Back to the Future?
After Sep llth, I remembered this book and re-read it. Why?Because he believes Nostradamus wrote many quatrains concerning the future rise of militant islamic leaders and a massive muslim invasion,by land and sea, of Western Europe. This will be a long destructive war that ends with a european victory and possibly a prominent French role, but until then the U.S. will be effectively out of the picture. Why? Noorbergen's book, written in 1981, contrasts with R.W. Welch's Comet of Nostradamus written l9 years later, to the extent that Welch proposes a 'minimalist' view involving only the countries of southern Europe, and a comet hitting in the Aegean in 2004 - incredible marksmanship!, whereas Noorbergen seems to propose a wider war and a comet impacting the Atlantic near the Azores. In closing, I don't know why the authors don't write their own reviews so that you could have a more faithful understanding. But I do know that interpreters of Nostradamus' quatrains studiously avoid giving credit to their fellow practioners.

Shattering pre-conceived scientific thought
Everyone who has ever asked the questions, "Why am I here?" or "Where did we come from?" should read this book. Evolutionary science has long maintained that the human race started out as small micro-organisms in ancient primordial soup. This book challenges that assertion quite well. If you are a thinker, this book is for you. It is to bad that the book is out of print. Mr. Noorbergen died some years ago, leaving the disposition of his writings in the hands of his family. This book needs to be re-printed. It is a valuable tool for a modern society much in need of a compass to plot it's course into the next millenium.
A logical solution to the mysteries of the ancients
Of all the books I have read on the mysteries of the ancient civilizations, this book is the best. Most books dealing with this subject are full of far-fetched theories, such as contact with space aliens. Rene Noorbergen approached the subject from a different angle-- by rejecting the current thinking that mankind progessed from a primitive background (from simple stone tools) to higher civilization. Instead, he maintains that mankind was intelligent from the start and was able to develop technology early on in history. He offers a wealth of archaeological evidences to support this view. This is a rare book that challenges the whole secular view of archaeology and history, and I highly recommend it to anyone who question the validity of what is being taught in universities on the subject of early civilizations.
A logical way to approach archeology that is THE best fit.
Noorbergen makes perfect sense out of "out of place" artifacts that have been found and ancient ruins that predate known history. His arguments for advanced civilizations predating history are the most convincing I've ever read and he does it without delving into any fantasy about alien visitors. History has a funny way of repeating itself and this book is also a warning about where we might be headed.

I-m sure this is an interesting book to Ark believers!
This book was written by Rene Noorbergen, not Noor Noorbergen. Rene passed away in 1996 from a heart attack. To my knowledge this book was never released due to a pending lawsuit. It was published by Morrow Publishers, (William Morrow & Co). ISBN 0-68806456-6. Rene had participated in several searches for the ark. I'm sorry that his book was never released.
