My kids (5 and 6) can't get enough of this book. The rhymes are irresistible and the drawings are funny too. My favorite is about the Ankylosaurus ('who moved with a clunk and a clank-ylosaurus'). Finally have to buy it as I'm feeling guilty about hogging the library copy!

We were first introduced to this wonderful book by the library - what fun! My daughter and I have danced to the rythyms of the words and giggled at our struggles to pronounce all of the species names. It has a great information guide in the back and super drawings. Great for dino and nature lovers of all ages.

I was in a Sesame Street store a few years ago and decided to pick this book up because I thought the title was funny. I sat down to read what I thought would be a cute, silly story. It was that, but also a whole lot more. I kept reading about the boy, his pet yak, and their friendship over the years, and ended up in tears in the middle of the store. I bought the book right away. This is one of my all-time favorite books, and I am 22 years old. It is a book that not only teaches kids about friendship and growing up, it also reminds adults what the important stuff in life really is.

This is a very good, literature based assessment of the use of vitamins, minerals, herbs, etc. for the treatment of disease. All of the recommendations are based on an extensive review of the technical journals. Dr. Werbach has arranged his literature based recommendations for common pathological conditions. He recommends and categorizes various nutrients if the literature definitely supports its use, probably supports its use or there is not enough empirical evidence supporting its use. If you're an alternative health care provider, this book is a must buy!

My son and husband loved this song from Sesame Street so I was so excited they had a book of it. The illustrations are beautiful and my one year old loves the funny pictures of Ernie. We sing the song as a lullabye and it works like a charm!

"I Don't Want to Live on The Moon" has been one of my mother's favorite songs. The song is mostly in Sesame Street episodes about space, but the main theme of this soothing song is really about having wishes rather than about going to the moon. It tells how when one has wishes, it is hard to decide whether or not he or she really wants them to come true because of the changes that might happen if they did. I sing the song when I think of my wishes and at nighttime when I see the moon. They really ought to make more books of those not-so-babyish Sesame Street songs such as, "We are all Earthlings". Buy this book for somebody who's always got wishes on their mind about which they have tough decisions.

We received this book as a gift from my sister and its fast become a favorite! Not only is the song pretty but the illustrations that Dagmar did has brought it to life. She is truly an artist of standing!! We will be sure to add more of her work to our library!

Jeff Moss was one of the creators and original head writers for Sesame Street. The man knows children.
Each poem reads like the exact thoughts of a child. Most of them are howlingly funny tales of sibling rivalry, ways to trick monsters, or descriptions of quirky friends. Sometimes there are messages behind the silliness, but sometimes Moss is just silly for the sake of being silly. Very nearly every imaginable childhood theme is in here, from loose teeth to clothes shopping, to having to sing for your parents' friends, to little the odd things you sometimes think of... like, if juice glasses are for drinking juice, are eyeglasses for drinking eyes? Occasionally, a poem with a more serious theme is slipped in. Poems about learning disabilities, or the death of a parent, still retain the perfect, authentic child's perspective. 'Sara Messenger's Mother' still brings tears to my eyes after all these years.
These poems are the kind that stay with you. I still pick up pennies and give them to my friends, often reciting the line 'If I find a penny and give it to you/ That means we'll both have a wish come true' even though most of my friends don't have a clue what I'm talking about. That's the effect this book has. When I used to babysit, and the kids were afraid of monsters, I'd hand them teddy bears and recite 'The Cuddlies' to calm them down, and would you believe, it worked every time. 'Meeting Strangers,' a poem about a shy monster who doesn't understand why people don't like him, has got to be the absolute best children's poem I have ever read. Ever.
It's a real shame this book never became as popular as Shel Silverstein's or Dennis Lee's. It deserves to be on every child's shelf, between Where the Sidewalk Ends and Alligator Pie.

When I was in 4th grade (I'm in 10th now) I had to memorize a poem for class and I chose one out of this book and that summer I moved and never found the book again. For the past 5 years I've been looking for The Butterfly Jar and now that I've found it I'm so happy!

I am not a big true crime reader (this was my first crime book). I do however have an interest in learning what could possibly make a serial killer tick. That said, WOW!! this book gives significantly disturbing details of just how these killers think. I could not put the book down. It was disturbing, disgusting, scary but most of all compelling.

