What a great story
In "Caroline", I found the most wonderful, intriguing storyline. Caroline Hoxie is a 16 year old girl whose quest to meet up with her brothers in 1850's California leads her on more adventures than she had ever planned. She is a character any risk-taking girl can admire. I first read the book while in 5th grade, and I just picked it up again -- as a high school Senior! This book truly transports you back in time, and you can't help but turn the page in this great story of adventure, trust, and love.

still thinking about this series
Caroline was such a wonderful read when I was 14. I remember I couldn't put it down. I reread certain pages over and over because I wanted to be there with her, to make it through all the ordeals and to see if she was going to get the man she had fallen for. You won't be disappointed. **Caroline and Roxanne were my favorite of the Sunfire series. (I must have reread each one three times) A few years ago I went into a book store looking for this series, just to thumb through and to be taken back in time. I was disappointed to see that they were no longer on the shelf and now I find out they are out of print. I am 26 years old and while my taste has matured; I am kicking myself for turning in my collection of these books to a used store when I was 18. ( I had the entire series up to the mid-twenties) If you find any of these books, I hope you enjoy them as much as we reviewers did. It seems as if we are a special reading group. They are wonderful romantic stories of lifes tough personal choices, history, and the importance of family.

Not everyone 'enjoys being a gril'!
Caroline is a 17 year old tomboy looking for love. When her brothers join up with the California gold rush, she begs to acompany them. when they turn her down, she takes matters into her own hands. disguised as a boy named Caro, she travels with the dashing Dan Riddle to California. During the trip, she finds herself falling in love with Dan. Can love overcome all? this is my favorite sunfire! I love this book! i got it from a library, so if anyone knows where to find it, please e-mail me at kathloves2sk8@hotmail.com

good
A good book if you like mystery. Good to read because it is about young kids and there is no violenc

Silly Nathan
In To Grandmother's House We Go there are three main characters. They are Nathan, Rosie, and Kevin, Their dad was dead so then when they find out their mom might be dying too, they decide they have to do something. They decide to go find their grandmother's house. When they get there finally they start hearing strange noises. They start a quest to find out who else was living at grandmother's house along with them, Uncle George, and Grandma.
I liked this book a lot. It is especially good for kids, either boys or girls. It is very interesting. I could hardly put the book down the whole time I was reading it. One of the reasons I like this book a lot is that it is very realistic, but also very fiction because most kids wouldn't be able to go to their grandmother's house by themselves. I gave this book 5 stars.

An ideal book of fun and adventure for children.
As always,Willo is able to capture feelings and create characters that are identifiable to all of us. Who could not enjoy this book?

I wanted to be in this story!!!
Scared Stiff is an excellent story. It is very realistic and the events that take place in the amusement park are very pleasurable to read. This is the kind of story you read and you want to be a part of the action. An abandoned amusement park is any kid's dream of the ultimate playground, and it is neat to read about it in this story.

Scared Stiff
In this book, Rick, the main characters are an eleven year old boy and his younger brother Kenny who is seven. Teh boys'father is a truck driver who's load gets stolen one night. The mother asks the father if he had anything to do with it. The two dults get into a fight and the father leaves. The parents were not "divorced" the dad just left. Neighter parent filed for a divorce, and at the end the boy hopes that the father will come back home. The mother discovers much information about the case and is kidnapped so she will not tell. The kid-nappers try to capture her two sons so she will tell them what she knows. THe boys' friends, Connie and Julie, help them solve the mystery and escape from the kid-nappers. I am thirteen and I enjoyed this book thoroughly. It was very exciting and suspensful. I have read one other of Willo Davis Robert's books and found it equally exciting. She is a very creative writer and her books deserve 5 stars for mystery, adventure, and action in my opinion.

Scared Stiff
I read scared stiff when I was in the third grade in 1992, after my library teacher read it. It is such a good book that now in 1999, I remember the title after not reading it for seven years and I will be purchasing it for a much younger friend of mine. Even though it is at times unrealistic, it provokes the imagination of those who read it and imprints itself in a person's memory.

A great mystery
"But Vickie who's blood could it be?" said Joanie after they ran away from home to visit their dad. When the girls get there and find that their dad is not home they go looking for him in the apartment. With the help of Jake, the boy upstairs, they find several spots on the floor covered in blood. When they see strange men in the alley they get suspicious and wonder where their dad might be. Is their dad all right and what are the men doing in the alley?
This book is full of suspense. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and makes you keep reading to see what happens next. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to sit down and read a good mystery because you will definitely enjoy this action-filled story!

Twisted Summer......A good title for a great book
This book was awesome. It takes place in a little summer town, and it is about a 14 year old girl trying to solve a murder mystery. It has lots of suspense, and surprises, and I would reccomend it for older readers. The main character, Cici, is set out to find the murderer of a 15 year old girl, Zoe, that was strangled to death the summer before. Before she knows it, the killer is after her! Will she find out who the killer is before the killer find and kills her, too? It has very good description and is very easy to understand and read. Try it!

