Puddums: A Review
If you are a parent who is a cat owner then you must buy this book for yourself or your children. The illustrations are humorous and the storyline is one that any cat-owner can relate to. Anyone who owns a lazy, crazy cat will enjoy reading this book. It's especially suitable for those who like to spoil and cater to their cat's whims and idiosyncrasies.

Great for todders & Preschoolers
My sons (1&3) love this book! My 3yr. old LOVES to do all the animal sounds. This is a book that kids can really participate in and can help them learn to LOVE reading, which is our goal, right? So grab your child & a pillow & blankie and have some fun!
My kids love this book!

A great gift
This book makes a great gift for the any nature lover. It is well illistrated and full of facts.
Something for everyone
The great thing about this book is that there is an engaging, funny illustration on one page to set the stage and pique the child's interest, with simple rhyming text, and then on the other page there is a detailed paragraph on the featured critter full of interesting facts, vocabulary, and science concepts. So this book can be used by beginning and more advanced readers. The combination of humor and information is a winning combination for kids. I can see preschoolers and parents reading this book together, and then middle elementary school kids coming back to it later when they are looking for information to write reports.
I'm Taking a Trip on My Train

Great repetition that gets my son yelling out the words
This book is a rhyme that repeats itself adding a verse at a time. It uses pictures of various train cars, etc. that my son shouts out as we get to them. Great for 3-4 year olds.
#1 on our 3 yr old's request list!
We discovered this book at the library and it became a favorite. After returning it our 3 year old kept asking for "the train book" and we couldn't remember the title. Her persistance drove our detective work (do you have any idea how many juvenile train books there are?) and it is now a bed-time, back-seat, grandma's lap, any-old-time-favorite. It is also the first book our little girl "read" back to us! This book has great rhymes, details to rediscover, and new vocabulary leading to more new vocabulary. Special memories..and a big thumbs up from our little engineer!

book fan from oklahoma
This book is excellent for children. Through all of the articles of clothing that he puts on, they can begin to count, a good math lesson. They can also participate while you read the story aloud through the pictures of the clothes instead of the word. I loved this book and am adding it to my collection.
Little Kids in the Snow
Shirley Neitzel wrote a book called The Jacket I Wear In The Snow. The main character of the story is a little boy who tells a story. This story takes place at the little boy's house and it is in the winter. The book talks about the little boy and all the clothes that he has to wear outside. This book is different because it talks about clothes and replaces words with pictures of clothes, and it is in poem form. I think that the story is funny because it rhymes a lot. The illustrations are just like normal clothes, with a very nice tint drawn in with colored pencils. Overall, I really liked this story because it represents little kids and how they have to wear a lot of clothes outside, and that they cry sometimes when they get cold.

Barbara Frietchie
Parker's intriguing illustrations along with Whittier's historical poetry brought the story of the fictional character Barbara Frietchie to life. Set during the time of the Civil War, old Barbara Frietchie dares to stand up against Confederate troops (General Stonewall Jackson) and waves a Union flag. Various notes at the end provide readers with greater insight on historical aspects as seen through the poem. Parker's maps, setting and illustrations grasp the attention of the reader. This is a wonderful book for young readers who are interested in learning about the Civil War. I recommend this book for children ages 9 and above.
