Teen Power!
I read this book in German, as "Die Geheimnisse des Zauberers".I only have got 3 Teen Power books, and I¢¥m not sure if I can still buy some in Germany. But let¢¥s hope it. In the "Sorcerer¢¥s Apprentice" Tom is the one who is telling the story. I like him very much, because he nearly (never) looses his humor. Of course, I like the other teens too, but it was interesting to see what a person is in Tom, not only the joking boy, but also a sometimes offended teen. Sid, the magician is also a nice person to think about a bit more than to see only the joking old man. I think Tom and Sid are a bit from the same typ. Well, this shan¢¥t be more than a short note, so TEEN POWER!

The thrilling sixth book in the Deltora Quest series.
Leif, Barda, and Jasmine have found five of the seven gems of the Belt of Deltora. But the Shadow Lord is aware of their quest and has sent his servants to watch out for them. Their journey is more dangerous than ever. To find the sixth gem, the amethyst, is located on the western coast, in the Maze of the Beast. During their journey, they visit the stronghold of the resistance and face shape-shifters and pirates. They also make new discoveries which may help them in their quest to free Deltora from the Shadow Lord's evil. All fans of the Deltora Quest series will want to read this, the latest book. I can't wait to read the next book, which will describe the search for the seventh and final gem.

the deltora classic
This book is the conclusion to the Deltora Shadowlands series, which is the follow-up to the Deltora Quest series, and it most definetly won't dissapoint any Deltora fans, or any fantasy fans who are interested, although you should read all the Deltora's (both the Quest and the rest of the Shadowlands series) before starting this one, as you need to know all the information that they contain if you want to keep up. It starts off as Lief, Barda, and Jasmine leave the island of Auron to proceed to their last stop, the island of Keras. The Kerans, suprisingly, turn out to be the easiest of all of the three groups to get the pipe from, as they agree to lend the three heoros the third part of the mystical Pirran Pipe, agreeing to lend them it in exange for an item, which, to the shock of his companions, Lief seems eager to give. Why is Lief so willing to give the Kerans such a important magical item? The answer could go deeper than you might think. Finally, the three companions proceed to the shadowlands, but with an extra person along the way, who will, for obious reasons, play a huge role in this conclution. As the last hope for the imprisoned Deltorans proceed through the strange, dangerous Shadowlands, many secrects are revealed regarding Lief, Jasmine, Marilen, and Faith. Just like in Deltora Quest, all the clues which seem to point to nothing, add up to the final secret that very few know, and, also like Deltora Quest, you'll be doing two things after reading this book: Kicking yourself and begging for more, as everything from all the Deltora's add up to an amazing ending.

uummm...
I liked these books a ton. I am a big fantasy person (harry Potter, Lord of the rings, tamora pierce, etc) and i thought they were really good. one of my best friend lent them to me and i had the whole series (and deltora shadowlands) finished within, like, a week. I am in 7th grade and a big reader (at least two hours a day) and these books are great (but not as great as tamora pierce).

Dread Mountain
Yes I do like this book. It is a great book for whoever likes adventure. It is confusing if you don't read them in order. It has 128 pages. This book is hard to put down. Once you start reading you can't stop.

Dragonlance for the younger crowd!
This series of books not only made my 4th grader who loves to read disappear into it's pages for days on end by also entranced my 5th grader who thinks comic books are real books. The most wonderful part of this series is it's complete lack of that boy/girl mushy stuff that quite frankly my kids don't need yet another dose of!

An exciting beginning to the Rowan series
As the stream that is the only water the bukshah drink, on which the people of Rin depend on for life, stops running, the people of Rin know that something has to be done. They send six of the strongest people of Rin, but when they discover that the medicine woman, whom many of them think are crazy, has sent them a valuable item: A map of the Mountain. Then they discover that only in the hands of weakest and most cowardly boy in Rin does it show itself, they find no other answer than to send him along. A bit of the poem also given by Shiva:
Seven hearts the Journey make
Seven ways the heart will break
Bravest heart will carry on.
A surprise awaits them as each of them strong men and woman turn aside from the quest in shame. That Bravest Heart is none other than Rowan. Cowardly he may be, but he faced his fears, and that is real bravery.

An enchanting heroic story testing a youg boy's courage.
The people of Rin are in danger. The stream that runs through the village is draining away, and at once they know it has to do with the source at the top of the Mountain. But as tales and rumors have it, dreadful circumstances are on the Mountain, as well as dangerous forces that threaten the village of Rin. And as legend has it, at the very top of the Mountain -- a dragon lurks in hiding. Chosen together with six brave hearted travelers, Rowan , whose people consider him weak and cowardly,

goes along with them, for only he can read the Map to guide them. Even in the face of uncertain and often deadly danger, Rowan and the other travelers face a rugged and harsh journey. Rowan wants desperately not be the weak little boy the people think of him as. And when the fateful moment comes for him to at last save all, will he survive the dangers and treachery of the journey to the top of the Mountain? Emily Rodda writes a beautiful and enchanting heroic story for younger readers,

with a fantasy plot that will move readers and make them be drawn to Rowan's somwhat courageous character, who hopes to somehow be strong.

