EXCELLANT!!!
This is one of the most spiritually helpful books that I have read in a long time. This would be excellant for anyone struggling with why does God allow things to happen. What an uplifting book. Please advise if anyone has found the other 3 books in the series. I want very much to continue the story.

HEY PUBLISHERS!! (...)
BEFORE EDEN pulls back the vail of time and space for the reader to get an up front view of eternity past. Mark Littleton's style of writing captivates the reader by beautifully weaving together the story of this neutral angel and the truth revealed in scripture to bring fourth a compelling look at what eternity past was like. I found myself not able to put the book down and in fact have read it three times. I greatly look forward to the completion of the series. I hope some publishers take notice...

Pure Enlightenment
Before Eden is a well-conceived and extremely well-written behind-the-scenes look at Creation and the war in heaven. The story is a thought-provoking explanation of why faith is important, told by means of an angel's eye view of Evil's waking moments. As an "Alexis DeTocqueville" of events in Heaven leading up to the Flood, our humble angel narrator ponders some of the same questions we all have in our struggle to understand God and the reason for good and evil. Our angel, however, has access to the very throne of the Creator and asks some pretty tough questions and receives some very piercing answers.

Mark Littleton is obviously a man of God with a keen insight into spiritual curiosity. Unfortunately, this first book in a planned series is the only on that made it to print and now it is out of print. Too bad. Everyone with whom I've shared this book has raved about its clever treatment of nagging questions and have been left with a new perspective on the need for faith. And as for the realm of spiritual warfare, Littleton has my vote hands down over Frank Peretti.

If you are a bliever, get and read this book!!

If you are not a believer, get and read this book!!

Great Scriptural Insights
If you are looking for insight into the minds of biblical characters as they struggled through doubts, disappointments and anger, then this book is for you. Littleton starts each chapter with a passage of scripture and then uses that passage to help readers understand how to get honest with God in that particular area of their lives.

Littleton does a fantastic job of helping us see the humanity in the biblical characters that he uses for examples. They have the same struggles with God that we face today. If you are in the midst of one of those struggles right now, find out how God worked in the lives of the saints of old when they got honest with God.

GOD IS! woke me up and warmed me to the core.
GOD IS! is not a treatise out to prove God's existence. Mark Littleton seems to feel that would be superfluous. The book might be titled GOD IS...., for it is made up of tender, strong vignettes about what God is like. Page one begins, "How great is God's love?... 'It's like the Amazon River flowing down to water one daisy.'" Some stories settled on my heart as sweetly as grains of sugar. Others were soothing medicine to sore places inside me. I also felt at times a piercing, correcting some of my misconceptions. The words about God deeply touched and uplifted me. I think this author, like Abraham, must be known by God as His friend. Max Lucado couldn't have said it any more warmly.

A Devotional for Kids!
This is a very age-appropriate devotional for pre-teen boys and girls. Each day's devotion is a story with a topic to which kids can relate. It is comparable to other children's devotionals such as The One Year Book of Devotions for Kids. This is a good devotional to get kids into reading and becoming familiar with their Bibles.

It's wonderful, great, and the best book I've ever read!
I love this book a lot. It's the best book I've ever read. It's very exciting. Chuck is a prejudice freak against D.G. D.G. is one of my favorite characters. Everett is a good leader.Link and Tina do everything the same because they're twins and they 're wimps (just kidding). I love this book alot. Thanks for publishing it. Dylan

Depression or Spiritual Dark Night!
The author shares experiences of a bout or depression or is it the dark night of the soul (spiritually speaking). It was good to read of someone's experiences who were similar to mine. I'm a Christian dealing with depression over childhood issues and at the same time experiencing spiritual abandonment. The author shares the struggle between knowing in our heads and from our past that God is present but the emotional and internal feeling that God is no longer around. This book is the only contemporary writing that I have found on what early Christian mystics (John of the Cross and Teresa of Avila) described as the dark night of the soul. After sharing his experience the author analyzes the theological/spiritual conclusions he has drawn from the experience. Some of his theology is creative, interesting but not mainstream fundamental beliefs.

offers REAL hope for those struggling with depression
This is an incredible book about depression from someone who has experienced it. I personally was encouraged by the author's honesty about his personal struggle with depression and what he learned from it. I have recently heard that this book is out of print which frustrates me. During my struggle with depression it was the only book that made me feel like I was not at the end of my rope but instead gave me hope!!

