The memories...
This book has a sentimental value to me. I think it was one of the first ten novels I ever read, and the first one I ever re-read. I can remember reading this over and over again back in elementry school days. I eventually lost intrest in it after a few years, but by the time I had last read it in my younger days, I had read quite a few other novels and it managed to compete.

I can remember some of the plot - it happens in Iowa, the main character discovers a beautiful secret carousel, she lives with her grandparents, she has a sister studying ballet and fifth-grade teacher who teaches the class the same way every year. I also remember how the book ends, but I'm not going to spoil it.

I saw my old copy around somewhere - when I find it, I will read it again and see what I think of it now.

Standing up to Mr.O
A girl named Maggie dreads the day when she has to dissect in her biology class. Maggie decides to refuse dissect and rather receive a F for a grade. She afterwards becomes a vegetarian. This book has a point on dissection and it is a good example as an arguement against killing or dissecting animals. The author somehow seems to persuade reader's that killing animals is wrong.

standing up to mr. o
My favorite character is Maggie. She is like me, scared of dissecting things. I hate Matt because he is a little brat. My other favorite character is Alicia, she is Maggie's best friend. the best part of the story is the end.

Shows all sides, even ones you don't want to take
This book was wonderful. I myself am a vegan, and found it interesting that until Matt mentioned it, Maggie didn't think twice about eating meat. I think that we all need to know all the facts, and this book shows those facts in a good way, without forcing them upon you, letting you make your own decision. It is understandable that Maggie called her science teacher a murderer. After all, we all need to come to terms with our feelings, and in doing so, we may hurt someone else's, but it's something that must be done. This book is a wonderful story about growing up, learning about the world around us, and trying new things (like tofu!). This book teaches a lesson that needs to be learned.

A Have to Read Book!
Losers Inc. was a very intriguing book. Claudia Mill's style of writing was very interesting. At the end of each chapter she left you up in the air, so you wanted to read more. The plot was very humorous. I found it very unusual that Ethan and Julious formed a club for losers. I also enjoyed the fact that that Ethan and Julious were in love with the new teacher Ms. Gunderson, and Lizzy (the lizard) was deeply in love with Ethan. The characters were very realistic and funny at times. I liked Ethan, the main character, the most. His life was very entertaining. The book that he wrote, about how unfair life can be, was absolutely correct. I enjoyed this book completely and I would recommend it to others

losers inc in my way
well I'd say the book that i read was nice but boring to it staed in like 3 spots and it was a slow book .
A summary of the book is there are to friend that mack this club called losers inc ... but one of the kids in the club are slitly bracking the rules yes there are rules ... 1. is that you have to do bad book reports and no reading big books. you have to do bad science projects. And that is all the rules. but a new teacher is in town and the 2 kids that made the club are in love with the teacher and 1 of the boys want to inpress the teacher by doing a good science project and a good book report. read this book it is cool

I recommend this book to people who don't get good grades.
Ethan and Julius are middle school students. Everybody including themselves think that they are losers at school. They always read the shortest books for book reports. They never win at the annual science fair. Ethan and Julius suck at sports too. So Julius thought of making a club called Losers Inc. There are only two members in the club. Julius is the president and Ethan is the vise president of the club. But, when Ms Gunderson who is a student teacher comes, both Ethan and Julius fall in love with her secretly. Then Ethan tries to impress her by reading a 422-page book for a book report. Ms Gunderson did not believe he actually read such a long book and told him to read short ones. His friend Julius stood up for him and tried to tell the teacher that he had really read the book "A City for Two". Ethan also tried to impress the teacher by winning the Nobel Peace Prize by winning the science fair. All the previous years he got his ideas from a book his mother borrowed from the library. This year he thought of the idea for the science fair himself. He wants to find out why some balls bounce and some don't. He tested ten different balls including a basketball, soccer, football, and tennis, baseball on three different surfaces - carpet, wooden floor and concrete. Isn't a shame that he didn't win after all his effort? He becomes a better student. He got three A's in math, one A in science and one in English. His friend Julius thought he wasn't a loser after all. Julius thought he is the only loser in school and the club Losers Inc is no longer needed.

A MORBID TASTE FOR GRIEF
Ten-year-old Karla and her 9-year-old brother, Jamie, unexpectedly spend the summer in a dilapidated old cabin in Maine, which the family has inherited from an uncle. Dad wants to sell, but the kids would really like to keep the sudden vacation windfall.

Real estate matters aside, both children are carrying a lot of emotional baggage on this trip: Karla is obsessed with the idea of death (innocent birds) and starts eating less. Meanwhile her non-athletic younger brother tries desperately to win his father's approval in some other arena. Mom, a would-be writer, just manages to be cheerful and keep them all functioning as a family unit.

This story reveals the struggle for self-esteem (Jamie) and the search for understanding of the meaning of death (Karla). All the Living reveals the inner turmoil of pre-adolescents and is written with tender insight into childhood's coping mechansims.

But Nature is saving up a dramatic denouement for our young heroes. Will Karla choose Life instead of her morbid fascination with the death of innocent animals and vegetarianism? Will Jamie gain his father's respect or be able to respect himself even if he will never be a jock? A serious story which will cause the thoughtful reader to ponder the importance of rejoicing in Life.

Good at the begining, the end, boring.
Dynamite Dinah's beginning was pretty cool, but it's ending was extemely boring and flat!

OK
This was a cute story, realistic and well-written but I'm sure that Claudia Mills could have planned a better plot structure and added more excitement and humor to the storyline. I feel that this could be improved.
