Beautiful pictures & related products introductions but.....
I was a bit disappointed with the content as I am a new owner of a three-months old Westie and never had a pet before so I intended to find a book with details or step by step instructions on the topics of training, feeding, groomings, etc. I was not so interested in the content that seemed to be more focus on which product is best for your Westie or only told you to go to the training school. In my coutry, there is no such community or training school for dog no mention especially for my adorable Westie.

Great Pictures of Westies- Book could use some substance
This book gives great value for the money. I found the pictures especially captivating since they are "high gloss". The author does a fair job of detailing the West Highland White Terrier's history, standard, feeding, grooming, training and showing. However, most of the book reads as if the explanations were taken from other sources (the breed standard is simply the AKC explanation, and the 5 page discussion on Nylabone is nearly a verbatim rendition of the Nylabone manufacturer's insert included with each chewing toy.) However, the author did include various pictures and diagrams pointing out the various components which make up the breed's standard, and this is helpful when attempting to figure out things like "where is the withers?" At times, the text was confusing and contradictory. At one point, the author states p.26 "Now what about supplements of various kinds, mineral and vitamin, or the various oils? They are all okay to add to your Westie's food." Then 3 lines later states "Except on the advice of your veterinarian, added amounts of vitamins can prove harmful to your Westie!" Only a careful reader would pick this up, and one may follow certain suggestions to the detriment of your pet. The pictures were beautiful, but the author should have identified by name the Westie being photographed. Overall, this book is helpful when being introduced to the breed.

Pretty good (9)
Has good information but needs to talk a little more about how to train westies. Good information on feeding and toys. Good photos, too. Information on caring for puppies; it has helped me take care of my puppies. Adrienne L.

"A Picture Gallery Of The F-22"
This book featuring the Raptor is well detailed, and a fun book to browse. Plentiful pictures, and some descriptions of its awesome capabilities. If you'd really like to know what it is to appreciate this fine piece of technological marvel, see the other books on the F-22. Comparitively, I did not find it as indepth as another available soft-cover - see Bill Sweetman's version: F-22 Raptor. I have enjoyed both books, but would recommend Sweetman's - let's just say I am a genuine "Warplane Buff". I have not read the more expensive book, by Aronstein, but from its review, and the fact that it has an insider's view, it should be very interesting...(if you don't mind paying more) - Aronstein's is quite possibly a five-star! ...in my opinion.

Excellent book
This book tells you everything you ever wanted to know about the air force's newest future fighter.-----excellent!!!!!

A Mixture of Fact and Legend with Magnificent Illustrations
CELTIC SAINTS contains biographies of twenty-one men and women including Patrick, Brigid of Kildare and Brendan The Navigator. The stories of the various saints are a mixture of fact and legend. In some ways the book reads like a popular history of Ireland and the nearby Celtic areas of Scotland and Wales during the Middle Ages.

The illustrations by Ann MacDuff are magnificent. If you have any love for Ireland and Celtic culture, you will probably appreciate this little book.

Look Before You Leap
If you are put off by silly grammatical errors and absurd typos, then don't buy this book. It doesn't appear that anyone edited or proofed the material before it went to print. I bought the version that was copyrighted in 1999. I'm not sure what the authors were thinking, but I'm fairly certain it wasn't about their readers. I decided I could use it in my teaching, but probably not as the authors intended.

Practical and readable
The information contained in this book is very practical. Also, in contrast to some other task analysis books it is very readable. It does have some minor errors as another reviewer has pointed out. But I feel that the information contained is very good and I highly recommend this book.

A thoughtful, useful methodological tour
This isn't an easy book to work through. It doesn't artificially simplify the field, doesn't give us the One True Method for task analysis, doesn't adopt One True Strategy for Instructional Design.

Instead, the book surveys a wide range of alternative approaches, provideas many references to different segments of the literature, and plenty of interesting insights.

I'm a Professor of Software Engineering (who also has a Ph.D. in Psychology). I focus my research on the teaching of software testing -- as a field, we are still in the early stages of curriculum development. The equivalent of a full semester in testing will soon be an ACM/IEEE requirement for a B.Sc. in Software Engineering, and so we need curriculum development in testing NOW. I find this book useful in my work and as a thought-provoker that I lend to my graduate students. It doesn't tell them what to do. It gives them enough information (and pointers) to help them think about why they should prefer one alternative over another.
