Not the best mad libs.
This would not be my best choice of mad libs simply because many of the stories are quite similar, about movie stars or something. The categories are't even that fun anyway. I hardly got a laugh out of mine or anyone else's words. Go buy some of its more popular titles.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....
This book is the perfect cure for insomniacs. Not recommended for those new to French history. History should be written by great story tellers and not by the Sandman!

Not for general readers
If you are looking for an entertaining review of French history (as I was), this is not it. It focuses almost entirely on economic, sociological, etc., trends instead of people and events (e.g., there is a tedious amount of information about French demographics and economic activity in the 15th century, but Joan of Arc gets only one sentence). This might be a good textbook for college students who already have a solid grounding in French history, but if (like me) you are new to French history and just want to read an interesting account of what happened, you should buy some other book.

Pithy History
Stars awarded, as noted by earlier reviewers, depend upon one's expectations. I agree that the book is not for those new to information-laden (academic type) history books, nor is it written to amuse. It is only exactly what is indicated on the title: A Concise History of France. And a good value, if that's what you want.

Gilchrist's Guide to Golf Collectibles
Published in Paperback by Alexander Books (1998)
Author: Roger E. Gilchrist
Amazon base price: $29.95
Average review score:

If purchasing for irons or putters, look elsewhere
Book is more focused on tickets, programs and autographs. It is absolutely worthless for identifying and finding values for irons and putters. It lumps generations of irons into a single category, even if the iron was completely redone and just kept the same name.

Mostly good information for the collector
I thought it was mostly very useful information for the collector, however one piece seemed to be missing, "golf balls" I would think that this particular piece would be important since that is what golfers hit around the links.

Authoritative & Complete Golf Ephemera Source
After years of collecting and researching golf clubs, balls, equipment and literature, I was very pleased to find Gilchrist's Guide to Golf Collectibles. With the explosion in interest in vintage links-related materials, I found this guide to be the most up-to-date and complete resource yet. The portion devoted to golf publications is especially impressive, and essential to anyone even the least bit interested in collecting or selling literature related to golf. Why not five stars? I'm waiting for the next edition.

Roger Price's Original and startling theory of avoidism! : A guide to dynamic lethargy for people who just want to lie around

Avoidism 1958 Style
Recenly, I read Roger Prices book, which was written in the 50s. It had not only humor of its day, but I found it to be ahead of its time, and relevant to today. The examples were outrageous, and the drawings were crass, but the ideas he came up with were no different than the way the average person of the 2000s might think, although not say so publicly, as Roger did. One example in particular which illustrated 1 man as a handsome hunk, who wanted to be an avoidist, with the end result, showing what not to look like, is the average good looking guy of today. Roger put alot of his own opnions in, but the book was interesting enough for me to look his name up, and see his future.
