Slater's World War Three series is terrible
I have all of Slater World War III novels and I have read them all. They started out interesting enough, but with so many factual errors and grammatical mistakes, they were very frustrating to read. Worst of all, the characters were flat and uninteresing. I'm going to get rid of all my Ian Slater books as soon as possible.

Better than the first but still trash.
this series could have been interesting. But they just do not live up to expectation. The characters are so boring that it is mind numbing.

The plot jumps around which is fine, but fails to really make any sense. Much of what happens is predictable and lacking. the series has many military mistakes which is unforgivable. Read what he used to do as a profession.

I thought i'd give the second one a go. but it really is just not a good series. Read Larry bond or tom Clancy for good stories in the techno thriller genre.

Love The WW III Series
The reviews on the book cover say it all. He is better than Clancy! I love the characters, especially COL Freeman.

Garbage
I did not read this book, nor do I care to. It is very clear that Mr. Slater might be a great writer, he does not know anything about this issue. Anyone who slanders the Militia, needs to have their head examined. The Militia is not only called for in our most important documents but it is necessary. The media and people like Mr. Slater make the Militia look bad to discredit them and turn people away from them. The day will come when people like Mr. Slater will be thankful there is a Militia around, as they will be the only means of safety there is. I do not support anyone who defends this person or sells his book. sincerely, Warren Nelson

No way!!
Mr. Slater has NO IDEA of how a REAL Patriotic Militia works! The absolute LAST thing that a REAL Militia would do would be to cooperate with a foreign power!! I mean, how UN real can you get!!! If I were you (the person reading this review) I wouldn't waste my hard earned cash on this one. Mr. Slater, YOU BLEW IT!!!!

Cheezy but great fun!!!!
Every avid reader has to have at least one cheezy authur that they love and Ian Slater is mine. His books are fast moving and so in accuarte that i can't help but, think that it is intentional. I love the pulp fiction feel of his books. I'm sure my I.Q. drops 10 points while I'm reading these things. I love these books and I'm proud of and want to let the world know. Signed, Anonymous

What A Waste Of My Time
This book has to be the worst researched novel I have ever read! It reads like a "Television Junkie" who has seen too many "Walker, Texas Ranger" episodes on what the militia is about and decides to put down his beer and write a book. If you are looking for an entertaining book on what drives anti-government sentiments, read "Unintended Consequenses" by John Ross. It is a long read but well worth the time invested. As for "Manhunt" I wish there was a rating less than 1 star!

Slater failed at his second chance
I always give an author a second chance but Manhunt is, if anything, even worse than Battle Front. The characters are still thin, the plot became even thinner (which is not disguised by having three essentially independent stories woven together to make it look like there is actually a storyline to follow.)

In this book, Slater continues to portray the militia units as battle-experienced crack troops and the US troops as green. Given that the bulk of the US troops are national Guard, I can buy some of that, but not to the extent given in this book. If Slater's assessment of the Guard units is true, one would be hard-pressed to imagine how any of the Guard troops returned alive from Gulf Storm -- the vast majority of them would have accidently shot themselves while opening their mail from home. Meantime, the militia are teflon -- no s**t sticks them, no matter how badly they muck things up. This pattern continues through this book to the point of being very irritating.

Once again, find something else to read -- to rip off an old novelty film, "You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll kiss six bucks goodbye." I will not be picking up any of Slater's book in the future.

Best So Far On Militias!
I enjoy Ian's books even more than I do Tom Clancy's. Ian really researches his material, and you wonder if he was in fact in the U.S. Marines or other elite unit. His characters really come alive!
