The McKeown books are great.
Obviously, I haven't read this latest edition of the price guide since it won't be available until April. I have purchased two previous editions and they were worth the money. I look forward to the release of the latest edition. Every camera collector should have this price guide. Unlike Lind's List Camera Price Guide and Master Data Catalog, this book gives good information and pictures to help you identify cameras and grow in knowledge. I haven't utilized my Lind's book, but I take my McKeown's book on every collecting expedition.

Comments on Price Guide to Antique and Classic Cameras
Like previous editions, this exceptionally well organized, indexed and illustrated book is the leader in its field. It is a must for serious collectors of classic cameras and related items.

Camera Collector's Bible
McKeown's Price Guide to Antique and Classic Cameras is the Bible for camera collectors. It is a must, since it contains almost all of the information needed to identify a camera, including, when it was made, any variations and a value of the camera. It will pay for it's self the within a very short time, maybe even the first time you use it to puchase and/or sell a camera.

Fitness for Life!
When Joan Price says, "Yes, You Can!" get in shape, she not only keeps her promise, but gives you a handbook that provides everything you need to know to start and stick with an exercise program for life.

I was introduced to Joan at a time when I was physically and emotionally exhausted. Alcoholism was rapidly destroying my body and soul. Joan designed an exercise program that allowed me to gradually replace an unhealthy lifestyle with healthy eating and exercise choices. She truly makes fitness a "treat, not a treatment."

Her book provides me with the daily guidance and motivation to maintain new, healthy habits without the expense or intimidation of a health club. For anyone dedicated to physical and emotional recovery, this book is the one to have.

A very readable book about getting and staying in shape
This book is written for everyone who has ever made up excuses why they can't excercise. It is very easy to follow, it encourages rather than discourages. I was lucky enough to meet Joan, and she is an inspiration to me because she, using her own method of exercise, has overcome the results of two very serious auto accidents. She is living proof of the success of her teachings.

A personal trainer and custom fitness consultant in a book!
Joan Price provides insight and advice on all aspects of travelling the path from less-than-fit to healthy fit. She warns of paths that seem good but lead astray from the goal and waste time. Her coverage of nutrition and exercise is complete yet concise and her knowledge surfs the leading edge of science and research.

However the most compelling reason to read Joan's book is the motivation she provides. You will learn of the tragic events in her life and how she used the methods described in her book to recover beyond all her doctor's expectations.

Bottom line: Less than $20 and a few hours reading will return a lifetime of benefits starting almost immediately.

Yes, I use all her methods and, yes, they work!

This book is EXACTLY what I needed to get in shape.
What a wonderful idea! So many good suggestions that I am able to use daily with virtually no cost in dollars or time. Had I known before that getting in shape could be so easy I could have saved years of frustration. I like Joan's advice so much that I am ordering books for all my customers (I am a business owner). Highly Recommended. :-)

Joan Price Does it Again
I have all of Joan's books, because she actually makes exercise fun, but this may be my favorite. I kept thinking I was too busy to exercise and have instead found that I can add together exercise "minutes" to make up a great fitness program. Who knew I'd be exercising in the shower with my wash cloth???? P.S. This book is my new favorite gift item. I bought it as a birthday gift and for both mothers and fathers day gifts, and everyone loves it.

A little humor along with exercise tips
I just got this book yesterday and I am really enjoying it. I didn't expect it to be so funny! (I always like a bit of humor along with my exercises.) I am an aerobics instructor so I read a lot of exercise books. I can already tell this is going to be one of my favorites.

I think I'll just go and "floss" my thighs now...

Hawk in the Wind

This is a great book and it is exciting.
I really liked the story and read it every night until I was done. It was interesting to read about the Hopi and Navajo as I was traveling with my grandparents in the north part of Arizona. I like to read about horses and other kids. It was great!

A story about an unusual friendship
Hawk in theWind is a wonderful book about a Hopi boy and a Navajo girl who take an adventure to Canyon de Chelly. Many things happen to them along the way, and the story keeps you wondering what is going to happen next. I like the book because of the descriptions of the characters and the setting. I could picture everything as I was reading. One of the main reasons I like this book is because there are beautiful horses in the story. I could see myself riding them. I think you should read this book because it will teach you about what life was like for the Hopi and Navajo people in the nineteenth century. Not only that, but this book is a lot of fun to read. You don't want to put it down.

Great resource for collectors and modern majolica-artists.
First saw this magnificent volume at a collector's home, and had to acquire a copy for my library as inspiration for my own artistic endeavors with majolica.