What makes the story so interesting is not just the study of the serial killers, but the naive and adolescent nature of the author. I kept sitting there thinking what is wrong with this guy. Why would anyone risk his sanity for the sake of his own curiosity.

My only complaint was that the book was written in a very unsophisticated way. It was clearly written by a college student and not a professional writer.

It is very hard for me to get into a book but this book truly drew me in and didn't let me go till the very last page. It was such an interesting book that had many twists and turns along the way. I absolutely enjoyed this book and have recommended it to many people. If you like true crime books then this one is for you.

My husband had a copy of People in My Family, the golden shape book, when he was a child. Unfortunately, the book disintegrated before the second of our two children arrived, and we wanted to replace it. Being that the book was out of print, we weren't sure we'd be able to locate a copy, but Amazon.com didn't let us down! We purchased a used copy, and received it in a timely fashion. The book was just as we remembered--almost. There seemed to be an additional section at the end. The additional ending, however, did nothing to mar the childlike memory of the original story/song.

The Sesame Street, People in My Family, A golden Shape Book, is great for toddlers. The text counts up to five three times, first with family members, then with monsters(the Sesame Street kind), and then with fingers on each hand. There are lots of things to count in the pictures too, balloons, hats, spools of ribbon and more.

I had heard about Carnitine at the gym. Others were taking it in
order to bulk up their muscle mass. I ordered Crayhon's book and read
it cover to cover. I care less about muscle mass and more about
dropping the pounds that have piled on. His book explains that
Carnitine's function is to burn that fat. The plus side is that the
heart becomes healthy both through the action of the Carnitine and
throught the increased overall health of the body. My work-outs
became more productive....I am well on my way to a healthy heart and a
trimmer body due to these and...other supplements...

Crayhon makes it so simple--not a surprise, after reading his book Nutrition Made Simple--that without carnitine we can't burn fat, so that we ought to increase our intake of carnitine if we do want to burn fat. Well, I tried the program and it works! And let me tell you I have tried a lot of them. The menu plans were very helpful. Not a miracle, perhaps, but slow, steady weight loss, more energy, no cravings. The body cannot burn fat without this nutrient, so of course it is helpful. My doctor gave me the OK for the program after he saw all the scientific references in the back of the book. Get it, follow it, live it! Thanks, Robert!

Jason atempts to have us believe that he was tramatized by his communications with John Wayne Gacy and other serial killers. First, duh the prisioners in this book were locked up for a reason! Second, who in their right mind would go and visit Gacy? It was a well known fact and broadcast on several news programs that Gacy did indeed get "special treatment" in prison and often had private visits. My personal opinion is that if all of this story went down as it was portrayed Mr. Moss needs some serious help. I myself remember the horror of watching the news in my suburban chicago home as body after body after body was brought out of that mans home. How can this author say that he started to believe him innocent! I think his motives were money...Money from the sale of this book and also from selling his murderabilia

IS anyone else creeped out by this book? It is an interesting book on serial killers, but far more disturbing in its references to the author. Manson, Gacy, Ramirez, Dahmer...all men are masters of manipulation. So good, in fact, that they were able to not only manipulate their victims into believing in their safety (or in Manson's case, to kill for him), they were manipulative enough to escape justice for years and years. Thus, I find myself a bit disturbed that Jason Moss feels he can outmanipulate the greatest manipulators of all time. That is truly scary. If he can manipulate these practiced murderers and kings of deception, think of what he could do to a regular Joe like me or like you. Read this book if you want to enter the mind of...a well-groomed, well-articulated, intelligent All-American boy on one side and an egomaniacally self-professed master manipulator on the other hand.

One of the things I've always wanted to do was meet/interview a serial killer.. just to see what makes them tick. After reading this book, I definitely don't want to do that anymore.
The author, Jason Moss, begins corresponding with different imprisoned serial killers; Dahmer, Manson, Ramirez and Gacy... After corresponding with Gacy for awhile, he begins to accept phone calls from him. During his spring break from UNLV he gets on a plane to go see Gacy in prison. Slowly, Gacy breaks Moss down and almost turns him into the last victim.
