So Good, Yet So Aweful
The only possible rating that you can give this book is 5 of 5... not many people know of it, or would care to. If you believe and follow God you will be absolutely scared of this book. This is about Ethics that hell uses. All I can say is it is a must read only if you can truely forgive humankind for being what they really are.

SAD, AWEFUL, GREAT BOOK

A Superb on Youth Ministry
This is one of the best book about Youth Ministry ever written and published. It clearly spells out the guidelines one needs to run a youth ministry in any churches. Although this book is mainly about principles, theories and guidelines, it is nevertheless a book every youth minister must read.

Good to use *with* your children
There are a number of activities that can be done to accompany your reading schedule. The paragraph headings are helpful. Explanations are good. There is an activity early in the book of Genesis to lead a child to Christ, but it is shallow and should be accompanied by further explanation...which is why I gave it only 4 out of 5 stars.

The KJV Kids' Study Bible by Lawrence O. Richards
I work with Kids ages 6 - 11 on Sunday Mornings (called Jr. Church) while the main Service is going on. I've been Looking for a Bible that is written in the King James Version, which is the same version that is used by the whole church, but able to teach the Kids on their level. This Bible does both. The Bible has introductions to each book, a summary of what the book is about and thought questions to have the Child look into God's word with and understanding at their Level. If you work with Kids, use King James, and want to make the transition to the Adult church easy, the, in my opinion, this is the Bible.
God Bless

KJV Kids' Study Bible
This is an excellent Bible for people of all ages. It makes reading the Bible fun and interesting! There are sections explaining the facts of Bible times and other highlighted sections alerting readers'to important verses. Bright colors and writing are everywhere. All of these things help to keep a younger readers' attention. It is also in the KJV. An added plus.

Confusing the Christians
After having read many different books on creationism, the Second Law of Thermodynamics, Mount St. Helen's, Dating Techniques, Fossil records, etc; I was disappointed that a book claiming to offer biblical answers does not do that. The bible along with scientific evidence offers the answers we need (at least has done a far better job than the Darwinian evolutionists.) Another ploy to cofuse the masses and promote the only religion the schools allow...secular humanism.

Great tool for building a "Creationist" foundation!
First of all realize that this book is written for Kids ages 9-12.

Now I would like for you to also realize that this 30+ year old learned tons while teaching from it to a Junior High Sunday School class!

The year I taught this, we had 18 kids and half of their parents purchased the book after the class. It was such a hit that we are teaching it again 2 years later.

This book does a wonderful job at setting a foundation from which kids can build on and learn from.

Lawrence Williams blends the laws of physics, theories on origins of the universe, "true science" vs. "junk science", nature, the Divine Will of God, Biblical references, and tons of real world examples into a brilliant, easy to read source for learning to understand, explain, and defend Creationism.

We know that our Children are going to learn the theory of Evolution at one point or another in their life. Instead of hiding in the sand and hoping they'll either a.) Not be exposed to it at all. b.) Learn it from a weak teacher. Or c.) Somehow be able to formulate an irrefutable argument without really learning about physics, science, nature, the Bible, and how they all work together to support and prove Creation.

Why don't we add a "d."? "Build them a strong Creationist foundation, so that they not only understand their faith, but they can defend it and teach others also."

This book does just that! Pick it up for your kid, but don't be surprised if you read it also. Better yet, use it yourself for a "Family" Bible Study!

Excellent resource for YOU and your children to understand
If you want to understand why the various "theories" are not sound, this book is for you and your children. It would make an excellent homeschool support group module class for science study. It takes each one of the evolutionary theories one by one and shows why they have been discredited. After it gets done showing the lack of credibility in each of the theories of evolution, there is nothing a rational person could do but see that it couldn't have happened in that way.
This book makes excellent sense!

A Difficult Read, but Worth the Effort
For a family member of a person recently diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, this book is a valuable resource for understanding this rare condition. It's a difficult read, but the book is organized into managable sections. For a lay person, it is probably best read in conjunction with less-technical material to provide definitions and context. Topics covered include historical perspectives of diagnosis and treatment, current research, and up-to-date treatment options. It provides in-depth explainations of the role of various diagnostic techniques in classification and staging. Additional topics include the relationship between Hodgkin's and the non-Hodgkin's lymphomas as well as the association with Epstein-Barr virus. The issues of pediatric Hodgkin's and long-term complications of treatment are also covered. The book's strongest recomendation is that it is one of the few available with current information specific to Hodgkin's, as opposed to the non-Hodgkin's lymphomas. It provides the lay person with requisite information to discuss Hodgkin's with the medical team, in sufficient detail to make informed decisions.

