A good book. I couldn't put this bio down! only problems: Dateof birth, Where born

I brought this book for my grandson whose crazy about demolition derby. It explains the sport in detail, including kinds of tracks, tricks to improve your vehicle and the pictures were fantastic.

...and for the most part, although it's geared towards a younger audience, it's a great book to have if you are a big fan of Kristi Yamaguchi, mostly for the photos it includes. There are several photos of Kristi in Albertville, both on the podium and standing with her medal after the ceremony that I've not seen in any other book and that brought back great memories of watching it live all those years ago. One of the more interesting parts of this book is that it was written before Kristi decided to turn pro, and talks about her plans for Lillehammer in 1994 (how great would that have been if it had been true?). Some of the photos are incorrectly captioned, and the book doesn't really reveal any ground-breaking information about Kristi or her life that hasn't already been covered in other books, but I recommend it for the photos. If you are a BIG Kristi fan, regardless of your age, this book will fit nicely into your collection. Otherwise, for a better book on Kristi and skating in general, check out her "Figure Skating for Dummies".

People should read this book . If your kids like monster trucks they better read this book

Expecting a large 8 by 10 inch book of over 100 pages of fantastic verbosity, I received a small, 60 page book with language suitable for a 6 year old. But I thought it was just great! Perfect for new Kariya fans and younger hockey fans. Not recommended for hard-core hockey fanatics, but a definite read for little hockey tykes.

Gambling has always been around in our culture. People bet on horses, dogs, play the lottery, and sports. Gambling in its varied forms has been used to fund both government and religious institutions. At times it was illegal to gamble but today everyone partakes in the gaming industry and the most notable group are teenagers.

A Sure Thing? explores the sociological world of gambling in all of its facets. It gives a brief history of gambling, lays out the views of those for and against legalized gambling, shares the stories of young people addicted to gambling and opens up the question of whether sports gambling should be legalized. This is an excellent book in introducing to teenagers an area of life that has become so common place in our society.

Author, Jeff Savage, lays out the issues, shares the negative and positive impacts about gambling and leaves the reader much better informed about the gaming industry. He also brings up the paradox of gambling being legal for some things and yet for sports, it is illegal because it can undermine the "integrity" of the game.

If you never discusssed the moral, ethical and political issues regarding gambling with your teenager, this is the book to have. Savage is not preachy in his presentation but is not afraid to share the hard facts of gamblings destructiveness on teenagers, sports figures and adults. His bibliography provides further resources in exploring the issue in depth.

This book is a verry good book ,it tells about Thurman's football start in High school and in college. When he was in college he beat out the best running back Barry Sanders. It also talks about how the Bills went to the super bowl four times.

Barry Bonds Record Breaker is a great book to tell you a lot about Barry's career in baseball. The book also tells you about Barry's homeruns, like when he beat Mark McGwire's record with 73 homeruns. Also, he got 4 Most Valuable Player Awards, (WOW!), 8 Golden Glove Awards, and is the only player to have over 400 homeruns and stolen bases. I enjoyed learning about Barry's career in baseball.