How different Bible characters handled trying situations!
Are you always cool under pressure? No? Than you're in good company-Moses, Joseph, Joshua, Paul. . . It's easy to forget that they were regular people just like you. They got nervous when they faced tough challenges too. They had second thoughts just like you. They were tempted to back down, but they didn't. They trusted God to give them strength and boldness when the heat was on. You can have that same kind of strength. From the examples of these and other Bible people, you will discover how not to back down. You'll gain dramatic new confidence to boldly face trying situations and hang on to what you believe - even when your palms are sweaty. Can easily be applied to every day problems. Has cute drawings too!

Ripoff of a ripoff
If you are not familiar with the series of which this is a hollow imitation, Neale Donald Walsch's "Conversations with God" trilogy, I urge you to check these out first, and then laugh at this ridiculous attempt to morph mainstream Christianity into something other than what it is: intimidation and pettiness. While Walsch's books are not flawless themselves (in fact, they are painfully derivative of New-Age mantras), this book stoops below even these. It is almost not even worth the time and effort to scoff at, if this tells you anything.

Excellant book!
This is a wonderful book. It allows your imagination to float with the coversation the author holds with God. He doesn't humanize God but rather personalizes Him with the questions he asks. The voice language used for God is modern and relatable. This is easy reading and you come away feeling that God does love His children and why. It is also biblically based without the new age garbage that is in many books today.

I recommend this book highly and plan on giving them as Christmas presents to close friends.

I liked this book
Refreshing view of a loving caring God. He is not mad at us, in spite of what we do. He gave us the greatest gift. This book states just that. I didnt read the other CWG, so I cannot make any comments about it. Littletons book was very refreshing to me during a hectic time.

This guy does not know what he is talking about
I thought that this would be a great book. I was wrong... i went to see what he said about my favorite groups, Toad the Wet Sprocket and Gin Blossoms. He practically destroyed their images. Only someone who just hears the lyrics of groups he has never heard to would write the things he did...And by the way, why is there no review about IRON MAIDEN??? At least they escaped your words...

Good insight into the music world
This book is a very good resource for parents of children who are immersed in the secular rock culture, and for people who have friends that are. There is a good background on many of the dangers and mindset of those in the secular rock culture, as well as a list of Christian alternatives. There is also a fairly comprehensive list of individual artists with explanations of their worldviews based on their lyrics. Some Christian artists are included, but their descriptions, though good, are not very specific and become repetitive.

If you and your family are into Christian music and are safe from the dangers listed therein, this book may be an interesting read, but not necessary reading. You may feel the need to, in the authors words, "purify your hearts" against what you have read. The book does not contain four letter words spelled out, but the descriptions are adequate enough.

IT IS AN AWESOME BOOK IT HAS HELPED ME ALOT!
YOUR BOOK IS SO AWESOME! I LOVE IT! IT HAS HELPED ME SEE AND REALIZE THAT WHAT I WAS LISTENING TO WAS EFFECTING MY CHRISTIAN WALK. I WISH I COULD JUST FORCE SOME OF MY CHRISTIAN FRIENDS TO READ IT (THE ONES THAT ARE LISTENING TO LIKE KORN AND METALLICA) I JUST WANT TO SAY I LOVE YOUR BOOK! I GOT IT AS A CHRISTMAS PRESENT AND I THINK IT IS ONE OF THE BEST PRESENTS ANYONE COULD GET. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HAVING SUCH A HEART AND DEVOTION TO GOD THAT YOU COULD WRITE THIS BOOK IT HAS REALLY HELPED ME GOD BLESS!

The Rest of the Story
Mark Littleton has written several books in the Zondervan Sports Heroes series. Each book follows a similar format: brief, standard biographies of the sports career of 6 or 7 athletes with an added touch ala Commentator Paul Harvey's "The Rest of the Story."

The added touch is how each individual athlete found that his/her faith in God made him/her a more complete human being, if not a more perfect competitor.

Sadly, many of the books are out of print, but may be available in libraries or through special services of Amazon or other booksellers.

I recommend these books for both parents and their preteens and teens to read. The torn social framework created by over-competitive parents living vicariously through their athlete-children cries out for repair with a strong dose of the faith found by each of Mr. Littleton's subjects.

The moral is "You can be a pretty good athlete or even a star WITHOUT being a jerk!"
