awesome!!! have to read!!!
The book was awesome. it was an inspiration to any christian

Inspiring
A man called Peter is inspiring to say the least. It reminds us of the purpose that God has for all of our lives, and encourages us to seek him to use us to the fullest extent possible. He certainly did that with Peter Marshall.

This is the story of a young Scotsman and his journey to God
I first read A Man Called Peter by Catherine Marshal over 30 years ago. The biography is spiritually uplifting in that Peter Marshall truly did live God's word. He did not judge his fellow human beings, but he also did not compromise his own beliefs. In this way, he won many hearts over to Christ. An example from the book has him saying to his wife, "you say the blessing Catherine, the Lord knows I'm not thankful for leftover turkey." He was a man who was driven to live and preach God's word, yet he always had time for those that needed him. A story that will bring both laughter and tears to your eyes!

Blood Type A: Food, Beverage and Supplement Lists
A quick reference to the hardback of the same name. You need this if you are to follow the diet religiously. Take it with you to the supermarket to figure out exactly what you can eat for your blood type.

Get Down to Business Fast!
I purchased this small companion book along with the big hardcover "Eat Right for Your Bloood Type." My 77-year-old uncle had convinced me that my family history (all blood type A+) indicated that I would benefit from following the eating plan. His comments and his experience were very persuasive.

If you accept the validity of Dr. D'Adamo's approach, there's no need to open the big book right away. With this small companion book, one can get down to business. By focusing on highly beneficial foods and avoiding the "poison" foods, it's easy to change your food selections and preparation style.

You can take the book into supermarkets, specialty foods stores and restaurants as a handy guide. You can bring it with you on vacation, business trips and dinner parties. You will quickly get a sense for the highly beneficial foods that you most enjoy. The book also makes it easy to experiment!

In many ways, using this book makes it fun to eat. It's easy to go meatless quickly. Yes ... one can even enjoy tofu (it's not bad ... really!). There are lots of great alternatives for protein that allow you variety and flexibility.

It's still a good idea to read the big book. But you can change your life right away with this small companion! I truly can feel a difference in my health after just two weeks.

This book needs more information
This book needs more information and some sort of telephone numbers or contacts to understand what exactly need to be done for certain problems. For example, it recommends some protocols to use, but it is not clear as to we should use all of it at one time or are they optional, meaning can we use any one of them. It will also be helpful if it says where these are available. This book was not as helpful as I expected it to be.

Comprehensive Volume for All Following the ER4YT Program
This updated 2002 volume supercedes D'Adamo's original title ER4YT as it adds secretor/non-secretor practical information regarding food choices for those who wish to further refine their diet.
Set up in an alphabetically arranged encyclopedia format, the text covers topics that range from the anthropology of the blood types, the history of blood types in medicine, a listing of conditions and diseases with relation to blood type and food choices for all 4 types.
If you are an advocate of the ER4YT program, this book is a must as is the delightful cookbook, 'Cook Right For Your Type'. I have been on the program at the advice of my health care provider for over 2 months and have slimmed down without really dieting all while feeling a heck of a lot better. Referring to this book, the cookbook as well as the original ER4YT help keep you interested --- as boredom resulting from monotonous food choices seems to be one of my number one problems with staying with any program.

PETER D'ADAMO - HE IS BECOMING A HOUSEHOLD NAME!
Peter D'Adamo has proven his expertise in the areas of food, nutrition and health in general. His previous books of the "well-known 4's" - "Eat Right", "Cook Right" and "Live Right" have become extremely popular and offer new insight into choosing the right foods based on your blood type. I have been following Peter's advice for years and as his books will reveal, "you are exactly what youe eat." His theories on how to improve one's health, energy and general feeling of well being are based on sound, reliable research.

This encyclopedia contains some of the information found in his previous books but he expands on his topics in greater detail. There is extremely helpful information provided on herbs and supplements for those who are into natural healing alternatives. The author also expands on various diseases and, with cancer being one of most-feared diseases, the information presented here was particularly informative and helpful. Whether it be cancer, diabetes or heart disease, most people probably worry about these life-threatening diseases at some point in their lives, particularly as we grow older. D'Adamo makes mention of various studies which support the claims he makes for his theories on various blood types.

