Perspectives on a Misunderstood Science
This book gives personal accounts of the writer's involvement in Astrology. She reveals many instances of how this art has changed her life and the lives of others who have sought her advice. This definitely is not a "how to learn Astrology" book, but a wonderful tool for exploring the philosophy of how the alignment of the planets affects a person's behavior, or social climate in general.

Once again, the writing style is very warm and matter-of-fact, as is the case in all the writings of Sybil Leek that I have read. Consequently, it makes for a very pleasurable and easy read. Many of the examples of the use of astrology are drawn through many famous people who visited Mrs. Leek throughout her career - clients such as Ian Fleming and H.G. Wells. Astrological influences are detailed during historical events, such as the Second World War as well as the Vietnam War, which provide for extremely thought-provoking ideas.

The copy I own is 221 pages long, broken down into 13 short chapters. It is very autobiographical, in that it is written as the writer's journey in life, with astrology in the foreground.

In conclusion, I would highly recommend this book to anyone who finds interest in astrology or philosophy. The ideas are very rich and stimulating. I truly enjoyed this book.

wonderful classic reference
Perhaps the most acclaimed (and sought after) book on herbs ever published. The book examines the history and uses (common and unique) of herbs in cosmetics, culinary, medicinal value, and more. It also covers the history of some noted herbalists. I have treasured this reference work for many, many years.

Sybil Leek's "Telepathy: The Respectable Phenomenon"
I searched for this book forever after having read Leek's "Diary of a Witch". I finally found it and she certainly didn't let me down. Her writing is so warm and matter-of-fact. She explains telepathy in a way that takes all the misunderstanding out of the way. She also explains that mysterious period in time when Russia was investigating telepathy in laboratory settings as a possible government tool - VERY interesting. The book is divided into 14 short chapters. The first 10 chapters deal with research and experiences with telepathy and ESP as a child. The last four give exercises and instructions on learning the gift, or "recovering it and recognizing it." I love the writings of Sybil Leek. This book is no exception. It's terribly unfortunate that this book is no longer published.

The Diary of Ronald Reagan's First Astrologer.
I read this book 20 years ago, just before Ronald Reagan was elected, though the book had been written about 15 years before that. It was a pleasant and interesting enough quick read about her life as a "witch" and astrologer among certain circles. As I am a person who has a much more earth-based orientation to life and, I suppose, the craft of being a witch, I could not really relate to her life, but it was still interesting to read about her life and times.

What did strike me, though, and what prompts me to write this, is that she wrote so many years ago about her association with Ronald Reagan. As I remember, she told him many years ago (before he entered politics at all, I believe) that he would have an important role to play in the history of this country.

I had such an eerie feeling as I read that, and such a sinking feeling that she was accurately predicting Reagan's election to the presidency...which did happen just weeks later. I was not at all surprised when years later it came out that the Reagans had been consulting astrologers about the timing, at least, of events relating to the presidency, nation and world.

I would have suggested OTHER witches and astrologers to consult. The Reagans could have learned something about the Earth, the Environment, and a more wholistic way of life from others. Remember, RR considered catsup a vegetable....

But Sybil Leek was a celebrity astrologer, and this is why she came into contact with the Reagans. Because of her contacts and friendships, she has been more influential than one might otherwise imagine. You can file this one under source material for the politics of the 1980's, along with "Where's the Rest of Me" and other simple Reagan biographies which show other little known and unexpected influences upon that era.

Great Book
After reading this book one just has to feel closer to Sybil Leek. Her style of writing is just great and easy to follow. Definate must.

The Gold Standard for all witches writes again
Sybil Leek -- to generations that name means many things, yet, in fact, while many credit Gerald Gardener with the revitalisation of Wicca, Sybil Leek was the one to really bring the neo-Pagan arts to the masses, and to live her craft. I'm only allowed 1000 words here, and I can't even begin to say enough about her. I'd have paid a lot more for this book myself, and have searched for it for a few years. The Complete Art of Witchcraft, in whatever condition you can find it, is also a great read, and if anyone's got a copy of her book of Curses out there, put it up for sale, and I'll see what I can scrape together to give it a good home. Great witches never die, their words and actions live on and ensure them a place in the halls of immortality. May she and Mr. Hotfoot Jackson be reuinted in the Summerlands or beyond, and if that was not her last time around, may I meet her in this incarnation.

Good for beginners
I think of this book as a filter to drive away all wannabes. Its good for beginners because it explains what witchcraft is and isn't. The only problem is that the author is a bit elitist and very traditional. She is also just a bit homophobic, but you have to remember it was written in another time. I recommend it.

The Art of Witchcraft at its best
Hi I just recently finished The Complete Art of Witchcraft and I found it to be useful in my studies of religions. When i heard of the witchcraft religion or as Ms. Leek said the "Old Religion" i was insantly attracted. See i have always been intersested in witch stuff. I have really all my life, 13 years of it, and i may seem young but remember most young people have very good judgement on things they like. Anyway i thought the content was very good and she explained it very well. I think Ms. Sybil Leek did an excellent job if you people would rate higher than five i am positive in knowing that i would have given at least a ten on this.

The ultimate guide and story of Witchcraft
Sybil Leek speaks for many, and for me especially in the way she describes the tenets of the Old Religeon. Never before has anyone been so eloquent in the description of Witchcraft in the ways I have always followed (without formal training). For the beginner, this book outlines a wonderful path to travel, with easily understandable wording and phrasing. Sybil follows the Dianic Tradition, but her description of the Craft can apply to all.

A book to earmark, underline, return to again and again and passages to add to one's own Book of Shadows.

Sybil, I do love you. Blessed Be.
