My 8 year old loves this book! He is constantly reading off facts and trying to trick us. It has also challenged him to check on the facts in the Bible. He has learned a lot.

Mike Nappa's book is insightful, comprehensive, and challenging to traditional models of youth ministry. It's a must read for youth leaders and pastors who want to increase the effectiveness of their ministries! This book deals with everything from games to worship to small groups to volunteers and more. Mike lets us know how teens feel about all of these areas of our ministries, what they really don't like, and what they wouldn't want us to change in a million years. How did he find out? He asked them. This book doesn't try to change the message we present, instead it challenges the methods we use to present the message.

God is mentioned several times in this book. This is not what we teach in our house and so this book is inappropriate for us. I think that it really should have been mentioned in the description. I would not have purchased it, I feel I wasted my money.

Cute story... However, it failed to mention in the description that it was a religious, "let's thank God for the animals..." book. Which is fine, just not what I was looking for.

This is a very cute book that encourages responsibility, imagination, creativity, and taking care of the gifts God entrusts you with. The illustrations are colorful, detailed and fun. My kids thoroughly enjoy having this book read to them and reading it themselves.

This book might be useful to touchy-feely groups or those who merely skim the surface of Scripture. There is little here for the indepth Bible-oriented preacher.

Although object lessons can be useful in holding attention or making points, the material here involves volunteers coming forward for this or a brief skit on that. This is for the attention deficit crowd.

I would suggest the object lesson series published by Baker, such as, "Simple Object Lessons for Children." These make simple and brief points and keep the sermon interesting without turning it into a game show.
