This is actually my second book report on "Baseball's Zaniest Stars". I read it in seventh grade, and did a book report on it, and I'm doing one here. "Baseball' Zaniest Stars" is a great book for introducing kids to the history and folklore or the wonderful game of baseball. Of course, the topic of the book is the "zaniest" players. In the book, I learned about Bobo Newsome, and how many times he was traded (a lot), the young Casey Stengel playing outfield for the Brooklyn Dodgers, putting a bird under his cap before he took the field, and releasing it during the inning, Rabbit Maranville with his antics like putting soap chips in his mouth, and then foaming at the mouth in front of his teammates, who backed away from him, thinking that he had rabies, and most memorably Babe Herman, who caused a catastrophe for the daffy Dodgers of the 1920's, causing havoc on the basepaths, and causing the Dodgers to have three men on one base. I recommend this book highly. By the way, I think that I did a better book report on this when I was in seventh grade---- I think i received an A+ on that one----on this one I probably deserve an F!!!!!

I read basketball talk and I suggest it for anybody who likes basketball. I learned some new things about basketball and some things I already knew.There are a lot of rules in basketball and you have to remember them.

Arthur Murray is perhaps the most acclaimed teacher of dance technique EVER. This book offers detailed text, illustrations and diagrams on a wide variety of basic and unique dance styles. A very usueful instructional/reference book!!

My dad bought me this book when I was nine years old. That was about 35 years ago. I still remember some of the lessons it taught me and relate them to my 7 year old. This is a great book to teach your child the fundamentals of the great game of baseball.

This book introduced me to many sports that my environment never did. I was probably 10 when I read it and I learned stories about golf, tennis, and others sports that were not played by anyone where I lived. The stories are short and were offered in big print with a funny drawing. I probably read it 20 times! Buy this for your young sports fan!

A review of four stars may be generous, but it does not nearly do justice to a book of such brilliance. The stories were definitely strange and also true; hence, the book lived up to its billing. The stories were constantly amusing, and taught me new and interesting facts about sports and athletes with which I would otherwise not be familiar. In conclusion, anything less than a five star rating is intolerable for such a classic childhood book.

Rocky Graziano's book titled "Rocky's Boxing Book: Teaching the Art of Self Defense" provides a very brief overview of boxing techniques and strategies. Parts of the book are written in a conversational tone and describes basic punchs, offensive and defensive boxing strategies. The book is illustrated in drawings and not the color photos that you would expect in a book of this kind. All in all, the book will not have a knock-out appeal to childern or adults.

This is a wonderful little book. It fills a large gap in the area of sports literature. It is very difficult to find a good history of any the major sports (other than perhaps baseball).
Most publications have very little history, or else they are totally involved with one specific player, team or incident.
This book gives us 6 to 10 pages about each playoff series up to 1970. There are some wonderful stories and great memories of the stars of yesterday.
