No details
This book has some good examples, but lacks any detail.
It skims over all the complicated topics.
Does not do a very good job at demonstrating how to build applications that integrate a web browser and an ip phone.
Very introductory.

Required reading for those looking to create phone services
Developing Cisco IP Phone Services takes the reader through all of the steps necessary to create usable service applications. A lot of the info covered here just isn't mentioned anywhere else, including Cisco's web site. Even though services are constructed from standard protocols, creating ones that work well can be surprisingly challenging. I keep a copy of this book on my desk at all times as a reference. The user interface sections are quite useful. Spending time on how to design a service is at least as important as how one is written. On the down-side, however, I found the included code to be Windows-centric, and also wished they had included source code for the tools. But, the included information enabled me to write my own tools. I think that speaks for the quality of what you'll find here.

Developing Cisco IP Phone Services very useful
I needed to get an in depth understanding of the way services for the IP Phone were developed so as to develop security policies to help protect network assets. This book gave me exactly what I needed to know. It will be very useful to anyone who wants to develop XML based services for the Cisco phones.

Good Solid Specialist Dictionary
The Longman Dictionary of Language Teaching and Applied Linguistics provides a concise place where the language teacher or language researcher can find definitions of terms they don't remember in their field of specialization. It gives not only lengthy contextualized definitions but also provides references for those who want to look deeper into a topic. The dictionary also provides cross references to other relevant definitions.

The only thing that might be considered in revision is putting the words into categories under specialization as a possible appendix (i.e. sociolinguistics, language testing, psycholinguistics). This might help and entice the reader to look at the dictionary as a learning tool as well as a reference tool. This would provide an additional way to use the dictionary in order to learn specific vocabulary for a specialization under the umbrella of applied linguistics or language teaching.

Eyewitness Reader, Plants bite back
Another interesting book from DK that kids will love. It was well written and kept my interest all the way to the end. It's nice to have books that that are interesting and informative that my kids really like to read, I even learned something from this book. The photographs and illustrations are wonderful. Geography, history and lots of science all in one book.

Age Appropriate?
In reading through this book, I was greatly dismayed to see the graphic depictions of killing. Yes, we know that spies are often forced to do unsavory things. However, when writing for such a young audience, authors typically don't address them quite so vividly. As a former DK distributor, I was greatly disappointed to receive a book of such questionable content for my 8-year-old. I would recommend almost any other DK Reader, sight unseen, above this one.

Spies
Who doesn't like spies books? Well I do well in one of the spy books.I think this is the best spy books in the world because it has my favorite spy 007 and it also talk about spies even if it was a long time ago like Arnold he is a bitsh soldiers but they thought thay he was a spy and you have to take a risk you if you don't can't be a spy.

I recomend this book to anyone who like spy book and want to be one when they grow up like me I want to be a spy when I grow up and I like this book to because it show you how to be a spy.

Mystery Spies
The author of this book is Richard Platt. This book is a very good book. Spies try to copy its rivals country planes.Spies spy for many different reasons. Some spies because they been blackmailed. Spies have always had to work in secret. They write important messages in a code.Codes turn messsages into a jumble of letters that look like nonsense-hiding the original meaning.Only the sender and the receiver knows how to read the secret code. The deadliest killers of all were the 12-century Japanese spies known as Ninja"invisible men."Spies at wartime must make sure nobody suspects them.Unlike a regular soldier, spies have to live, dress, and talk like the enemy they are fighting. After I read this book,I know a lot of things about spies. I would recommend this book to all third graders. I wish you like it.
