Z-Z-Zoink is full of fun words and great illustrations!
My daughter received this book for her 2nd birthday and picks it out every night to read. She loves to say z-z-zoink! as we read along and talks to all of the farm animals in the book. There is just the right amount of text on each page - no problem keeping a two year old's attention.

Charmingly Illustrated Book, But Possibly Counter-Productive
There really isn't too much to find fault with in this cute little book. The illustrations are quite charming and it's focus on the fantastic notion of modern-day animals as dinosaur "cousins" is really quite sweet, if a bit naive. I thought that some of the dinosaur/modern animal associations were a bit far-fetched (baby chicks and protosauruses?), but if there's any real fault to be found, it's in the concept of the pairings themselves.

Because of its numerous scientific facts about dinosaurs, I was afraid that younger children might take the fantasy-based idea that contemporary creatures might be their "cousins" for as much of a fact as the rest of the text. I think, however, that that's a very minor point.

All-in-all, it's a very sweet book that indulges fantasies while encouraging children to see similarities in diparate objects. It even manages to include a lot of scientific facts about dinosaurs. It's most certainly a fun book for many different ages.

great book
My 4 year old son loves this book. I've found very few books
about dinosaurs that are on his level. This one is perfect. It
has concrete information about different dinosaurs and compares
them to familiar animals, and there are no gory pictures. I'd
highly recommend it for this age level.

The size of Dinosaurs
My son is almost 3 and a dinosaur lover but he didn't understand why he couldn't see them in the zoo. I explained they lived long ago and this book helped him relate to the size and shape of dinosaurs by comparing them to animals he has seen. It really works!

My Very Own Octopus
I have used this book for years as a part of my ocean unit in first grade. The sensitive story about having an octopus as a pet captures the imagination of young children, and opens the door for wonderful writing experiences with other unusual pets. Now the purple pictures have been enhanced with color, making it even more appealing. I highly recommend this book to primary teachers. Sit back and turn on your imagination.

A Very Different Animal of my Own
I liked this book because it shows how big of an imagination little kids can have. When I was younger I can remember thinking many different animals that I would imagine having. Things just like having a pet to play with. For other kids as well, I think it would be an eye opener. It would capture the imaginations of them. That way, maybe even they can have a writing experience of their own, for one of their, out of the ordinary animals. There are also plenty of bright colors that would grab the attention of the younger reader. Fun looking and colorful pictures is one of the most important things when reading a child a book. If these things are not shown, the child will most likely be distracted easily and want to move onto another book. The pictures show things that many children can relate to too. For example, the snowball fights and baths with rubber toys. So if the child looking at this book is too young to read, the pictures do well to really show what it's speaking of. That makes it more fun for them because then, they're not just having to listen to the person reading it but they can see for themselves. So overall, I think this would not only be a good book for children, but for teachers as well.

Fun version of Peek-a-Boo for babies
This is a very cute book. Each page asks where the cow is and when you turn the page you see where the cow had been hiding (in the trees, behind a fence, etc.) with a big Peek-a-Moo!written on every page. My 10 month old loves this book and can easily find the cow on each page. The repetition of the phrase Peek-a-Moo is also very appealing for babies.

Another Excellent Choice
My 20 month old son LOVES this book....he can't get enough of it...you won't be disappointed.

Imagination Fun!
This is a great book for young children. It brings to life the ideas that probably float around in the heads of many youngsters. As a teacher I have used it to peak students imaginations to produce our own class books about what could happen if dinosaurs came back.

A unique dinosaur book
My son loves this book about dinosaurs. It gives a unique perspective on what dinosaurs could help us do if they came back now. The back page lists many different types of dinosaurs with line drawings of them and their names. This miniature sized book makes it great for travel.

Good primer
For those interested in getting a taste of organization development without previous behavioral science training, this is a great book. It deals with practical issues of the field that can be beneficial to potential practitioners such as external consultants, researchers and theorists, practicing managers, and even employees. This book touches on the important aspects of organization development but it does not delve deeply into them. So this provides a great overview and direction, but should not be the only book for those interested in the field. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to get a taste of organization development.

A delightful book!
A cow that went'oink'is made fun of by the other barnyard animals until she meets a pig that goes 'moo'. They team up and teach each other the 'proper' noise to make and end up having the last laugh because they're the only two animals that can say two noises. The sounds: "moink" "moo-in-k" "moonk" had my 4 year old rolling with giggles. This made for a thoroughly fun way of learing that perseverance and a kind heart win in the end. Don't cheat your child (or yourself) by passsing over this book! In fact, get a second copy to give as a gift.

Excellent source for writing innovations for word chunks.
I would recommend this book to all elementary school teachers. The pictures are a little less colorful, but the content is excellent. We ended up writing there's an end in Brenda and other books. Kitchen-no end in sink, no end in stove, but there's an end in blender. Fast Food Place- No end in Happy Meal at McDonalds, no end in the ice cream sundae at Dairy queen, but there's an end in Chicken Tenders at Burger king, etc. etc.
