The Master Key System by Charles F. Haanel

A book from early 1900s that can change your life!
Charles F. Haanel was a successful business man who discovered that spiritual life is a key to success in everything you do. He proved that what is happening outside is in a direct relation to what is taking place in your consciousness.

When the Master Key was published, it was one of those books that successful business men wanted out of the market. They didn't want people to read this book as its truths would help anyone to overcome limitations.

The rumor is that when Bill Gates was just a student, he read this book and utilized its truths. Rest is history.

I have read this book - it is divided in chapters that have introductions and numbered paragraphs to study. It starts from understanding the principles of your conscious mind and its power and advances to utilizing these principles.

As you put in use what the author explains in this volume, you will start seeing substantial changes in your reality. In many ways, Charles was so much ahead of his time. Even today most profilic business coaches such as Antohony Robbins etc. do not admit the fact that your life is in your control 100%. We are taught that we are at the mercy of externals, but it ain't so.

In many ways, Charles F. Haanel is the most outstanding business coach there has ever been. Way before current business coaches who incorporate spiritual life and business, he did it. If you are an owner of major company -- have every employee of your company to read this book and utilize it in their daily routines. Your company will become the new success story. That is for sure.

Why am I giving just 4 stars for such an outstanding book? Well that is because the volume is rather long. I think the central message of this book could have been condensed into 60 pages -- but instead the author goes on and on for several hundred pages. On the other hand -- this does ensure that everyone grasps the principles involved in creating success.

Does it work? Yes it does. Why do some people fail? Well, they just read this book but don't put in use its truths. For some it is difficult to understand or believe that your life is just a mirror that is telling you what you are in your consciousness. Think you have a problem, and one will surface. Think you have a solution and it is as well yours. Fair game.

The Master Key - Haanel
The Master Key by Haanel follows the publication in the late 1880's of the book of the same name by Deslauriers. The fundamental principles espoused in both volumes are the foundational stuff of success in all aspects of being. While there are many excellent works which seek to explicate the human essence from a perspective of oneness, The Master key by Haanel is a Masterwork. Having read the book repeatedly over some twenty years I find each re-reading illuminates in my mind and hence my life, ever-new understandings of our greater reality. As a psychotherapist I have assisted others to a deeper realization of their positive, productive and incredibly powerful state of connectedness. The Master Key by Haanel dispells the imagery of mythology to strengthen and affirm our instrinsic strength, worthiness and unity. Take the books advice and go slowly. While the flush of discovery is still with you, read it slowly again and celebrate the richness of your newly discovered beingness.

The Master Key System by Charles F. Haanel
Ever wanted the 'answer' to really understanding how to bring success into your life? The Master Key System is the nearest thing you'll find to one. In this masterly and insightfull piece written over 90 years ago, Charles Haanel reveals the secrets to realising our greatness by providing the keys to total success in life - physically, mentally and spiritually. Before reading the Master Key I had read many of the well known classics of personal growth like: Think and Grow Rich (Napoloen Hill), The Power of Positive Thinking (Norman Vincent Peale) and The Magic of Thinking Big (David J. Schwartz). However I found none so fundamentally to the point and enlightening as the Master Key. I immediately liked the Master Key over all the others because it was so factual and practical, with a total absence of hyperbole. There is no 'the secret speaks to those who listen' treatment here, just the plain facts - and the fundamental methods to make it work for you. It did for me! The profound yet succinct treatment of such a complex subject leaves you in no doubt that you are reading the truth. Whats more, the structure of the book is very much geared around a working manual. Each chapter is a short weekly lesson with a practical exercise, successivly building upon the previous one, to take you logically through the total growth process. I found this structured pace very easy to work into my normal life. By the end you WILL understand how to use your power within to improve your life permenantly. Those looking for the one book to provide the key to making their life a success... this is it! This re-edited publication of The Master Key System (by Anthony R. Michalski) has been meticulously produced to be totally authentic to Charles Haanel's now extremely rare original.

A look back at King and Barker
What is interesting about this book, is seeing how the subjects felt about certain projects while they were in the making. Using the benefit of hindsight, the reader has already seen the movie or read the book - and has formulated an opinion on the quality of the project. "Maximum Overdrive" was not one of King's better endeavors, so it's interesting to read about what went into that particular film. It made me a more forgiving viewer, as I could say "oh, so THAT'S what he was trying to do!" I also watched "Nightbreed" from a different perspective as well. Knowing some of the inside information, added depth to the viewing experience.

This is definately a book from a fan's perspective, particularly in the case of Barker; however, despite the lack of critical analysis, I found this book to be an enjoyable collection of interviews and experiences.

