For Gor lovers, juicy slavery scenes
Having read all of the Gor books, this is one of my favorites. For those who are into the slavery angle, this has the delicious forced submission of Judy Thornton to her former rival, Elicia Nevins, who makes Judy her abject slave. Turn about is fair play when Elicia is forced to submit as well.

The 21st Chronicle of Gor & still a wonderful read! :)
Why did John Normans books ever go out of print? War on Gor is a rousing and fearful affair---and when the armada of Cos landed and began its sweeping arch against the mighty city of Ar, Tarl Cabot was swept up in their drive. Outcast from Port Kar, rejected by the Priest Kings, Tarl fought now for his own redemption. With comrades at his side, barbarian warriors and daring women, free and slave, his plans went forward---until the mercenaries of Dietrich of Tarnburg disrupted the struggle as a mysterious third force. MERCENARIES OF GOR brings into action all the magic and conflict of that counter-Earth, as Tarl became the center of intrigue and treachery in the city of his greatest enemies. Definetely worth trying to get your hands on. :)

Great book with many interesting recipes
I've known John Sedlar since the mid 70's and eaten in several of the restaurants he's worked in and owned. In 1976 John started introducing his southwestern style recipes into the menu of "The Silo" in Manhattan Beach CA. they were a hit with the customers and I for one wanted some of his recipes. This book is the answer to my prayers, I have prepared many of the recipes and have not been disappointed with the results. the recipes are presented in a clear and consise manner with additional recipes for the various ingredients required in the main recipes. For any one who enjoys the "Modern Southwest" style of cooking this book is a must.
The New Economy of Oil: Impacts on Business, Geopolitics and Society

Wonderful Treatment of Important Subject
This an excellent study that forms a viewpoint for evaluating the next 20 years of oil and related energy isssues. I'm currently involved in such a study and find the book to be fascinating reading and extremely helpful in framing the possibilities. The focus is on the next twenty years, starting with an evaluation of "conventional wisdom". It then surveys key interest areas: Oil Supply, Transportation, Natural Gas, Prices, Energy Security, and acceptability.
All of the surveys are of high quality - I particularly found myself attracted to the depth of treatment in the natural gas section, and balance in the view taken of acceptability of energy supply. Other topics also treated with great evenness are issues such as oil availability, competing technologies, competition within segments, security, global warming, and social impact. The book ends in an excellent discussion of challenges and choices.
I thank the authors for putting together this very informative and useful review of oil and energy. I also thank Amazon for making this book so available in a timely way.

A nice companion to his other work
"On the Big Blackfoot" is a series of readings and narratives by Norman Maclean and his son, John, plus an interview with Norman Maclean that I found to be the most interesting part of the recording. The focus of the discussions is quite naturally "A River Runs Through It," but they do go a bit beyond it. If you are a fan of any of Maclean's work, then hearing his voice is a treat.

Tarl Cabot - Renegade
In the midst of some wordy Norman novels comes "Rengades of Gor". Action from start to satisfying finish. Our hero very much himself and doing things the way he does them because he IS Tarl Cabot. All of this set amidst the seige of Ars Station, with Norman providing the the well researched details his books have been known for. Personally, I rank this one right up there with Nomads, Raiders, and Explorers. Set among a long winded series ... Renegades is a return to the glory days.

A can't put down book
As a teacher and sports fan, I found myself unable to put this book down. The book recounts the life of John Baker, an elementary teacher and track star, who was stricken with cancer at a young age. His stuggle to deal with the disease and continue his career, is an inspiration. In addition, you get to know his family and friends and how he helps them accept his disease. Reading this book will inspire you to not take what you have for granted and live for the moment!

Ambitiously researched, creative, remarkably comprehensive
This book is a much needed INFO booster for people suffering with depression, as well as for individuals interested in herbal medicine. Plus it's an interesting read! Ambitiously researched and creatively presented, Dr. Rosenthal has a talent for drawing from sources such as classic literature, music, poetry, medical research, and philosophy, to pen interesting highlights throughout the book. In this remarkably comprehensive book, the history, mythology, past and current medical research, case studies, experience of physicians, and even the politics of St. John's Wort are smoothly chronicled. The reader is also given crucial information on the self-monitoring of mood, the diagnosis of depression, and specifics on how to use St. Johns Wort and when to consult with a physician. The appendix includes helpful logs that the reader can use to monitor their daily mood and sleep. A special bonus is the chapter on how to develop an anti-depressant lifestyle by making simple behavioral and environmental changes. St. John's Wort: The Herbal Way to Feeling Good, is an important, timely, and superbly written book. Thanks Dr. Rosenthal, we needed that!
