Volcano Adventure
In this exiting book. Hal and Roger explore volcanos with Dr. Dan. When they find out he is half crazy they think that could only add to there danger.

Volcano Adventure
Volcano Adventure is an excellent book by Willard Price, who combines adventure and fiction with true facts to create a superb book about Hal and Roger, 14 and 19, who go exploring volcanoes around the Pacific rim. This is the fourth book of the fourteen in the adventure series by Willard Price.

Student from St. Louis
This is a great book along with the rest of the Adventure book series by Willard Price. Although these book are educational, they are also very interesting, great, suspenseful, and have excellent characters! I encourage everyone to read these books and to order them from amazon.com!

Review of African Adventure
Dodgy knowledge of animals and contempt towards accurate writing - Price ruins the adventure book. The series are so formulaic, and you get increasingly bored towards the end of the book

great adventure for everyone
I too read all the Hunt Boys books as a child, and I'm very much a girl. These are good stories for all ages and all gender. Some were written I think after I stopped reading them, and as soon as I get the cash I plan to buy all that I can find. One of the areas he wrote about, the Mountains of the Moon, are in Rwanda and the Parc de Volcans, today the site of much revolution, as well as the venue for Diane Fossey's mountain gorilla studies. They are NOT in libraries any more. I very much recommend these for the scientifically minded child.

This is a great book to invest in, and it's educational!
This book, about Hal, John, and Roger Hunt is great for avid or interested readers of all ages. It is educational, yet fun and exciting. Also try the rest of the adventure book series by Willard Price. As the three Hunts take a safari to Africa, more adventures occur, and more also in the several other great books! Amazon's the place to get them, and there great!

many tense adventures of catching various arctic animals
Hal (20 years old) and Roger Hunt (15 years old), sons of a world-famous zoologist, are sent to Greenland on a daring expedition. Their father want's them to collect as many arctic animals as they can get and transport them right in New York. He intend's to sell them to the zoo which can take the best care of them. With a boy they met, named Olrik and a polar bear Nanook they tamed, they set off for the ice cap in pursuit of the rarest creatures of the Arctic. But the ice cap holds many dangers so the expedition becomes very complicated. The Hunts are always in life danger not just because of dangerous animals but also because crime here goes undetected. A despicable hunter named Zeb is out to harm them. They are suppose to bring a walrus, the polar bear, big bearded seal, sea lion, musk ox, narwhal, wild reindeer, caribou, humpback whale, sea otter and the Greenland shark. Although knowledge is not everything, luck is very important. They caught all of them but everyone was caught in a very strange way; for instance, they caught the bear by sitting on him or a narwhal when he got stuck in their kayak and was haled to the shore. Every animal needed a different procedure none of them deffinetly wasn't easy. Whet they caught everything they could in Greenland they set of to Alaska. It was a sad farewell especially from Olrik and one-foot man and his family. They could not do it without drops of tears in their eyes. A few animals more were caught in Alaska of course witha great help of a sleeping gun and of course Nanook. There is no doubt they survived some the most exciting and thrilling months in their life. They flew back to NY. Their father was full of enthusiasm to see such beutiful rare animals and of course even more to see thir sons which have done such a great job. The last thing he said was that the money will go into a trust for them so they could get the education they need to be a wildlife scientists. The time will come when they will know the animals inside out.

Poor Transition into Algebra and High School Math
This book is commonly used by grade schools as a transition for students to get acquainted with algebra topics and prepare for high school math courses. Sadly, this book is poorly laid out, skipping back and forth between topics like a ping pong ball, and often pampers the reader to an extent of which is clearly childish. Even grade school students who were polled often find the pictures both useless and distracting. The chapters of this book also waste space, while providing very little mathematical content. If you are reading this book, or thinking about getting this book for a school environment, you should seriously consider that this book in no way prepares students for high school math courses. Why 2 stars then? The overwhelming use of pictures and comics to portray mathematics may provide easier to understand concepts for children with learning disabilities; but is often distracting.

Very Helpful
I had to prepare for some college placement exaims and needed a refresher course. This book was a trememdous help to me!
