Dear Dr. Ted: Just a brief note to tell you how very much I enjoyed your publication; I'm very impressed! You've produced a very thoughtful and complete guide to the small claims forum that is an extremely useful tool to both the layman and practitioner alike. You've provided a clear concise roadmap for claimants who might not have otherwise availed themselves of the small claims part to recover on meritorious claims. In my experience as a small claims court arbitrator, I've found a sore lack of understanding on the part of claimants and defendants as to what is required to pursue a claim in this part and what to expect from the process. Your Step By Step guide is an invaluable "hands-on", "how to" publication that provides the understanding necessary to take advantage of the "People's Court". Since I keep your book in a prominent area of my office conference room, it has been the subject of frequent perusal by clients and visiting colleagues. I've only had your book for a little over a month and it's already become a bit "dog-eared from use. I believe that says it all. Nice Job!

I highly recommend Dr. Ted Rothstein's book, "Small Claims Court - Step-by-Step". This book is very well organized and complete. The common sense approach to such legal matters builds confidence. Don't consider small claims court without it!

After continual phone calls and sending duplicate bills, my client did not answer or respond to the long overdue debt. Like all my billings for professional work completed, payment was due upon receipt of the completed appraisal......After calls to my client's attorney that brought no results, I decided for the first time in my business career to use the small claims court. In view of my ignorance as to the procedure to follow, I proceeded to investigate books available on the subject.

The book Barron's Legal-Ease Small Claims Court Step by Step, appealed to me because I could understand it....it was written in layman's language. It took all the mystery out of the process. Finally, a clear and concise exploration of the power of language and the connection that our language has to our body AND our health. Matt does a great job of synthesizing the work of Flores and Maturana with his own learning journey and medical background. He presents very powerful ideas and exercises in wonderfully simple terms that any lay person can understand! I recommend this book to anyone looking to make shifts not only in their own health, but in the results they are producing in life.

I am convinced from reading this book that Dr. Budd is articulating so clearly the sort of things about ourselves that many of us notice in more private or reflective moments, but are difficult to describe in words so that we tend to think we are crazy, or friends and colleages say we think too much. What makes a book like this so refreshing is that it acknowledges the inner experience of individuals (how things affect us) as being as important (if not more sometimes) as the the things that "happen to us" from the outside. For me, this is liberating because, as Dr Budd points out through stories of experiences with his patients, we are in a much better position to examine and alter our response to what happens to us, than we are able to alter external events that are beyond our control. The notion that we generate our own experience of life, is something that our culture is just starting to wake up to, and Dr Budd has been exploring this for decades. As a doctor myself, it is one of my favorite books to reccommend to patients, because it seems impossible that a person could read it and not be changed by the wisdom that, thanks to this book, will one day be common knowledge.

In this book Matt Budd produces the magic of poets, artists of the first rate, and a few others: he gives us fresh access to ourselves as the material for making a life, and contributes to our skills for designing our lives.

Inevitably, and by design, this book appears in the tradition of "self help." It is that, and the combination of experiences, explanation of phenomena, examples, and exercises that the authors use to bring us the help is effective and beautifully done. However, the book is a lot more than that at the same time. For example, I put it alongside the great plays and the great poets as a source of reflection, insight, and inspiration into what I am doing with my life, and alongside meditation and prayer for creating space in my life to consider what is important, be grateful for life, and get ready to take action on what I am not satisfied with.

And there is more: the authors give us access to a group of thinkers who are not accessible to the general public today, because the foundations of their thinking are so recently built that they aren't even taught at most universities. The best examples are the radical new interpretation of language and action of Fernando Flores and the biology of Humberto Maturana. Each has written, but their books are difficult. Budd does a beautiful job of taking us simply and clearly into these new worlds.

A book not to be missed! Thank you, Matthew Budd, and thank you Amazon for making this kind of conversation possible for all of us.

This is truly one of those exceptional cookbooks from a famous restaurant which is accessible for the home goumet.

