Great Mind-Bogglers
This book is really neat for those of you trying to boggle yourmind with brain puzzles. One of my favorites is "If King Midassits on gold, who sits on silver?" (You'll have to figure that out on your own) Anyway, it is very funny and makes you laugh at yourself when you see the answers to some!

No incentive, just a collection of words copied.
There was no insight into this book. All they did was look at the poems already written, and take out the last words.

Top notch
This book is engaging--not merely words in a list. And the accompanying poetry is fantastic and witty. Espy loves the language and this shows plainly in this great volume.

The greatest rhyming dictionary I have ever seen
This is the perfect book for any aspiring author or song writer

Chicken Run Cracked Up Joke Book

Jokes Jammed Jaggedly!
This was a funny joke book that my friends at school and my parents enjoyed. It had great laughter and I hope one day they make another Chicken Run movie, and maybe there will be a new Chicken Run joke book!

Geared towards younger readers, still fun for all ages
I am a huge fan of Chicken Run and received this book as a present. There are some jokes here that you may have heard a million times, but the inclusion of characters and mannerisms from the movie improves them. There is a clever take on the old, ever-annoying why-did-the-chicken-cross-the-road gag in the beginning. However, what I really enjoyed more than the jokes was the artwork inside, particularly Bunty stuck under the fence, and Rocky and Ginger on the rooftop. Enjoyable fare for any Chicken Run fanatic.

African Art, a true collectors edition.
One of the most complete general works on African Art and well worth purchasing for detailed information on the variation in art form, tribe, country and art style in Africa. Almost full tribal location information and regionalised art details makes this book a must for the serious collector and student on the subject. From early Egyptian to more recent times, it is a book you have to read several times to understand that no one can ever know the true depth and complexity within the African Art world. A good all round reference book on a much missunderstood and underated art form.

Psuedo- advice guy Louis Phillips shows us his greatest wit yet in this selection. I was attracted to this book because walruses are my absoulute favorite animal. Even though most of the book is not about walruses, it was still a pleasure. Covering every topic form English to History. How do you lift a walrus with one hand? You'll just have to read this to find out.

Confusing, convoluted, not worth your money.
This text is one of the most hard-to-read finance book I have ever come across. The authors must have been mentally retarded or on drugs, or something. Instead of explaining a concept in one page Brigham and company will take up to 30 pages to explain in the most confusing twisted language. I pity the student who has to go thru what I went thru to learn intermediate finance concepts. This book is the biggest waste of your hard earned money!

Average
I wasn't too impressed with this text. I found that many of the chapters were incredibly verbose, and seemed to confuse me even more in some instances. Perhaps one of the problems (obviously not Brigham's fault) was that my prof "wizzed" through some of these chapters, so reading the "wordy, never-ending" chapters was overwhelming. Further, I think that some concepts could have been more simplified, when instead Brigham seemed to ramble and "lost" me.

In short, I think some "academics" (profs, grad students, etc) might be impressed with the depth with which Brigham wrote. However, not all of the students are on the same level, and this must be taken into consideration when the author revises the text. We are using the text as a guide for learning, not as a means to evaluate the author's aptitude in the field of finance...

Don't expect much
I saw this book in the bookstore and it looked like a sports lovers dream. After receiving it, I realize it was a mistake to buy. There are so many errors in this book they aren't even worth describing. Also, the college names section doesn't even give a backround on the names. The book reads like it was written by old men.

Book would be better but for many errors
Contains much info on sports nicknames, but the many errors are maddening, especially since a lot of them could have been eliminated by anyone with a rudimentary knowledge of sports. Examples--book states that "Orioles" was first applied to a pro baseball team in 1833; several NFL teams are placed in the wrong division/conference; the Indiana Pacers are alleged to have taken their name from the ABA team; they actually WERE that ABA team. I could go on--one entry mentions the 7th game of the World Series, that series went 4 games. Many ommissions--in the list of origins of team names, it is not stated how, for example, the Devil Rays and Marlins got their names.

A handy reference book to have around!
Who in known as Euro-Magic? What College is know as the Fighting Hurricanes? What was Julius Boros's nickname? Has the Golden Bear ever meet the Golden Jet? Well this book can certainly answers these questions.

The complete book of sports nicknames is one of, if not the most, complete text ever written about nicknames. Comprehensive and detailed from a to z for both persons, teams and just about anything else related to sports.

This book is not a novel that tells a story, what this book does, however, is give you a glimpse of the person or team and a brief synopsis of the meaning of the nickname. A very quick and easy read.

Priced to fit anybody's budget this book will make and excellent gift for the true sports fan. Keep it by your side and you'll have a ready reference when someone asks What the nickname of George Halas?