This "Complete Blood Type Encyclopedia", like all of D'Adamo's other books, is highly recommended and worth far more than five stars in the rating. Thank you, Peter, for providing such enlightening reading material, which may ultimately help prolong our lives and improve the quality of our daily living.

This Eating Strategy Worked for Me
In July I was diagnosed with Adult ADD. I was also almost 20 lbs overweight. One and a half weeks after I tried eating mostly the foods recommended for my blood type I noticed my brain stopped racing and I felt more focused. Not all Adult ADD can be helped with diet but mine certainly was. About 2 months later I was 14 lbs lighter and I didn't diet. I simply mostly ate the recommended foods without being a slave to them. In 6 months I lost 19 lbs and now not only feel good but like the way I look. This book works for me. I now notice what happens to me physically when I eat certain foods. I love clams but recently they had my mind buzzing so I will eat them very sparingly. My weight varies by 2 lbs from day to day but stays in a comfortable range for me with no effort. It has also worked for my cousin who has a different blood type from mine. My Psychologist says eating can't be related to blood type but all I can say is that this book worked for me effortlessly and I recommend it freely to others.

It Works!
Here's some more anecdotal evidence in support of Dr. D'Adamo's ideas:

I was a vegetarian for 5 1/2 years, basically living on granola and non-fat yogurt, so I was amazed to find that at age 22, although I wasn't at all overweight, I had borderline-high cholesterol. If you've read this book, you can guess the rest--I'm type O, and that "healthy" diet was based on exactly the wrong food for me. My doctor at the time suggested severely limiting my intake of dairy products, and voila--my cholesterol dropped 80 points in a year, to 130.

Another example: a close family friend of mine, aged 50, suffered a near-heart attack and the outlook was grim. He switched to the right diet for his type, and HIS CHOLESTEROL DROPPED 60 POINTS IN ONE MONTH!!!!!! He's now in a low-risk group for cardiac disease. His doctors are amazed. Maybe they should read this book.

It flies in the face of conventional wisdom..and it WORKS!
I am a Type O in my mid-thirties and have suffered from several health problems for years - acid reflux, moderate obesity (usually 30-50 pounds overweight), severe constipation inexplicably followed by diarrhea, hypothyroidism (underactive), hypoglycemia, edema, fungal skin infections and a couple of others too gross to mention on the Web....I too had tried many of the "fad" diets, and had almost given up. I was very skeptical when I first read the book, but decided to try the plan when I realized I had nothing to lose....my continuing physical transformation has been nothing short of miraculous. I have lost 45 pounds since August of 1998. My skin problems have cleared up without benefit of medication and my energy level has increased considerably. D'Adamo presents his information in layman's terms, and it makes sense to me. I am not a doctor or a scientist, so maybe you think I don't know what I am talking about. But I will tell you this, the food plan has worked for me, I can only speak for myself. A friend at work (Type AB) has also been on the food plan and has lost over 20 pounds. I have not felt this good in a long time, or ever for that matter. Most of the critics of this book seem to be doctors or those involved in the practice of conventional medicine - what's wrong fellas, afraid this book is going to put you on welfare?

Let's Keep Christmas
One of Peter Marshall's most inspiring and memorable sermons -- a moving expression of gratitude that the Christ child came into the world, and a plea that we keep Christmas "in all the loveliness of its ancient traditions." The perfect gift -- a book the whole family will enjoy and treasure.

Let's Keep Christmas
This book is wonderful if you are not in the Christmas spirit. It will take you there. It is not a long book, it reads quick. It's a book that I will keep out all year long, after you read it you will understand why.

