Gifts: Remembering the Now
I believe this book makes a significant contribution to spiritual literature. The "remembered" lifetimes are dramatic, compelling and authentic. It is a book, in my opinion, for our day and age. It helps open our minds to other dimensions and brings hope to those of us who sometimes get weary of life on Planet Earth. To those of us who have wondered how we could possibly learn and experience all this world has to offer with only "three score years and ten" in which to do it, there is now a possible explanation! Is it possible indeed to come into the world, experience what our Soul needs to learn, give up this physical body when our Soul gives its consent, then return for more learning in a different setting, a differnt outer form and with different desires and skills? Enchanting idea! If you're looking for a read that is entertaining, instructive and thought provoking...this one is for you! I recommend it without reserve!

Out-standing in-sight
It's rewarding to see that in this world of misunderstanding, that one person has the courage to share knowledge gained by personel understanding of ones experiences within thier life's constant ups and downs. I applaude this books auther and her courage to share this with the rest of us

A Cthulhu Adventure for Warhammer FRP
This adventure is the 2nd part of the famed 'Enemy Within' campaign for Warhammer FRP originally published by Games Workshop. The adventure, set in the small town of Bogenhafen has been described by its authors as a 'Call of Cthulhu' scenario. This means investigation, conspiracies, secret cults, and fateful summonings. Above all, it encourages roleplay since there is a bare minumum of violent action.

While many Warhammer FRP veterans enjoy this adventure and rate it highly, I prefer a more balanced style of adventure design. As it is written, the game features a lot of investigation and interaction, and almost no action. However if your group is fortunate enough to consist of players who prefer roleplay over combat, add one star - this adventure is made for you. Players with way too many weapon specialization skills would probably be unconscious with boredom before the end.

Challenger for Power Behind the Throne!
This adventure is not recommended for players who like only hack and slash. SOB is lighter version of Power behind the throne. Player characters are drawn to Bögenhafen by a mistake. There they are faced by a great threat of Chaos. One of the very high persons in Bögenhafen is corrupted and players are to find out who it is. Guilty one is found out quite easily, but problem is: How to find evidence hard enought to collapse him/her? Can players stop the catastrophe? This adventure is the first of The enemy within campaign. So player characters should not be too powerful. Very fascinating and interesting book. I recommend.

The Greek Hoplite (The Soldier Through the Ages)
Published in Paperback by The Watts Publishing Group (1985)
Authors: Martin Windrow and Tony Smith
Amazon base price: $
Average review score:

Bright and digestible material that's excellent for children
Windrow's children's book The Greek Hoplite is a fairly good book, not groundbreaking, but it would make a good gift to the kid who is starting to show an interest in ancient history. The text covers most of the bases of the origin and lifestyle of the typical Greek citizen-soldier in a very simple and easy to read style of writing. The illustrations are bright and colorful, which makes it fun to read. The only point I wish Windrow would have emphasized more is how independent the Greek city-states were. Other than that, it's a very good book that's almost up to par with what Nick Sekunda has to offer for the younger crowd.

Excellent historical review of prairie schoolhouses.
For those who cannot view the Smithsonian traveling exhibit of the same title, this is an excellent substitute. The 60 plates depict the schoolhouses, diplomas, playground equipment, teaching aids, and housing quarters. The text also chronicles the rise and ruin of these schoolhouses, most of which are now gone.

Typical floating abstractions...
I don't how these people can give this book a good review, but...
I just got done throwing this book against the wall. The first chapter is enough to drive you nuts. Are you supposed to be typing the code in that he shows? if you do, you'll find that there are variables that aren't declared (until later). I kept leafing through the pages looking for a phrase like "OK - Enter the following code..." Nope. I couldn't figure out if I was supposed to be building these projects or just reading about theirs. The part on using the forms from the CD to make inherited forms didn't work like the book showed. all in all, I would NOT buy this one, if given the chance again.

Different Code Versions for Book and CD
If you write the code as written in the book, you'll end up with a program full of errors. The book is simply full of erroneous codes that you will tear your hair out trying to figure out where you made the mistakes. On the other hand, the code from the cd will run right out of the box and the projects are pretty decent. But this cannot overshadow sloppy editing and a poor excuse for the authors not trying the book themselves.

Qualified Praise
As a beginner to Visual Studio.NET, I have read and re-read sections of this book for several months now. 95% of the time I love the book and the other 5% I am frustrated and searching MSDN for clues on why something won't work. Chapter 2 is a good introduction to ADO. Not only are great practical examples given, but the authors explain the pros and cons of the alternatives for implementing something (e.g., datareader vs dataset).
Chapter 6 was my first serious contact with ASP.NET. I got off to a very slow and frustrating start when the connection string to the database would not work for my system and no guidance was given on how to customize it. When I did get the connection up and the the project running, I found that the supplied database had date values that had all expired months before I bought the book. A simple note to go into the database to update the values would have saved me hours of troubleshooting. However, now that I have worked through every page of Chapter 6, I can honestly say that I have built a non-trivial Website using both XML and SQL Server data sources, postbacks, and user controls.

The chapter on deployment was also very useful.

Distasteful, self-aggrandizing tripe
Martin's work clearly demonstrates the caliber of his scholarship--slipshod and biased. This book is only of interest to bigots or those pursuing the study of paranoid anti-Semitism in academia. Alas that 'zero stars' is not a rating option.

Unfounded Idiocy
What Tony Martin has written here is neither masterpiece nor reliable. On the contrary, it is anti-semitic, anti-intellectual, and vindictive. The only thing that can be extrapolated from Martin's lifelong career of anti-semitism and bigotism is that these two problems still exist in our society. We can begin the process of ridding our society of these problems by refusing to subject our minds to his pollution. Supporting Martin by buying his book only feeds into his sickness.

Dr. Tony Martin - My Hero
I just finished this book and made a note to myself to read it again very soon. This book is excellent. I can see right through the viewers who gave this book one star. Highly recommended esp. for those of African descent. I love Dr. Martin for standing up so well to those bullies. Thanks for bringing them into reality. The truth hurts awfully bad!!! READ THIS BOOK!!!!
