I received this book from a colleague of mine, and I had no clue what 'xeriscape' even was. Living here, southwest, I knew I had to do something, and this book was the opened the door! I have just begun, but I am already confident and happy. As the review said, it the plant notes were wonderful, and the color photos were beyond that. The tips help. Looking at this, you would think it'd be terribly hard to do waterwise landscaping, I sure did, but give it a try! It's a terrific book, or at least it served me great.

weber does an excellent job in compiling and reviewing the work of cardinal mcintyre's tenure as archbishop of los angeles. the man built hundreds of parishes, schools and hospitals in his twenty plus years at the helm.

the author does not shy away from the cardinal's legendary battle with the ihm nuns in the wake of the second vatican council, nor the conflicts with latino militants. the text is fair to both sides.

mcintyre built la into one of the major archdioceses of the american catholic church. eminence is the record of this man's achievements and shortcomings. one of the best books of this kind.

My interest in the topic of workplace theft began, unexpectedly, after a recent outbreak of crime in my office. As a federal employee, I had always considered myself immune to the disruptive impact of workplace theft. That naivete ended when I became seperated with some objects of high sentimental value. Confused and distraught, I looked for some answer to this violation and began to research the available literature. Neil Snyder's book was the first one I discovered, and his writing proved to be especially supportive and helpful. His chapters explained the risks, the statistics, and essentially lifts the wool from over your eyes to reveal that the successful workplace is a defensive workplace. I have since formed a watchgroup and a worplace preparedness commission to help institute Snyder's and others teachings about this very important topic. A must read for anyone concerned with their safety while on the job.
