Goofy Good Clean Jokes for Kids!

A good joke book. Very goofy, very good, very clean!
This joke book was certainly very goofy, and I loved the Knock Knock Joke which went :

Knock Knock.
Who's there?
Popeye.
Popeye who?
Popeye've got to have the car tonight.

There were some jokes that I've heard, but the others, like the Popeye Knock Knock Joke above, I had not heard of them before, and I told some of them to my sister, who didn't "get it". Just like I've said, very goofy, very good, and very clean! D23H

Understanding Woodturning is a Treasure
Understanding Woodturning by Ann and Bob Phillips is highly recommended for anyone wishing to refine their woodturning skills. It also shows what goes into the production of a beautiful wooden object. I have the pleasure of owing one small piece of their work and bought the book to learn more about this talented couple.

The 150 page book is brimming with tips and ideas, as well as important safety information. There are several projects which can be completed in a few hours, using a hobby lathe. The color pictures of their work are simply breathtaking. I was intrigued. I think this selection would make a great gift for any woodworker on your list! by Barbara Camp, Yoflow@aol.com

conspiratorial whispers
There is a good deal to recommend this book. It is for the most part well-written, and the idea behind the book is outstanding. However I have quite a few problems with it. The opening tale by John Tynes is somewhat too short to overcome by backstory and characterization a rather ugly incident that takes place within it, equating experience with the Deep Ones to a version of combat syndrome, and that taints the rest of the book. Other tales fare somewhat better, and have some very thought-provoking concepts, adding a bit of science fiction to the world of the Mythos. One can become a ghoul, for instance, by reading a certain book, and a certain Great Old One can tear holes in the spacetime continuum in order to attract males for her followers (kind of silly, but effective within the tale). On the whole, I liked it, but for me that is the crux of the biscuit-I wanted to love it, and did not. Fell far short of the expectations that were engendered in me by the blurbs on the back cover and the front cover recommendation from Lucius Shepard. Can't give it a thumbs-up, but worth looking at if you have the money. Slim for the price.

A good read, but seems a bit over priced
I really enjoyed reading this book. As with any collection of short stories, I liked some more than others, but there were none in here that I didn't like. There were a couple that I consider to be real gems. My only real complaint is that it's not much book for 12 bucks. It's about half an inch thick, with eight stories in it. I guess maybe it's priced higher than most paperback books because of the cost involved for a small company to have smaller quantities of a book like this printed, but I must admit I was a bit disappointed with it in this respect.

Buy it while you can...
I have always been a fan of way-out-there lunatic sci-fi/horror but unfortunatly most of the sci-fi and horror out there is just really insipid banal mainstream garbage. This book is different, the stories pull no punches and will blow you away. There is some violent violence and BIZZARE sexual stuff in this book so it is probably NOT for kids. Highly recommended and far better than the other Delta Green fiction "Rules of Engagement."

How Can I Be Sure: A Pre Marriage Inventory
Published in Paperback by Harvest House Publishers, Inc. (1978)
Author: Bob Phillips
Amazon base price: $6.99

Ok if you're a practicing Christian
This book is thorough in terms of covering issues related to married life, but does focus on religious issues and encourages the reading of many Bible passages as part of the questions and homework. If you're any religion other than Christian or atheist/agnostic you might have a problem with this. You could just ignore those parts of the book, but it just made me annoyed. Good format with space to write your answers right in the book.

Excellent Beginner Questionaire
I gave this book to my boyfriend for our last anniversary as we have been discussing marriage more seriously. We had a wonderful time filling it out together and it helped to clear up some of the fears about superficial differences (he is an engineer and I am an actress) that we feared might lead to problems in a potential marriage. This book guided us to concentrate on the more important matters: our love of children, our dreams and goals for marriage, and our mutual desire to passionately and joyfully serve God. This book was a great way to start our journey of moving towards engagement. I recommend it highly, but would also encourage couples to read other works as well which might have more in depth and thought provoking questions, especially ones that address unforseen "it-could-never-happen-to-us" problems.

Good Christian Guide
If you are a Christian and are considering marriage, this is an excellent starting point to find out more about your potential mate. I would guess that most divorces actually take place because couples never really got to know each other well enough before they got engaged. Sadly, most couples decide to marry, then think about asking questions.

This book covers the main areas pretty well but I think left out other areas that could cause potential problems if not discussed. A more comprehensive book is 1000 Questions for Couples. I think it can only be gotten at questionsforcouples. com

Phillips' Book of Great Thoughts Funny Sayings: A Stupendous Collection of Quotes, Quips, Epigrams, Witticisms, and Humorous Comments. for Personal
Published in Paperback by Tyndale House Pub (1993)
Author: Bob Phillips

Neither Great nor Funny
Probably would best serve entry level speakers. Quick reference for simple needs. The kind of stuff "Inro to Speech" in college was made of. Sparce, very sparce, on the humorous side and lacking citations for many quotations. I'll keep it on the shelf but it won't be the first place I look for quotes or quips.

rewarding read ..
this is a fantastic book to have around to read thoroughly or just to browse at your leisure. the quotes and comments vary a great deal covering many different issues and situations.

this book would come in especially handy for an individual who speaks in public. chances are if you're looking for an ice breaker or a clever anecdote, it's in this book.

organized. intelligent. a nice addition to any library.

Very hard learning curve, not for beginners.
I'm a user of 3D Studio R4, and so I thought that I could easily transfer the lofting skills into 3ds max without too much of a problem. This book, however, doesn't use many of the techniques used in the Inside 3DStudioR4 book by New Riders. It's definitely not for beginning users looking to learn the fundamentals of using 3DSmax. I was disappointed at its learning curve, but I assume if you're comfortable with 3DSmax1, then this book might be for you. If somebody knows a book for 3DSmax2 that is in the same vein as Inside 3DStudio R4, then please email me ;)

GREAT BOOK!!
Many books on the market will give you step by step instructions how how to create a scene, or create certain effects. Although this is sometimes handy, it doesn't easially allow the user to incorperate the skills they learned into their own work.

Inside 3D Studio Max shows you the concepts behind how the program works, and allows you to apply these concepts, and skills to your own work, rather than a preformatted tutorial. It is this fact, however, that makes the book not extremely useful for modelers who are new to the program. This book often speaks of the manual which ships with 3DS Max, and the writer made it clear that this was not yet ANOTHER MANUAL. Inside 3D Studio Max explores how to expand your ability.

If you have no prior modeling practice, read the manual which ships with Max, then buy this book. If you do that, you will appreciate what is taught in this massive book.

This is an overall GREAT book, and it has really helped me to become a much better 3D artist.

Another Classic from the Masters
There's a thing common to all classic books: even if you've read one from cover to cover you discover something new every time you open it. Things that you glossed over earlier suddenly start to make sense. This book is no exception. Since 'Inside 3D Studio Rel. 3' the authors have provided an unique insight into the world's most popular 3D programs. This book raises the standard even further, providing enough grip for the novice and a treasure trove of knowledge of the professional. The best thing about this book is the explanation of the PRINCIPLES behind 3D Studio MAX. Instead of the 'do this-screen shot-do that' methodology, the authors have concentrated in the core ideas behind every tool and procedure. If you want MAX to be an extension to your right brain, get this book. Read it all the time. Do the tutorials. Keep referring to it for ideas. You'll discover what you were missing with other books -- the real goods on making MAX dance to your tune.