Twisted Summer
Twisted Summer by: Willo Davis Roberts 6th Grade

Do you like murder stories? Or do you prefer mysteries? Well this new book Twisted Summer, is a mix of both murder and mystery. Don't worry though, it isn't scary for those of you who aren't into scary stories. I know what you're thinking right now what is the book about? And what kind of murder? If I read on will it give the book away? No, I hate when people give away a good story. When fourteen-year-old Cici comes back to Crystal lake after two years everything seems fine at first. Then the new maid tells Cici of a murder that a boy named Brian committed. Cici can't believe that Brian would murder anybody, so she and Brian's brother Jack get together and make a list. This list contains suspects, their opportunity, and why they would desire to murder a mischievous girl in her teens. When they find the list is gone, things start to seem more serious. Cici's grandmother died, the list is gone, and things were definently twisted. This book brings you to a stomach turning ending of truth. Since Cici and Jack had made the list everybody seemed to be a suspect. When Cici snuck into the judges office she found something very peculiar. In the Judge's ( the owner of the house) recordings of cash, she finds that each month for about one and a half years, the judge has been paying one thousand dollars cash to somebody for something. Then she hears the screen door open and hurries out of the office. The next day she remembers in horror that she left the list in the judge's office and hurries to get it only to find it was gone. Did the judge find it? Or was it the maid? This was my favorite scene in the book because it left me on a cliff hanger, and I like cliff hangers. I'm afraid I can't give away anymore because it would give the book away. Believe me the ending is a real surprise.

Suspense!
This book is for all those readers who love suspense! I had been out of touch with reading for a while, but I read Twisted Summer for a class. It is about Cici, a 14-year old girl who is about to have the summer of her life. She and her family missed going to their cabin at Crystal Lake in Michigan the summer before. She is now ready to pick things back up and maybe have a chance at romance with 17-year old Jack. After she gets there, changes have occured and she learns that Jack's older brother, Brody is in prison for murdering another girl at the lake. Jack and Cici both believe he's innocent and they begin to investigate. Cici is playing a dangerous game. Although she came to make Jack see her as one of the big kids, Cici is no longer the girl she came as. I could not put this book down. It had great character description. It definitely lives up to the title with all the twists and turns!

Not my favorite
Of the Sunfire books I've read so far, this was definitely my least favorite. Perhaps my lack of interest in the Alamo had something to do with it, but mostly I found the story very predictable and Cade Riley just wasn't a consistent character. Sometimes he was very romantic, and other times, particularly when the subject of war came up, it seemed more like "Vicky who?" I also never understood how the relationship of Billy and Naddy progressed as it did...it just kind of happened. This wasn't a bad book, just not a great one.

a good book
Even though this is my first Sunfire book to read, so I can't compare it to any others, I thought it was a really good book. I especially liked it because I'm really interested in Texas history.(probably because I'm from Texas, and had a REALLY great Texas history teacher)I thought it didn't really give enough historical details and kinda left Billy and Naddy on thin ice.(but I can use my imagination) But over all it was a really great book! I really think the Sunfire series should be publised again, because I really just stumbled onto this one and can't find any more.

REMEMBER THE ALAMO
The first time I read this book I hated it, but I think I was missing something because when I read it again I really enjoyed it. This is a story about a girl named Vickie who moves to inner Texas because of her mom's health. She meet's Cade Riley, but her dad thinks he's too ready to go to war and Cade's sister Naddy hates her. Her parents like Luis Arista and Victoria's not certain how she feels. It's not until the Alamo falls that she can claim her true love.

Not one of Roberts' best
I really like Willo Davis Roberts, which is why I wanted to read this book, but I would definitely have to say that it isn't one of her best mysteries. The story was pretty lame, and the ending wasn't all that exciting. It wasn't predictable, though. I would definitely read some of her other books, because this is the only one I've encountered so far that wasn't too great, but you might want to skip this one.

A wonderful plot!
This is a really good book! It has mysterios characters and a surprising end!

The sniper game
This book was about a house that was given to Janie Madison, the main character of the book. Janie turned the house into an apartment to rent out to old people. A sniper was after all of the people in the house and wanted to kill them all.
I liked this book because it was twisted and it was hard to find out who the murderer was. I enjoyed reading this book because it is full of action such as when the sniper kills someone it tells how he is going to kill the person. This is a good book to read so read it today!

The Sniper: Unleashed
After reading this book you'll be thinking it was the most suspenseful and spine tingling book you've ever read all year. The plot of this exciting book is that Janie and her mom and brother have just moved into a house with their aunt. Soon after, one murder occurs and then a second and then a third. The police think they are dealing with a sniper. When Janie gathered enough clues, she knows whom the sniper will go after next. Will she be able to save that person in time or will it be too late? Over this entire book was very good. The author Willo Davis Roberts did a very good job planning out this book. Willo Davis Roberts has written many mystery books for the past several years. Willo Davis Roberts has put in a lot of detail to make this book very interesting to read. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading.
