First material from Eva Remington's diaries
Here's a biography that will interest the artist's fans. It explores the extent to which Remington's Eastern roots and his determined and independent wife influenced his work.
Remington was a man of large appetites who, in spite of a pampered childhood, spotty academic career and a few business failures, established a solid reputation with his sketches. He then went on to worldwide acclaim for his bronzes and paintings.
The authors are the first to have access to Eva Remington's diaries, which provide new insight into the life of this great artist of the American West.

Nice and Simple Central Arizona Compendium
This is a nice collection of 70 hikes in the central arizona area, for Sedona, Prescott, the Bradshaw mountains, Sierra Prieta, Juniper Mesa, Mingus Mountain, and Grantite Mountain areas. The presentation is simple and direct. Each hike has a road-to-trailhead map and description as well as a trail map and trail description. Each also has an interesting altitude profile diagram. B&W photos are included for many hikes. Also includes latitude and longitude for tailheads so you can feed it into a GPS. If you are planning some hiking time in the Prescott, Verde Valley, or Sedona area, this is a good book to have.

nice NIN book
This is not a tell all book and most hard-core nine inch nails fans probably won't learn anything new about Trent but that's not the point of this book. Almost all of the book's information seems to have come from previous published magazine articles about Trent. Some parts reading it seems like deju vu. It tells the Trent/NIN story up to the Natural Born Killers Soundtrack. It includes a discography of the CDs NIN has released and the soundtracks NIN music is on before the Perfect Drug. The book contains many full page sized glossy pictures of Trent. See Trent caked in mud at Woodstock, Trent with a nose ring, Trent performing on stage, etc.
If you're a new NIN fan, it's a good way to learn about Trent and NIN. If you're an older fan, it's a good way to refresh on some things.

Pioneer Historian
As a young college student, Francis Parkman, the later noted historian of the early West, goes to the land of the Lakotas and experiences their life. This is a personal history of the travels of the author through the lands of the Lakota before the great American westward expansion. Tales of Indian life and their "wars" with each other. Also tells first hand of the author's maturation in this environment. Should be required reading for any "lover of the wild west" because "This Was The It Was".

A basic introduction to Remington Firearms of the 1800s
Robert W. D. Bell has done a good job of writing a book that will catch the eye of the novice collector or even the the average gun owner but has enough serious content to be of use to serious Remington collectors. It is concise and well layed out with beautifully photographed firearms which be a real help in identifing that old Remington gun that Grandpa had or be the first book an antique dealer consults when finding the word Remington on an old gun. Some will feel that it could have gone deeper into variations and serial numbers and such but others would find this boring. All in all this is a really good book.