The recipes are of exceptional creativity and taste and style, yet they are not of such ingredients that you have to scour the city or internet to find, nor learn exotic techniques.

For example, Lamb and Portabello Skewers with Mint Pesto, Goat Cheese and Oven-Dried Napleons, Crab-Crusted SeaBass with Briased Endive, Pine Nut Polenta, and RedWine Fumet, or my favorite so far from the collection: Molasses-Cured Pork Loin with Boston Baked Beans. And for finishers, you've got to try the Carmelized Banana Tart with Malted-Milk Chocolate Ice Cream.

This is outstanding collection of Italian, Mediterrean, and mixture and fusion of oriental and Middle-east dishes. Great stuff, not too difficult to prepare. Looks great, and the taste is sophisticated, but comfort food as well.

This is one of the best recent new ones out.

I have been eating periodically at the Tribeca Grill since it opened in 1990. It is a restaurant that continues to get better with age: hearty food, friendly, professional staff, a great wine list, and celebrity buzz. Now there's a book that really captures the spirit and excitement of Tribeca Grill and brings it to my home. The book is lavishly illustrated, the recipes are simple to follow, and the stories are interesting. Even if you've never been to Tribeca Grill, you'll enjoy this book.

I have visited the Tribeca Grill several times on trips to NYC and have always enjoyed it. I was intriguied to learn that they now had a cookbook, and purchased a copy. It's a thoroughly enjoyable book. The recipes are great and very accessible, and the annecdotes are interesting and capture the personality of the restaurant. If you can't get to New York, this is a nice alternative to experience the Tribeca Grill.

It is a good book for Interviewer. I suggest you look it.

This book humanized history by relating the stories of Natalie Rothstein's emigrant ancestors, and her parents, to events in Europe and the U.S. over the past hundred years. The author has turned scholarly research into living, breathing stories. It was fascinating to me, a non-Jew, to see how the succeeding generations of American Jews yearn to know and appreciate those who have gone before. I have often observed something similar in Hawaii, where I live now. Like Rothstein, people who are three and four generations away from the Orient often return to their ancestral villages in China, Japan, the Philippines and Korea for visits at least once. I felt the same way when I finally got to England.

The book takes on a more immediate tone when we reach Rothstein's own era. Through her eyes, we experience the Thirties, Forties and Fifties. She reminds us of famous Jews in every walk of life.

Most interesting to me were the years she and her Army captain husband spent in rural Germany with their three children. He was a doctor at an Army base. What mixed emotions they felt as Americans and Jews in the country so recently dominated by Hitler and his Nazis! She's a wonderful writer, observant and thoughtful. We get the viewpoint of a well-rounded modern American woman, refreshing in these days of trashy ghost-written bimbo biographies.

An American Family reminded me somewhat of Barbara Tuchman's books (Guns of August and Night of the Generals) in that it fleshes out history and takes you there where and when it was happening.

If one is looking for a comprehensive, intelligible and coherent overview of the area of Employment Law then look no further.

The editors logically lay out the material beginning with the attempts to hire and be hired, the employment relationship and problems therein, the termination of the employment relationship and the consequences therefrom, and the effects of the termination of employment on future employment.

The editors provide insightful cases that were logically edited as well as useful notes and background cases. All in all, a great caseback.

Overcoming shyness is a good thing, as it leads to more confidence which leads to more friends, more success, etc. Overcoming insecurities can lead to one being less jealous, vindictive, and more forgiving. And to making those who were once thought of as your enemy into a friend.

I found Ray's antedotal appraoch to behavioral problems very refreshing. By showing exactly what the owners were doing wrong, I was able to see if my problems were similiar enough to warrent the same correction. Ray really respects the fact that not all dogs are the same and as a result, he presents several remedies for the reader to try. In general, Ray showed me that we are always teaching our dogs, whether we want to or not. As a result, I am much more aware of timing, proper corrections and how I interact with my puppy. A must read for all of us lucky enough to have a dog in our lives.
