crossroads of history
Serrano was a writer and diplomat who sought out 2 masters as a spiritual/philosophic seeker. Fascinating biography, mixed with Serrano's own fixations.

Serrano later fixated on Adolph Hitler, so there certainly seems to be a germanic bent that he followed. Read "Black Sun" to see the strange path MS took after his encounters with Hesse and Jung.

Very Enlightening!
I picked this up because I had read several books by Hesse and was interested in Mr. Serrano's personal experiences with the Master. I found his writing to be quite engaging, and felt as if I had met Hesse myself. The section on Jung piqued my interest enough for me to search for his, The Undiscovered Self, which I loved as well. I also went on to read Mr. Serrano's, The Ultimate Flower. Unfortunately most of Serrano's other works are out of print. Get this before it goes o.o.p. too. You won't regret it.

Temple of Wotan : Holy Book of the Aryan Tribes

Fulfilling the author's earlier promise
Where McVan showed promise in Creed of Iron, this time around he delivers the goods. A meaty book on Odinism/Asatru. Those who think McVan's spirituality is merely politics in disguise ought to do themselves the favour of actually reading this book. No-nonsense Wotanism for the modern age while drawing heavily on the past.

As in Creed of Iron, McVan chooses to write a little about a lot. Temple of Wotan covers a large field of topics directly and indirectly related to the core spirituality of the Northern path. There were times when I wish I could have read more of his thoughts on subjects but he was quickly off onto something else. This book covers a lot of ground.

The content of the rituals draws heavily on the published works of established Odinist groups, although the credits for these works are not given. This might lead the reader to assume they McVan's own rituals and wordings, when in fact they have a much richer heritage. Nevertheless, any exposure to such holy words is for the good and this is less a criticism than an observation.

If you feel a pull toward the Gods of your ancestors then you could do far worse than read Temple of Wotan.

Hail the High Ones! Hail the Ancestors!
Russ.

Absolutely Wonderful!
This has got to be the most comprehensive book on European Paganism, without all the Modern Political Correct GARBAGE that tries to lend itself as 'paganism' today. The poor skeptics of this book (I can tell they haven't read it, judging from their false accusations found nowhere in this book) are deliberately attacking this book, trying somehow to hurt the author. European Paganism is just THAT- EUROPEAN! Racist? Well, paganism is a combined mythos of experiences by a group of indiginous European people, so if THAT is "racist", so be it. It is a religion of blood, always was, always will be. No amount of psycho-babble will ever change that. This book is my #1 pick of all time.

A master work by a master author
Temple of Wotan demonstrates the depth of conviction and dedication to Asatru/Wotanism by author Ron McVan and his colleagues. This guidebook to the religion of Northern Europe provides all the basics and a great deal of advanced knowledge for the Friend of the Gods. Awesome illustration, intelligent prose, meaningful wisdom throughout. Begin your journey into our past with this book for the future.
