a very good book about the furtrade
The book describes everything about the furtrade in the American west.It describes the hunters and trappers, the history of the furtrade west from 1807 to 1843,the Santa Fe trade, how the western country looked like and the indians. It was very interesting because it described so much.It should have described the hunters equipment better.

This Book is Great...So Far
I have read a pre-release version of this book and it is great. Anyone intersted in the aquaria of sharks or rays really needs to get a copy of this book! It is the 1st book ever to deal with the selection and maintaining of sharks and rays in home aquarium. Not only that but the book is very well priced.

A must-have guide...
I'll admit - I'm biased, being the book's photographer, but having had a while to let the book sink in, I had another look and really admire the work we did!

Yes, it's got a lot of text but to my enjoyment and satisfaction, the photographs are reproduced beautifully and the layout compliments both.

If you want a light, fluffy coffee-table book, this probably isn't for you, but if the subject of Australian interiors, antiques and collectables is of interest - it's a 'must'.

Anyway, as I said - I'm biased...

A Priceless Collection
Every story in this collection is a gem that has been embedded in the pegmatite ledges of Maine until the publication of this book. Some of the stories are American classics, some are classics only here in Maine, and some have emerged from obscurity to grace the pages of this amazing book. No matter which way the story came to be in "The Best Maine Stories" they will be loved by all (not just those from Maine)! My favorite story: The Viking's Daughter.

Fun.
These plays are fun to read. They might seem old fashioned because they were written two hundred years ago, but actually I think they are relevant today and any day. I've read all four plays already dozens of times, and I wish more people could become acquainted with this period's marvelous literature.

I bought this for both sets of parents!
There are a lot of retirement books out there, so I went with the one with a recognizable name and I'm glad I did. My parents haven't thought enough about retirement and I wanted to spur them to action. They were pleased to find out that there were many things they could do now, even at this late date, to help them, and they even starting giving me tips on ways I could start planning. So then I gave this book to my husband's parents who are already retired, and they ended up buying it for friends too. There are tons of tips, easy things you can do, worksheets, charts, action lists, tips--even a section on how to overcome adverse events like losing your job and divorce. It is worth the read. You'll learn a lot and be happy you did.

An amazing visual account of the life of Oxford Mississippi
There has been very few times in the past that I have ever considered buying a coffee table book, most in my opinion just collect dust.

This book however is a wonderful pictorial account of Oxford Mississippi during the time when Faulkner still walked our streets. What I think is amazing is that some of the people pictured in this book as children still live in Oxford and are still an active and beautiful part of our local history.

This is an ideal gift for friends or family that have attended the University of Mississippi and have learned to love the small town personality of Oxford.

This book helped me to get on the varsity field hockey team!
At the beginning of the summer, I had no idea how to play field hockey but I knew that I was going to be trying out for the team. So I bought this book. This book taught me almost everything that I needed to know about field hockey! Now I am the only freshman on the varsity field hockey team!!! I highly recomend this book to anyone who wants to learn about this sport.

Lives up to its billing
If you live in New Mexico or southern Colorado and fish or tie flies you will like this book. It catalogs unusal regional fly patterns and the waters to fish them. I, of course, haven't tied or fished all of the patterns in the book but its an enjoyable read. Because these flies are not going to be found in even some of the best fly shops in the region the recipes and tying instructions are worth the price. The instructions also include a variety of techniques that are not as well described in other fly tying manuals. The only negative I can think of is the lack of color pictures, but I have a good enough imagination not to need them. Besides I'm a sucker for books from the University of New Mexico Press.
