More than just a price book
This book is more than just a price book. It uses a series of questions to help you nail down just what you are looking at. In the BASICS section you find the different ingredients in Water-glass, Soda glass, Potash glass, and lead crystal. The book is small enough that I carry this with me.

Some of the highlights are:

Uses a unique question-and -answer approach to help you identify and date genuine antique glass

Deals with fakes, copies, condition and other factors that may confuse even experienced collectors

Analyses typical items that collectors can find in shops and auction houses

Gives Guidelines to values

Contains a wealth of background information, including an extensive glossary

Is a thorough introductory course for the beginner and also a superb refresher for those with some collecting experience.

A must have for collectors of Antique English Silver
This book is a must have for anyone who collects antique English silver. Not as comprehensive as a lot of others I have seen which is actually a plus since it fits comfortably in your pocket when you go antiquing. I keep my copy next to my computer so I have it handy while surfing the silver listings on eBay. Well worth the price.

Best missionary book you'll ever buy
This book was recommended to us by the "Moore Foundation" and it is about the best book we have ever purchased. In fact we have bought the rest of the series which include Wisdom and the Millers and Prudence and the Millers among others. We read this to the Junior class and occasionally for Primary class for the mission story and this book is a hugh hit. Infact, whenever we read this book, folks are always wanting to know the name of the book and where they can purchase it. Now, most of the Junior class owns their own Missionary and the Millers book and I am here cruising Amazon for what I hope to be a similarly good mission book...that will be a very hard task as this one is so exceptional. If you want a really good missionary stories book, you've just found it!

Great ideas for the do-it-yourselfer.
I was very pleased at all the ideas and step by step instructions in this book. I wanted to build a cover for my patio and bought this just based on the front cover (had a picture of the type of cover I'm looking for). With great suggestions on what MY patio might need, I'm going forward with my plans! Before this I had no idea where to start. Now I have a good amount of information to make me feel comfortable with drawing up the plans, figuring out my materials list, and starting the project. The photos in here offer some great ideas and really get the creative juices flowing.

Comprehensive Overview of Period Finishes
This is an excellent book for the professional designer or decorator looking for a comprehensive catalog of "out of the ordinary" finishes. The finishes reviewed are generally european in heritage, although many were imported to the US during the last 2 centuries. This is not a handbook for the weekend "do-it-yourself" decorator/painter as the finishes illustrated require multiple steps and practice to attain the desired look. The book is an excellent resource when discussing finishes and 'looks'with a professional painter/finisher. Additionally, the photographs are of a fine enough quality to help the reader understand the relationship of the color, technique and texture to the surrounding room. This should help the reader to visually conceive the design before the project execution and thereby minimize 'mistakes'. Enjoy!

My fourth-graders LOVE it!
My fourth-grade students love these songs. The types of songs range from county and western to rap. The songs are fun, varied, and (most importantly) help students memorize the multiplication facts. I highly recommend this resource. (I hope a CD version will eventually be published.)
