Changes the world for bibliographers
The format of this bibliography is without precedent. We suspect that this book will one day be considered the prototype for all bibliographies because of its clarity, ease of use, and the lavish production details.

Honest and concise
This book provides the most honest and concise bibliography of one of the foremost authors of our time and Mr. Pastore has essentially re-engineered how a bibliography should be written - that "thin" can be better than "fat".

The best research bibliography on the market.
This book will serve as a high water mark for all bibliographies to follow. The numerous illustrations, the obvious painstaking care with which the material was assembled and, above all, the accessability of the material to all researchers, professional and novice, make this a necessity for any library.

Essential reading for the dental public health professional
Burt and Eklund have taken a good thing and made it better. The new edition of "Dentistry, Dental Practice, and the Community" maintains the attention to detail and liberal referencing that was found in the 4th edition, but it adds tables and charts that are easier to read and tighter organization of the chapters such that common topics flow together more readily. Congratulations on a job well done.

The real community dentistry in most of the world
All other books like european books about the subject, are produced on a view embarassed for central, uniform and national health plans. This book make present in literature, the reality of many kinds of dental services delivery, like the state and private market. This aproach is more close with the real situation for most countries, speciality in plural societys.

For this reasons, that book is a powerfull toll for all Dentists interessed in knowing "how is" the actual basis that are building a future of our profession.

Lots of fun!
Exciting basketball competition and mysteries to solve as the team discovers big time activities going on in their small town. Really looking forward to the other books in the series! Couldn't put this one down.

Excellent youth/children's book. Clean adventure.
Charming, modern-day adventure in the West. Just a lot of fun to read. Plus a great lesson on unselfishness for kids. I liked the whole series, and that is as an adult who is not into basketball. Now I am buying these books for nephews and nieces. Overall, Bly always tells a creative, different story with surprises and interesting characters; but always a positive tale so you feel good at the last page. I discovered his youth series is a delight when I couldn't find more of his adult books in our small library.

Action Rhymes for You and Your Friends
Published in Paperback by DK Publishing (1900)

Familiar songs and some new ones too.
You will immediately recognize songs like The Wheels on the Bus or Row, Row, Row Your Boat, but have you heard of Peter Hammers or I Hear Thunder? I have fun memories of teaching: Six Little Ducks and cutting out little duck visuals in college until late in the night. This book brought back memories of teaching and really will encourage learning.

The book/tape set is nice because children can learn the songs before they can even read. Later, they can read the book and teach their friends the fun rhymes. Children will especially enjoy: She'll Be Coming Round the Mountain. Down by the Station sounded very familiar and I was wondering if my mother might have had fun singing this to me when I was a young child. I thought I heard her voice in the song, well, in the back of my mind while it was playing.

Nice English flavor and accents. The rhymes encourage playfulness and silliness. Oh, to be a kid again! Children are comforted by music and there is no reason you couldn't sing some of these songs to a baby. Some of them are quite funny because the singers improvise a bit. I really don't remember the ending to Row, Row, Row Your Boat and here it has three verses.

The pictures show how to act out the rhymes so this not only becomes an exercise manual for kids ;), it also serves as a babysitter.

You might also enjoy Nursery Rhymes by Debi Gliori and Playtime Rhymes (a similar book/tape set).

Yes, Neil's a genius, but not for going on a book tour.
I'd love to read a weblog about Neil writing American Gods. How did he forge all those sources into a new story that feels true? But this is a weblog about an author going on tour. Honestly, who cares? Neil's a genius, but this is not what he's a genius for. Stick with the stories. Skip the blog.

superb, intelligent colonial who-done-it
In 1638 Newbury Bay in the American Colonies, the British Army massacres the Pequot Indians. The Governor drowns the few surviving captives except for their leader Massaquoit. The widow Catherine Williams, using the influence of the loan her late spouse provided the British, saves the Indian leader's life. Massaquoit objects because he wants to die with his tribesmen rather than be a slave, but has no say in his fate. The brief war leads to greater mistrust between the settlers and the natives.

Catherine learns that a baby died a few days after she helped deliver the child. The father accuses their Irish serving girl of committing murder while the mother remains in muted shock. Catherine thinks this is another case of prejudice, but needs to obtain proof that the serving girl is innocent. With the help of Massaquoit, Catherine begins her own investigation into the death of an infant.

Fans of colonial mysteries will gain much pleasure from Stephen Lewis' THE DUMB SHALL SING. The who-done-it aspects of the tale are entertaining while the novel depicts early seventeenth century Puritan life in the Massachusetts Colony. The fifty-year old Catherine is an intrepid character whose fight against prejudice of all types rings loud and true throughout the tale. The nearly silent, but extremely intelligent Massaquoit serves as a superb partner to the boisterous Catherine. The support cast adds the feel of the austerity of life in that era. Stephen Lewis provides historical mystery buffs with an arousing novel that deserves sequels.

Interesting, entertaining, and all around satisfying
I enjoyed this book completely...it really gave me a sense of the human experience of the journey, and made me appreciate just what an incredible accomplishment it was. The illustrations really add to the enjoyment of the book, as do the excerpts from the journals of several of the men. I also liked the background information on what goals were actually behind the exploration and how they worked to meet those goals. There's only one reason that I didn't give this book 5 stars, and that's because it lacks a good map to help understand where they were during some of the events described. But that can be found in other works, and this really is a good introducion to Lewis and Clark...it's a relatively easy read but full of interesting facts and adventures.

Wonderful
I give high praise to this book and this reading. You will learn so much about the journey, and you'll feel the cold of the winters and the wonderment of their adventures. Taken from their actual journals, this book is even better than "Undaunted Courage". p.s. the unabridged is even better.

Simply Amazing
This audio is a great telling of this amazing journey. Any history buff should order this and play it over and over. The facts of the ride and the aftermath of the characters will leave you in awe.