One of the definitive books on Victorian Majolica
People all over the world treat this as the "Bible" of Victorian Majolica. It is the best.

Stunning and informative
Having had the chance to borrow a friend's copy, I soon found that I had to have one of my own. The photographs of these wonderful boxes are stunning and makes me wish I could have one of everything in this book. The price guides are accurate and the general information interesting.

Collector's Encyclopedia of Barbie Dolls & Collectibles
This is a must for anyone who collects vintage Barbies and related items. It contains information and prices from the first Barbie starting with 1957 to 1976. It has all marks from those times. Also, pictures with information each year, which dolls were released and what clothes they were wearing. They have a year by year section, with information on other Mattel dolls, Ken, Midge and other rare ones. This is the most informative Barbie book I've read.

Antiques Freaks Unite!
So you've always been that one freak in a bunch? The one who continually drives their friends off the deep end because of your knee-bending worship to antique toys, stoneware or blanket chests? Well if this is you, take heart! Now, with this book, the Keno twins have finally brought the enthralling world of Americana to a popular audience. They are sure to convert a whole new generation of antiquing freaks with their pulse-quickening stories of adventuring over land and across seas for that perfect piece of American furniture history. No longer will you feel a fool for dragging some uninterested friend or family member to a local museum or flea market only to hear them complain of the heat. Soon they will be joining you with entusiasm, as the dusty world of antiques is bound to take on a new brand of chic with the success of Hidden Treasures. If you're a seasoned professional with hunting stories of your own, you'll feel right at home with the descriptive images of the chase. But beginners are not excluded either, as each chapter is interwoven with priceless tips of the trade and heartening twists that make even a baffled amateur feel empowered to take up the hobby and run with it. Kudos to the Kenos!!!

A highly educational, fun, and interesting book!
Antiques Roadshow twins Leigh Keno and Leslie Keno take readers on a fascinating journey through their early childhood and adult life of antique collecting. From digging up old bottles in a creek and collecting rare bits of stoneware to the vast international world of high stakes antique collecting-this book will have you enthralled for hours-even if you don't care for smelly old furniture! By the time one is half way through their book one can feel the excitement starting to catch on. Who knows? Someone who reads this book might be motivated enough to become the next Sotheby's or Christie's president!

For The Love of Old American Things
"Hidden Treasures" is a friend for anyone whose pulse has ever reacted to the sight of a grand piece of antique furniture. For those who have ever become breathless or teary-eyed over fruniture, it should be required reading. The most appreciated surprise of "Hidden Treasures" is how generous the Kenos are with their knowledge -- reading this book is almost like being enrolled in an advanced course in American furniture complete with field trips and historic background. There's even a textbook like glossary for quick reference to terms.

The world of the Keno brothers is one of extreme privilege and yet, as we travel from their modest and nurturing childhood to the decisive playgrounds of the wealthy -- Sotheby's, Christie's, and the Winter Antiques Show -- we feel welcome, if not at home. That is, perhaps, the most endearing charm of these identical gentlemen -- they are seemly unaffected by their palacial world -- driven primarily by their passion for historic masterpieces of American furniture and a childlike enthusiasm for the hunt. The honesty and power of their passion ignites every page of their book as it does everyday of their lives. And, it is so infectious that many will be inspired to begin plotting their first five, six, seven, or eight-figure purchase of Americana.

My only slight disappointment was with some of the writing. The masterful talent of Thatcher Freund, author of "Objects of Desire" could have been put to good use on this project. I only wish he would have been part of the team. Then, the book would have been perfect -- an American Masterpiece.

If you haven't bought this book, then you better get it soon
As part of the 5 series volume, this series contains some updates. From my previous reviews of the collection series, I've mentioned that if you are beginner, a keen buyer/seller, or an experienced collector/trader of Nippon items, then you need to have this book, along with the other series. Like the previous series, this book contains information on Nippon porcelains. It provides actual photos, and price ranges for each items featured. Nippon porcelains have their disctinctive mark, based on the year and place they were manufactured, so this book gives you what to look and watch out for, in order to identify the authencity of the item.

Get this book if you're a Nippon trader/buyer
Like the series 2 book, this is part of the 5 series volume. If you are beginner, a keen buyer/seller, or an experienced collector/trader of Nippon items, then you ought to get this book, along with the other series. The book contains a lot of information on Nippon porcelain collections. It provides nice photos, and price ranges on each items featured. It also gives you the marks to look and watch out for, in order to identify the authencity of the item.