Facing your fears! [bills! Solicitors! School!] just jokin'.
...

Readers of Delotora quest, and just plain fantasy readers, would love this book. It is a tale of how even the weakest man or woman can prevail when stronger heroes cannot. The water suply in Rin is running low, and it's members will run low on life unless they can retrieve the water. They know the problem is up the mountain somewhere, but the mountain is treacherous. A mad old lady named Sheba gives them little clues of how to get up the mountain safely, and six of the strongest heroes are chosen, but the weakest child[or teenager, the book never realy told his age]had to come beacause only he could revele the map. In the end all six heroes are deafeted by their greatest fear and only Rowan, the weak one, is left to save Rin. "This book was great!" says me. But my word is good enough for me. It gets a little predictable but sometimes your own thoughts may wrong....

P.S. I apalogize for my bad spelig and grammer,

The Pigs Are Flying

The pigs are flying.
This book is original and very well written. The book is well written for the style makes the fantasy seem so real that nothing is impossible. Children can use their imagination by reading this book and the story will probably remain with them throughout their lives. The main character, a little girl named Rachel, makes the young reader able to relate and believe in the fantasy world. The detail and word structure of the book gives us vivid descriptions of things and visual scenes. For example, the pigs were described as plump and pink. The unicorn's golden horn glittered in the sun and it's fluffy white mane moved with the breeze. One could easily visualize little Rachel in her pajamas riding a unicorn in a green field. Every detail seems so believable that one realizes "nothing is impossible" while using your imagination. There are several rules in the fantasy which make the story seem very real for even as a child, we must realize that we cannot always do or get what we want in life. For example, the people in the story are hiding because they can not tolerate the UEF rays of the "grunter" storm. If they get out in the storm, it makes their personalities, tolerance, and reliability become greatly affected. Also Rachel has only one way that she can get back to her world, and she has to find help in order to learn how to get back. The UEF has its limits, because it does not affect Rachel. Also, the people cannot tell Rachel exactly how the other outsiders got back to their world. However, one was able to tell her what one was doing when they disappeared. Rachel must learn on her own how she can get back to her home and family. These limitations make the story much more interesting and believable, because not everything in life comes easy. Rachel is very human for she is a young child who wants something fun to happen. Rachel has her fun in the story, but she also becomes frightened away from her home. On the other hand, the pigs have some almost human characteristics. They seem to grunt and squeak with pleasure. One big pig appears to smile at her. The pigs somersault and roll (like children at play) in mid air. The unicorn seems to know to take Rachel to Bert and Enid's house so she will be safe (thinks like human mind). These qualities have just enough seriousness to make the reader feel like they are a character in this new world. I would definitely read this book to my primary class. The Pigs are Flying has a great conclusion for it lets the reader keep on dreaming. The fantasy does end for Rachel, but it was not a dream. It was a real adventure for she has some UEF in a bottle to prove it. Just enough to make this boring world a little interesting sometimes.

In College and remember reading it!
I read this book over and over as a child! I remember details of it like it was yesterday. I absolutely loved it and I still do. It makes you think and wonder and spurns your curiosity and creativity. A must own for the creative child. I am in college and I still remember this book! Buy it today!

All about UEF: a great book.
Of the Emily Rodda books I have read, this one is possibly my favourite. (Though "the Timekeeper" is pretty good.) I's all about Rachel, who is sick with a cold and sick of her boring life. After a visit from her never-boring friend Sandy, she is pulled into a world almost exactly like our own. However, it has one important difference! "Inside" has wild UEF storms which cause strange things to happen. The most notable one is that it makes pigs rise off the ground and tumble around in the air. (Though the Government passing a law to make all people over 10 wear a bag of fish and chips on their head at all times is a good one!) Lots of good fun is to be had as we follow Rachel's attempts to get back "Outside", while braving the crazy effects of an Unusual Event Factor 10 storm.

Rachel, The Pig Lover
As a child I had an obsession with all things pink and piggy, (as little girls often do!) and so this meant I read any book I could get my hands on that were about pigs. My name is Rachel and upon reading this book I fell in-love with it as the main characters name is also Rachel. I still remember this book clearly, as I followed her into an exciting world and lived through her adventure of the flying piggies and the UEF concept. Now as a mature woman I still pick the book up and enjoy a reading once every couple of years. I recommend this story to any young person who enjoys travelling into a different dimension and having an adventure.

What a fun book!
My child loves this book. I might have enjoyed it more than she did

A Keeper!!
This is one book that children love. They love the pictures--especially the one where grandma's teeth fall out. I work at a public library where we do storytime. I keep this book for emergencies when a new group pops in. It is always a crowd pleaser.
