Middle Manager turns murderer
Zane Smith has written a grimly humourous story of how any one can become a murderer. Circumstances escalate out of control for paunchy, out of shape Harry Carter and he thinks the solution all his problems will be to just murder the people out to wreck his daughter Jennifer's life...and his own.
Mr. Smith takes us on a romping, stomping ride in this dark thriller. You will laugh, cringe and cheer for Harry despite his flaws. But you won't be able to put the book down till the last page is turned.

History in Clear Language
This book is excellent for history buffs as well as students. Not only does it describe the Civil Rights Movement and one of the most powerful initiators of that movement, but it also challenges the reader to consider the International effects of the American Civil Rights Movement. This book is a "must-read" for students in African-American studies classes as well as others who are interested in American and International history.

Warm, Witty, and Fun.....
"Austin and his family were on the road. They called themselves The Swamp Snakes. Dad played the fiddle, Mom sang country-western, and Austin banged the tambourine. Every day was a different crowd. Every week was a different town. But every night in their trailer was exactly the same..." Austin had a drink of water from his dinosaur mug, lined his stuffed animals up at the end of the bed, snuggled down under his favorite quilt, and called out "story time." Dad always told him his bedtime story. "Just one more story?" Austin always begged. "You know the rules, cowboy," Dad said. "Just one story at bedtime." It was always the same, night after night until The Swamp Snakes got to Tuscaloosa. That night, instead of sleeping in their trailer, they stayed with Uncle Roy in his "two story" house. Austin didn't like the scratchy blankets or the unfamiliar bed, and he didn't like having to drink his water from a paper cup instead of his dinosaur mug, but he sure did like the idea of two stories..... Jennifer Brutschy's gentle, heartwarming story with its clever and humorous, surprise ending, just begs to be shared and read aloud. Her witty text, rich in engaging backwoods words and phrases, is complemented by Cat Bowman Smith's cheerful watercolor illustrations, filled with bold color, expressive details, energy and motion. Perfect for youngsters 3-7, Just One More Story is an cozy, comforting, and entertaining bedtime read that's sure to become an instant favorite at your house.

Okay, so I know the editor...
Okay, so I know the editor and all... so I'm biased. I'm a moderate student of the Civil War, but I found this to be a really refreshing way to study the War--through political cartoons. Cartoons of that era seem so much more complicated and intricate that they do today. I learned a lot that I didn't already know, and in a very enjoyable way.

Excellent Teaching Methods
I found this book immensely helpful since I was switching from Frontpage to GoLive. GoLive is definitely "industrial strength" and the paradigm of this program is significantly different from Frontpage. This book really helped me understand the logic of the GoLive program. There is a reason for all the pallettes, toolbars and the way the program is laid out. This book really facilitated a painless process in understanding the program...which is absolutely essential in order to take advantage of all the great features of GoLive. The explanation of metatags and how they are used in search engines is very helpful and everything you need to know to easily build them into your site is explained in the book. I definitely recommend Sams Teach Yourself Adobe GoLive 5 for beginners to intermediate professionals...I would consider myself an intermediate website builder.

Sams Teach Yourself Adobe(R) GoLive(R) 5 in 24 Hours
I've read several GoLove books to get a handle on the basics of this exceptional application. GoLive In 24 Hours is the best. It's easy to understand. Puts first things first. And gives one enough information to springboard into creating some pretty compelling web designs. I recommend it highly.

A! Tops!
This is the best Go Live 6 book I have read. It is clear, concise, and get's you up and running quickly. I would reccomend it to anyone!

Excellent for beginners and intermediates!
This is an excellent book for getting up to speed quickly on GL 6. I would not call it for the advanced user, but it's excellent for beginners or intermediates with Golive. The tutorials are clear and concise, and the book is exactly what it advertises itself to be - it gets right to the point.

I wish there was also a good advanced book on GoLive that covered using scripting such as Java and CSS and dynamic content in detail, unfortunately there are none yet that are any good. Maybe Sams can do that too? But for beginners or intermediates with GL 6 who want to start using the software today, this is the book to get!

Very Good Start
I found this book to be a very good introduction to Web design using Golive 6. The lessons are short but well presented, they are fast, and they can be used immediately to my own practice projects. Although the GoLive interface seemed so unassuming when you first open the program, it can get filled up quickly once you begin working. The authors made sure that you don't get lost amidst the plethora of palletes. There is also the confidence that I am reading the work of competent Golive designers who can actually communicate what they know and teach an unknown audience cleverly. Sam's formula, if I may venture a guess works well for this book: plain English, competent authors, short but lively presentation and an exciting software. In only a few hours, I was already making my own web pages and amazed my friends. This book is a very good start in Web design using Golive 6. It is one of my best and most useful books!

Great Book!
I had never used GoLive before and was kind of freaked out when I first opened the program. Then I went to an Adobe seminar and one of the authors of this book was a presenter. He was really excellent and knowledgeable, so I decided to buy the book. I'm glad I did! I've now created two Websites and am starting my third. This time I'm getting paid! I know I still have a lot to learn, but this book got me up and running FAST. The best thing about GoLive is the way it works with my Photoshop files. If you haven't used this yet, check out the convert to banner trick!!!! Saves you tons of time!!!!!

Not what I expected
The book might be ok for a very young reader. However, from the summary and from the other review, I thought the book would be helpful to a young person with a telescope (to help them find what's out there). I just received the book today and am returning it because it will certainly not be useful in this way.

What a treasure
I've been trying to interest my daughter in sciences, and Stars is a big hit in my house. My daughter can't put it down. What a clever idea to bring down to earth (so to speak) a really complicated subject.

FANTASTIC BOOK!!!!!!
This is a fantastic introduction to astronomy for kids! Dussling does a great job in making a very complicated subject easy to understand. And I learned a lot as well. The illustrations are also very well done. A super introduction to non-fiction and science. A true must buy!

DANFORTH'S OBSTETRICS AND GYNECOLOGY, 8TH
This book is not like an ordinary medical textbook. It is more like an intermediate type between a medical text and a medical periodical. It gives considerable space to progresses of many medical-scientific research and the names of their authors. While on the other hand, it provides extremely concise outlines of etiology-manifestation-diagnosis-treatment for many common diseases, sometimes even skip certain important topics. As far as I am aware of , the following common topics are not or barely mentioned by this book: physiological changes of pregnant women; rubella infection during pregnancy; breast feeding of mothers with mastitis; the route and rate of mother-child transmission of HIV; the differential diagnosis of ruptured ectopic pregnancy; contraindications of the use of IUD; forceps use in labor; APGAR; There are also quite a few mistakes in the rear index.

Excellent core text for Residents
Very good O&G text. This updated edition is well done
