Long Live Hare and Rabbit!
Julia Noonan's expressive book perfectly captures the essence of being best friends--with all its ups and downs. The warm, exuberant artwork has a classic feel, and the stories are sensitive and upbeat. Children I have read this with can't wait for more adventures with Hare and Rabbit.

A must read for all friends!
Hare and Rabbit:Friends Forever is my second grade daughter's favorite new book. She reads it over and over and can't wait to read more of Hare and Rabbit's adventures. Thank you Julia Noonan for creating such wonderful characters who bring our children into an imaginary world and teach them values in a fun and endearing way.

Great Book!
These characters are SO marvelous! Ms. Noonan has got friendship (and the acompanying tribulations) down pat. Her illustrations are totally charming. A must read for all kids.

Breakfast Time is absolutely delightful
I stumbled upon this book at the library while looking for books for my then barely one year old child. We loved it so much we bought both this and "Bath Day" by the same author.

The rhythm and pentameter seem to be geared to get a smile out of toddlers. My now 23 month old child will sing in this rhythm while bringing the books to me to read. My husband seems to thing that Ms Noonan must have been present at our breakfast table because the baby in the book's behavior is so similar to our own child's. (I make cornflakes fall like snow....)

I must add that this book seems to make our child even more determined to feed her OWN breakfast to the dog, but she enjoys it so much, we are happy to have her do it.

I adore the illustrations, which are what drew me to the book, out of thousands, at the library that day. I truely thought that the book was 50 or 60 years old until I saw the copyright. It also helps that the child strongly resembles out youngest child and she seems to think the books are specifically about her. The soft water color and joyful baby and dog will delight any child and all parents.

Puppy and me, fun to read!
I enjoy reading this book with my two year old. He loves puppies and seems to enjoy the way both the puppy and he are the stars of the book. We read Goodnight Moon before bed and save the Puppy and Me books,"Going to the corner" and "Bath Day" for daytime reading. I am buying "Breakfast Time" for my friend at work with a little girl age 18 mos. She told me she misses having breakfast during the week with her daughter and will read it to her on weekends after breakfast as kind of a celebration. The child in the book looks like a boy or girl, any child can feel the book is about themselves and Puppy!

Author
All three books in the Puppy and Me series are delightful, ( If I do say so myself.) The text has a perfect rhythm, and the pictures capture the fun todlers have just being themselves. No big message here, just books where toddlers can recognize their own little world. Have you ever gotten stuck reading a book you hate that your kid wants read over and over and over? I have. The "Puppy and Me" books read well each time, and are SHORT for limited attention spans. When I read to kids, I actually sing BREAKFAST TIME and put hand motions with it. Works well for "getting the sillies out". Although GOING TO THE CORNER ( third in the series) was printed too light, the book is still excellent. I'd appreciate you spreading the word if you enjoy the series. My personal favorite? BATH DAY, ( a perfect summer book). I welcome your comments at JUNOART@aol. Thanks! Julia

A "Sweet" tale for teens
This book was my older son's favorite books growing up. Lauremce Yep's thoughtful tale of a human boy whose simple life on a distant world is shattered by the appearance of an native alien who not only opens his eyes to the reality of prejudice but also shows him the courage to defend and be proud of the most important things in his life, especially his family.

Get this book for you young teen, and they will thank you for it.

GOING TO THE CORNER--a delightful read-aloud!
Julia Noonan's Puppy and Me books have everything I could ever wish in a preschool book--expressive illustrations painted in delicious colors, an adorable baby and her puppy friend, and pleasing rhyming verse that rolls along with the ease of an afternoon stroll. In GOING TO THE CORNER, the curiosity with which baby meets the world outside her door--from the safety of her stroller, of course--to me captures the essence of early childhood. What will be next for baby and puppy? I can't wait for the next book in this series!

Magical book
Fans of Jane Yolen and new readers will both love this book. I have never read another book like this one.

It's comprised of three sections, connected somewhat by relationships between the characters, but moreso by the existance of three magic buttons. Each button and its wish aid the owner in a beautiful way.

This book is magical and captivating, and the characters are very well written. Highly recommended!

The timeless lyrics to "Over the Rainbow" are brought to life in this dreamily illustrated book. Each picture is done in soft, muted colors...the overall effect is dreamy. This book would make an excellent present for anyone, young or old.

