It is truly an amazing world beneath the surface of the sea, which by some counts makes up something like 97 percent of the biosphere of this planet. Great books help bring this alien but important realm to life. Recommended.

The first section's greatest contribution is its perspective on individual Old English words. If you are intrigued by kennings, then there are two or three interesting chapters in this book which seem to offer a novel treatment of the subject. This work has a comprehensive bibliography and seems solidly based in text.
The Christian context, in structure, language, character, etc. is the overarching theme of the second half of the book, which is divided into chapter length essays. This section would be most useful to someone investigating the pagan/Christian juxtaposition in Beowulf. At times I disagreed with various points/premises, but the overall argument was compelling.

So, they team up. And together, they will find the cause of this mystery to put an end to it. But the task at hand appears to be much harder than anticipated.
The story is okay and is mostly about morals and innocence. The writing is very good, especially the monologues. And the colouring by Angelo Tsang and Pat Lee is excellent. They look like still images of some Manga animated fest, but drawn by Marvel. This is one of the few books that really made the images animate in my mind. Logan is drawn kinda weird though, but that didn't spoil the beauty of the colouring.
The characters make this a winner. All characters are given alot of depth. Especially Frank Castle, who seemed very flat and linear before. I especially love the first chapter. Wolverine's narration is great in that one. Highly recommended!

As a piece of science-journalism it fails to ignite. The author spends too much time dwelling on her own success at becoming the first female pilot of deep-sea vessel, Alvin. She forgets the "gee-whiz factor" which is necessary for a book of this type.
This is the only book I've given away in over 35 years. No strings attached.