A welcome complement to D'Adamo's innovative book
At first, I was a big skeptic of the whole "blood type diet". However, Dr. D'adamo's research on food allergies is quite persuasive. His recommendations are simple: be aware of food sensitivities. He's not like Atkins or the Duchess of York, trying to find a quick fix. He simply explains that insulin/blood sugar imbalances, which affect many people and lead to sugar cravings, are helped through including more or less of certain foods that interact with the antigens on one's blood cells. Peter D'Adamo, a naturopath, peppers his book with anthropological insights that are also interesting. His theories seems a bit contradictory in places: for example, he does not reconcile the fact that many Asians are Type B with the fact that Type B "benefits the most from milk products". In fact, his overly-enthusiastic endorsement of milk products, in the case of type B, seems a bit skewed to me, especially given some of the research on how milk can cheese can cause a lot of inflammation. The section on herbs/supplements for the blood types has really changed the way I use herbs, for the better. At only [money], this book a a great deal. Give blood (they tell you your blood type) and then grab one of these little books.

Portrait of a brilliant man
This book is a piece that paints a portrait of byron, using facts rather than opinions which make it perfect for studies. It goes into detail about his troubled and disease ridden childhood, suffering most from a leg deformity commonly known as club foot, and later details his escipades as an adult and his final demise fighting for greek independance. certanly worth your time and money.

Helen Keller
Helen Keller was a blind and deaf child who learned how to read, write, talk, and communicate with the world. Her teacher, Anne Sullivan, helped her become a huge success in life and it's shown by the wonderful examples Helen sets for everyone: anybody can overcome his or her obstacles. Helen even wrote a book about herself, and all the celebrities wanted to meet her. I thought that the book was so inspiring. It teaches people that anybody can accomplish anything, as long as they put hard work into it. I recommend this book for people who are insecure, or want to become a better person in life.

Light by Terry Jennings
Terry Jennings is a name I'm familiar with in science books for young people. He has written another solid text on light in this book with nice suggestions for activities, but its content and presentation is a bit simplistic for 12-year-olds. While the reading level might be challenging, I feel this book is most appropriate for 7 to 10-year-olds.

cultural insights
Although this book is quite limited in it's perspective, it does offer both candid and posed tips on modern Russian culture. Mr. Yeltsin's copious jottings reveal his personal taste for style and political power. The writings also reveal some of the cultural challenges that plague the Russian people such as; peer presure among adults for consumption of vodka and the need for modern business people to find a moral code that will promote sound national and international business practices. The extensive political reporting which Mr. Yeltsin has voiced would indicate that Russian self-government is still in the developing stages and has many hurtles to pass. However the outlook is hopeful and not blindly so. One leaves the text wondering how we might come to learn more of President Putin's own style of politics. An interesting read for anyone studying modern Russian culture, this book is by no means an authoratative overview on the culture.

Interesting, but visibly one-sided
Yeltsin's memoirs are without doubt interesting and necessary source for everybody who's looking to understand what really has happened in Russia during 90s. But unfortunately this is only half or even less of that what Yeltsin really could tell us. First of all, this is not of course Yeltsin who has written this book. Real authors are Valentin Yumashev, who is also author of Yeltsin's previous memoirs, and Tatyana Dyatchenko, Yeltsin's daugther. Reading this book you could find almost in every chapter how authors had tried to save Yeltsin's face for history. They succeeded if reader is not well informed about Russia. But for them who have lived this through, Yeltsin's book is too one-sided and not really trustful piece.

Clear and logical explanations to Russian politics
No wonder that this book attracted such negative reaction from 'experts' in Russian politics. What seemed almost to everyone as illogical, bizarre behavior of a senile tsar suddenly becomes clear, simple and logical. Yeltsin describes day by day his struggle for power since he started his presidential race with support of only 3% of popular support. As one reads the book it becomes evident that Yeltsin always had a very clear and realistic picture of what was happening around him. He could let people believe that he was too sick and weak to rule, watched who, how and when tried to get the power. Like a good hunter Yeltsin stoke deadly blows on his foes when they truely believed he was under their control. Yeltsin analyzes the situation, decides who's his friend or foe, plans his actions and acts without remorse. The book reads like a novel that unfolds the secrets of Russian under carpet bulldogs fighting.