Dreamland: Nana's Review of a Favorite Book!
I have purchased four copies of this book, one for myself and one for each of my children who have children. I was immediately drawn to the soft colors, peaceful pictures in gentle tones, and the rhythm of the words. The children (and their animal friends) pictured going off to dreamland are from different countries. Going to sleep is pictured and told as a gentle, peaceful, safe and enjoyable experience. The moon and milky way are wonderfully illustrated. I just want to go there! I hope this book comes back in print because I have more children with children and friends with children and it is a perfect gift. The text is in gentle words and wonderful rhythm. The illustrations almost bring tears to my eyes. My grandchildren never tire of having me read this book. I never tire of reading it to them.

I loved it
This is the most beautifully written and illustrated book I have ever seen. It makes a perfect gift for moms to be!

A MUST HAVE! MAKES YOUR CHILD WANT TO GO TO SLEEP! YES!
This book is truly one-of-a-kind; it is the stuff "dreams are made of!" It makes me smile and yawn reading to my daughter most every night! She actually looks forward to going to sleep as much as I do!

It is a child's Fantasy book. It truly entices your child to want to go to sleep in such a beautiful way! The premise of the story is when you fall asleep you enter into a dreamland--a magical place where you can fly in the clouds, play with other boys and girls from around the world, ride on the moon and stars and into the arms of.... ( it's a surprise).

Another thing that makes this book so special is that it comes in your choice of pink or blue lettering. So if you want to give it as a baby gift to someone you have a more personalized gift.

I highly recommend this book to every one! Every child loves beautiful pictures like these! Julia Noonan, the illustrator, is remarkable! Hats off to you Julia! Also of course, thanks to Mary C. Carpenter for sending children "to a really good place: Dreamland...wide open for possibilities."

A Delightful Surprise
My 20 month old son has a very eclectic taste in the books he enjoys. I was surprised when he pulled this off of his book shelf amidst many other books. It is now the favorite book and we read it over and over and over again. The text is simple; the illustrations are realistic yet warm; and, we never grow tired of discussing the illustrations on each page. I think he enjoys it because of the above reasons, and because it is predictable, yet the "surprise" ending never becomes boring. This book is truly a "find."

adorable story of love between mother and daughter
A lovely story of a toddler girl hiding under a blanket and playing a game of "what is under the blanket"? Mother makes many guesses as to what it can be and each response is "I don't need (the item)". At the end the girl pops out and declares the lump was "me" and then mother states that is just what she needed. This is very cute and shows love and typical interaction between a loving mother and adoring daughter. I have the board book version and I am sure it will get much repeated use. The theme of love between parent and child is not seen often enough in children's books and I am glad to see it in this book. Often books focus on the child, the child's activities, or objects (cars, trains, toys, etc.) rather than focusing on the expression and communication of love between parent and child.

A touching portrait of mother and child
One morning a mother sees a strange bundle under the blankets on her bed. As she wonders aloud what it might be--a monkey? A bundle of carrots? Or Humpty-Dumpty?--the bundle proclaims "No, no, no, no, NO!" until finally it reveals itself: "It's ME!" cries the tousle-headed little toddler.

If you're a baby boomer, you might remember this book from your childhood. It was originally published in 1951 under the title "The Bundle Book." Here it is updated with a new title and brand new illustrations.

Purists, who flinch every time they see remakes of Disney classics like "The Absent-Minded Professor" and "The Parent Trap," will no doubt cringe when they hear that old books are being redone with new pictures. But, as nice as the original pale chalk and charcoal drawings were, they were not irreplaceable illustrations along the lines of Garth Williams' pencil sketches that accompany the "Little House" books. The story doesn't suffer at all, and the updated look just means a new generation of children will be exposed to a tender little story.

Noonan has illustrated the new book beautifully. The cover alone, a touching portrait of mother and child, makes this book stand out from others on the shelf. The rich pastel colors are as warm and inviting as the chenille bedspread under which the child hides.

I think this would make a nice gift for a new mother on Mother's Day and will be a book that toddlers want read over and over again.

A good book to open the discussion of God with your child.
This book is a great springboard for discussing the concept of God with your child. The subject of God is approached from a very general standpoint, making it appropriate reading for readers with a variety of religious backgrounds.

This books is an excellent example for Children and ADULTS!!
What a heart-warming story for the young and young-at-heart! The world would be a better place if more people followed the advice given by this author!

Wonderful book to show children God is in their lives
The first time I read this story to my daughter (then 4), she asked that I substitute her name for Emma's - she was so thrilled to see what we do every day reflected in a book. I like the fact that this book refers to "talking to God" rather than "praying" - a much easier concept for small children to grasp and adopt. The drawings are ethereal and loving, and the love and respect Ms. Williamson has for her daughter and all children is palpable. I can't recommend this book enough to parents of small children (and even for the parents themselves!). Barbara Seidel (Tweety513@aol.com)