Squint Into the Hearts of Darkness
Well-written and insightful pieces from the pages of Fangoria magazine (and you thought it was just a collection of gory photographs!) shed new light on the works of Stephen King and Clive Barker, arguably the two most popular--and yet diverse--modern writers of horror. How well you enjoy this book depends largely on how much you appreciate the work of the authors. For my part, the pieces on Clive Barker's films "Lord Of Illusions" and especially "Nightbreed" are a little too fawning in tone for two such disposable works; ditto the piece on King's directorial debut (and hopefully finale) "Maximum Overdrive." But devoted fans and aspiring writers alike should find plenty of insight into both King and Barker's work methods and even some new perspectives on well-known and much-loved works. I would have appreciated a more critical analysis, but this book is at least a big step up from, say, a fan-club newsletter.

an excellent account of family life in 18th century England
this is an excellent book for anyone as fascinated as me with historic novels. it centres around the lives of the Tatlow family- a small family in a weaving community in Newbridge, England. the story tells of their life, the community, and some history of the area. the story climaxes as the monotonous, regular-set lives of the weavers are thrown into turmoil witht he passing of an enclosure Act in parliament. it sated that the land used by the weavers as common food-growing area and such, is to be taken away for the use of a new farming technique consisting of putting walls around the area. the weavers now have to find new ways to cope with their dillema, and the story of the now ever-changing lives of the Tatlows take new twists and turns during the few decades in which the story stretches. an excellent work of art well worth the trip to the library.

A Good Introduction to French Baroque
This is a very good introduction to the most famous French baroque composers: Lully, Charpentier, Lalande, Couperin and Rameau. The book gives an account of each of the composers' lives, lists all their works and comments on their style and major achievements. It is easy to read and one quickly gets a basic overview. However, if you are interested in a deeper exploration of the composers' opus, you may find yourself wanting more details. In that case you may want to read "Marc-Antoine Charpentier" by Catherine Cessac for more information on Charpentier or "Jean Baptiste de Lully and his Tragedies Lyriques" by Joyce Newman. Both books are very informative and detailed.

good basic introduction
I thought this book was a good basic introduction to the field of optical properties of solids. The strong point of this book is that it is well organized and gives many examples. It starts with the basics of Maxwell's equation, then moves on to talk about luminescence, excitons, quantum wells, luminescence centers ... I enjoyed reading about the examples given. It gives many basic descriptions of how optoelectronics device work such as light emitting diodes and Ti:sapphire lasers.

This book is geared toward anybody who has taken one semester of basic quantum and one semester of electricity and magnetism. It is easy to read and contains many diagrams. Chapters end with a useful list of references that go into more details. This book is not a reference for graduate level treatment of optical properties of solids. The nonlinear optics part is short and shallow. The quantum mechanical description is basic.

Overall, I would recommend this book to anybody that is learning for the first time about optical properties of solids. Solid state physics textbooks by Ashcroft & Mermin and Kittel do not contain a useful and up-to-date section on optical properties of solids. This book fills the gap.

The natural history of the vampire

Pitiful scholarship
This book is poorly organized and at times seems poorly researched. It is replete with unsupported arguments, questionable conclusions and inaccurate information. It reads like a string of too long quotations from out-of-date scholars, which often have little or nothing to do with vampires, let alone the specific aspect the author is supposed to be elucidating. Masters obviously has a keen eye for detail, but he is often so bogged down in detail that his main thesis goes unexplained. The book really suffers because of the fact that Masters simply can't decide what he thinks a vampire is, let alone how to go about discussing it. Therefore, while the book is not uninteresting and provides plenty of gory quotations, it is ultimately unsatisfying and fails as a piece of scholarship. There is some serious re-writing to be done here. In the meantime, I would suggest that anyone serious about researching the history of vampires look elsewhere.

This book is perfect
This book is a must read for anyone researching the true origin of the Hollywood Vampire. It gives the most accurate description of Vampires from days long ago to present. The fact is not everyone who reads about vampires knows why we as humans fear them. This book will explain it in detail.

A mish-mash of ideas and themes
As a longtime player of Warhammer Fantasy RolePlay (WFRP) I was very happy to see Hogshead pick up the rights to WFRP after Games Workshop abandoned this great product. This is the first new adventure material produced by Hogshead and while welcome, is not neary as good as some of the older adventures in the Enemy Within campaign (Death on the Reik, Power Behind the Throne).

In this adventure, the players are racing against time to forstall an ancient prophecy about the return of a Daemonic entity in and around the city of Marienburg. The problem is in trying to maintain a coherent storyline when each chapter is being plotted by different authors. In the end, the adventure comes across as a mish-mash of interesting ideas but the coherency is lost. It is still a good book, however, just not great. There is a good balance of investigation and action and would suit pretty much any gaming group.

Not very user friendly
Being a new Max user, I found that this book confused me...the instructions it gave were quite vague and sometimes did not work. It leaves out areas of importance which you should know when you create the scenes in the book.

Good tutorials
This is a 4 stars book, but is outdated now.

this book
this book is alright but the thing that i hated was that it says "go to snap settings" and it took me over 20 minutes to find it. It doesn't tell you where to find stuff. It took me over 2 hours to do some projects because i was exploring to find settings and boxes i had to check. dont buy it.
