For the Shakespear Enthusiast (or those doing a report)
Irwin Smith has taken a lot of time and research to present to us the great details of the Globe that many people do not know about. This book was very handy doing an english thesis on how plays would have been preformed on stage. If you are even remotly interested in Shakespear. I would definatly recomend the book. All of the to scale drawings of the playhouse really help to bring it to life.

Healthy Concepts
I just loved the way each chapter started with a scenario from the history archives of actual firms that narrated a story which was directly linked to the contents of the chapter. Out of all the books that i read for my MBA, this book has been one of the better Management books, which i enjoyed reading. The ideas, theories and concepts in the book felt like eating a salad for lunch. It was light, easy to digest and healthy

Great Economics Text for Managers
Great overview of economics. Good for managers who want to know how to read economic forces, react to them, and how to use them.

An outstanding all-in-one guide to business management
Besides being a well organized and example-packed textbook, I found Managerial Economics and Organizational Architecture to be a compact MBA refresher course -- and a useful reference for day-to-day problems. Thinking about business organizations as rational individuals responding to incentives and new information simply fits the facts. The three basic elements developed in this book allow managers to translate this logical thinking into operational decisions: allocating decision rights, measuring performance, and compensating individuals and groups. The power of this approach in analyzing common management problems equips the reader with a rich set of tools for identifying and solving them.

WRITING WOMEN
Just what is it that makes a woman take the risk and write her words on paper for all to see? Lucinda Smith explores this question in this slender volume "Women Who Write". In it she features female writers of the past and present who embarked upon writing as their career. Their thoughts and views of the writing process are presented to the reader through biographical sketches of the writers of the past and interviews with contemporary female writers.

This book is inspirational and encourages young females to think about pursuing writing as a possible career. It is inclusive of writers in poetry, novels, plays, journalism and screenwriting. Each woman through Smith's interviews gives the reason why they write, the obstacles they endured to break in their field and how they balance their writing lives with a family. Author Jane Goodwin declares she fell into writing by accident. Pulitzer prize winning playwright Beth Henley describes her transition from acting to play writing while Maxine Hong tells us she was born a writer.

The stories shared are entertaining and useful as each woman gives advice to those wishing to take up the pen. Lucinda Smith also provides the reader with pragmatic advice on pursuing a writing career and puts the writing woman in a historical context as we see women's literary development throughout the years. This is an appropriate book for young girls to get started in pursuing their goals for a writing career.
