Angeline is too smart for her own good and is not well like at school, until she meets a young boy who is sort of an outcast himself. The two of them befriend a teacher who befriends Angeline's father. The story was cute and I was able to relate Angeline and really felt for her. I did have 2 problems however.
First, Sachar routinely talks about the things Angeline knew before she was born because she was connected to the world, but he does not explore this topic as much as I would have liked, or expected. Also, I felt the suggested future romantic relationship between Angeline and Gary to be a little much considering she is only 8 years old. These are both small issues, but they did prevent the book from getting a five star rating.
Why 4 stars?:
With the exception of two flaws: 1 dealing with a concept not being explored fully, the other with content, this book was very enjoyable. It is not the most open for discussion of Sachar's works, but there is still plenty to talk about. I would recommend this book for intermediate students and their classrooms - it is already a part of mine.

Need I say more?
This book is hilarious. I could just see kids I know going to a school thirty stories tall, with a classroom on each side, struggling through torturous mosquito bites, a teacher who thinks you're a monkey, and all sorts of kooky and downright hilarious characters. I could read this over and over. It is so realistic, yet oh so spacy.
I first read this book when I was about seven or eight. I have read it over and over with each of my five younger siblings and it gets funnier each time. Sachar has a way of appealing to all audiences.
Parents, the Wayside school series is the easiest way to get boob-tube obsessed kids to read a good book for a change.
And it is a good book!

The author, Louis Sachar, has written a lot of books. Like Holes, Sideways Stories from Watside School, Wayside School gets a little Stranger, Sideways Arithmitic from Wayside school, Dogs don't tell Jokes, Boy who Lost his Face, 6th Grade Secrets, Marvin Redpost: Alone in his teacher's House, and Kidnapped at Birth? and many others.
Most people would find this very amusing. This book is so funny. Like when Mrs. Jewls pushes a computer that Louis, the yard teacher, had worked hard at getting up there, out the window. That was really funny and you can find more stuff like that by checking out more books by Louis Sachar. I think that everyone will really like this book.
I would think that people at the age of 8-11 year olds would like this book.
I really liked this book because every time I read it I would just crack up because it was so funny. Unfortunately this book is really short. Also it's more child-like than I had expected. .....
My book, Wayside School is Falling Down by Louis Sachar is a story about a class on the thirteenth story Wayside School. Their teacher Mrs. Jewels is the nicest teacher in Wayside School. There is one very big problem at Wayside School there are dead rats living in the basement. They go through a lot of funny problems.
I like Todd in Mrs. Jewel's class because he always gets in trouble and has to ride home on the kindergarten bus early at noon. I like all the characters in this book. I think book really deals with you need to be happy that you go to school and some kids don't get that chance. What I liked about the book is that there is funny in every chapter. What I didn't like is how changed the whole plot every chapter. I was satisfied with the ending because I was surprised.
Louis Sachar keeps the reader entertained. It made me keep reading the book. The vocabulary is easy. This book would appeal from the ages between 9 and 13. It is very funny. I love this book and I recommend it to the people who like to have a good laugh I give the book five stars I really liked this book and I think you read it.

Stanley Yelnats is sent to penalty camp because he was accused of stealing a basketball players shoes. When Stanley reaches Camp Green Lake he takes a look out the bus window and sees nothing but tents and holes in the ground. At first Stanley is teased and picked on by everyone, even the wordan, the boss of the camp. Stanley makes a friend named, Zero. They both decide to run away and try to get back home. But a few problems come their way.
Holes is a great book for kids that love to read about adventures. It is full of tales, friendships and mysteries. There are tons of details and they are all very interesting. I loved this book because it caught my attention fast and had a very appealing plot.
People who love to read about teenagers, adventures and mysteries would love this book. If you also like the author, "Louis Sachar" this is probably one of his best books he's written. If you like stories where there are always questions that don't have easy answers you should read this book
Holes is one of the best books I've read. If I've perked your interest with what you've read so far read this book! That way you will learn of all the troubles, adventures and stories Stanley and Zero pass through on their journey home.

that kidnapped kid was kind of fun. I also like that book because
that third grade kid who thougt he was kidnapped at the day he was born. I would love to tell this story so other kids would
enjoy reading it like I enjoyed it. It was about a great kid who thought he was kidnapped at birth. Because when he saw the t.v
news the prince of shampoon lost his son when he was born.
