Just back from nine-day trip from Chicago to Southern California on Route 66. This set of maps was our main guide to The Mother Road. Artwork seems crude, but when you get out there and start driving you'll find that it's generally sufficient, and when you get in trouble (translation: Lost, it happens to all of us sometimes!) the written description is enough to get you back on track!

"It's Here" was the comment from 2 young guys touring Route 66 that bought the maps at Lucille's. Lucille said they sat in her drive way and looked up several places they wanted to see and were thrilled that everything was on them. So.. It's Here perfectly describes "Here It Is", a project thoroughly and accurately covered.

Last year me and a friend rode Route 66 on our Vespa scooters. There is no way we could have followed the old road without it. The directions are easy to follow, and the drawings are nice to look at. The only thing I would change is to add directions for some of the lesser known alignments listed, such as the nine foot wide sections in Oklahoma. I guess that would take up too much room though. A group of my friends and I are doing 66 on scooters again this year. I have told each person particiating to get a copy of this map set. You should too, if you plan to drive or ride Route 66.

Genuinely good, and full of usefull and clear informatio

A fantastic book, primarily because of the stunning visuals. Superman has never looked more life-like or vibrabt. this is primarily due to Alex Ross' stunning pencils and lush painting style. Ross took the comic world by storn in the early 90's with the limited series Marvels and continues to impress. this is the first of four oversized comic books. the story is not paticularly interesting, but it is clearly not the focus of this work. the point here is the art and it shows.

SUPERMAN: PEACE ON EARTH is an excellent story. It is very well written, told in the first-person caption point of view by Superman. Paul Dini has written possibly the best Superman story for 1998, with as always the beautiful, breathtaking painted art by Alex Ross. The oversize format of this book only enhances Ross' art in maximum detail. The story deals with Superman trying to end world hunger, only realizing that even he cannot do anything about it at the end. A terrific story for Superman's 60th anniversary in 1998.

Take time to read this and relish this. This is not a comic this is pure art and the writing and story will touch you and make you think! Give this out as a the best Christmas present you could give! Ross and Dini make the world real in the unreal universe of Superman. Alex Ross is the best and look for the tribute page to the Chrstopher Reeve Superman movies makes you pause and reflect that this world has problems but we can work them if we try. Again buy this book!