Hodgkins Information
As a layperson not familiar with medical terms and theories I found the book hard to follow and understand at first. After a bit of slow reading and comprehension it became a wonderful source of knowledge about cancer and hodgkin's disease

an oncologist's view
This timely review of the literature on Hodgkin's diseasereplaces the venerable work by Henry S. Kaplan and betters the master. The section written by Richard Hoppe, M.D. carries on the finest traditions of radiation oncology at Stanford. This is a very fine work and one anyone in the field of oncology should have on his/her book shelf.

A good "teaching commentary" without all the right theology!
I bought this commentary thinking that I would learn some great theology and such, but I guess I didn't look at the cover close enough at the time to see where the author was taught his theology: Dallas Theological Seminary. Throughout the commentary there seems to be a "dispensational" slant where it can be applied (more often than one might think). If you agree with dispensationalism (the Scofield type, that is) then you may find this OK. But for that reason, I do not approve of using this tool, especially to teach younger Christians and children, who are not as discerning about these things. If you are a "discerning teacher", then it CAN be useful...but be warned. I think there are more solid choices.
Mr. Richards has put much work into this and, again, it can have some use... hence my giving it three stars. I just wish his theology was more solid with the covenants in the Bible not the man-observed epochs/dispensations that seem to influence his perspective.

This is a Bible commentary for teaching or study
This is such an awesome book. He is a great writer. He has excellent commentaries as he goes through the bible book by book. It can be used for any age. One can hear the love he has for God poured out in this book. I like it.

For Sunday School teachers, first the Bible, then the T.C.
If you teach Sunday School and you have to prepare your own lessons the Teachers Commentary is an excellent resource for completing your task. This book can be used by teachers of children as well as teachers of adults. It gives a clear understanding of difficult passages as well as "links to life" and questions that you can use to focus your class. One of the great joys of teaching is knowing how much that you will learn about God yourself with the assistance of the Teachers Commentary.

Just an outline of substance
This is a good book if you just want to know what's out there in terms of the different categories of technology. The author spends almost no time on any one technology, so this is purely just an overview book.

Good for non-techies only
I found this book disappointing, since I was expecting more depth. It provides an easy-to-understand, very general, overview of many wireless topics. It does not, however, as the description states, give a comprehensive look at the industry with details. I am a software engineer, new to the cellular field, and was looking for more technical depth to get me started. This book did not provide that depth. It's more of a mass market look at wireless technology.

Excellent Resource
This book is informative yet still easy to comprehend. My collegue whom has been in the telecom industry for years recommended this book to me when I decidend to jump on the telecom bandwagon.

Commitment Deepened; Promises Claimed; Prayers Answered
This is a handy "little" reference for strengthening your relationship with God, claiming His promises when you are in need and finding answers to prayers uttered in His Word.

I call it "little," because it will fit in your pocket. But, as the subtitle says, it contains 700 Prayers and Promises. Have you ever wondered how God answers The Lord's Prayer? It's in there.

From the introduction: "There are three sections in this booklet, and in each section the verses are in random order, to avoid suggesting that a pattern of thought or teaching is being presented.

"The first section..., 'Your Very Personal Relationship With God' is filled with wonderful truths, truths containing promises that are now yours in Christ.

"'God's Promises When You Are In Need' contains truths that speak to special needs.

"'Your Prayers . . . God's Answers' is filled with prayers uttered by Old and New Testament people and God's answers to their prayers.

Wherever you are in your Christian walk, this book can help you draw nearer to God; claim His promises and believe that He "will be with you always, to the very end of the age."

The Illustrated Concise Bible Handbook - Not Bad At All !
This is a big book. A Very big book. It contains overviews of the old and new testaments, background insights, archaelogical findings, maps, charts, illustrations and even photos. The text is separated into book, then chapters, then blocks of verses. There's even questions at the end of most paragraphs to make you think about what you've just read and how you can apply it to your life. For each Book, you get a summary, and outline of the main themes, then plain and understandable insights into each chapter with titled paragraphs. In the appendicies there's the meaning of names, records of miracles and parables, and even a list of trees and flowers of the bible - but what you'd need that for I've no idea. Written in plain language, this book is easy to understand and helpful in applying the truths of scripture to daily life. An asset to any biblical bookshelf.
