I purchased this particular bible based upon "Power for Living"'s praise for the New Living Translation, and the other reviewer who said I'd be glad I bought it in less than a month. They're both right. I'm sorry to say I had never sat down and read the Bible at any great length until now (at age 51). Now I've read most of the New Testament, and plan to finish the whole Book within a year. The "Daily Walk" introductions for the various pieces are very informative and well done. I think anyone who gets this version will be well-pleased.

A friend recommended this Bible to me. I usually use a NIV Bible and wasn't sure about this translation, but it is wonderful. It is not like the Living Bible where everything is written in more modern terms. It is similar to the NIV only easier to understand.

The Bible is divided so that you read six days and have the seventh day to reflect and/or catch up. Each day's reading begins with a devotion, a synopsis of the reading, things to think about concerning the reading, and suggestions as to how to apply the lessons learned to your everyday life. It is not simply a devotional. It is the complete Bible with thought provoking commentary and simple explanations that anyone can understand. I highly recommend it to anyone...even those who do not desire to read the Bible in a year. It is a great Bible for everyday study and use at church.

This is my 4th year in going thru this Bible. It has been an excellent tool in helping me be consistent in my quiet times.
The notes (Overview, Your Daily Walk, Insights) are wonderful, filled with lots of great illustrations and insights into the Scriptures.
As a Pastor for 25 years it has been a refreshing well of living water. I've personally purchased and have given away over 40 copies to those I've counseled and discipled. I want everyone in our church to start reading it! You can start any time/date!

This Bible published by Tyndale has taken God's word and inserted brief presentations between selected chapters. The book is an easy to read New International Version translation. Each day's reading is keyed to the book of the Bible and placed in context with the entire scriptures.

We have been using this particular "help" Bible for the past five years and have given a number of them away to family, acquaintances and friends.

The NIV translation is in close harmony with the King James Version, but uses modern day English.

The format used throughout this daily meditation format is highly personal and written at a level of understanding such that individuals with little or no church background should be able to grasp the essence of each day's assigned reading.

Combining modern day English and a from-the-basics approach to introducing the subject material make this an excellent all around personal study guide.

The outlining of the Bible is excellent and helps both the first time and lifetime reader better understand God's purpose for our lives.

The Steers & Black Organizational Behavior textbook does an excellent job of covering Organizational Behavior for both undergraduate and graduate student. I've taught with several prior editions and wish that Steers would come out with a new edition. While the content of the book is still up-to-date, students have had a tendency to be turned off by the copyright date of the text. Overall, the text is well done and I'd highly recommend it for individuals desiring to gain additional information about Organizational Behavior. It also has a number of nice short personality-oriented tests which students seem to enjoy and which provide increased understanding of the concepts for the students.

I have to admit that it is an excellent book if you want to do research or find refrences about a topic, but if you want to keep it handy in your practice or use it for passing tests then you better buy something else or you need to buy at least the last "3" editions of the book. because all chapters refer to old editions for diagnosis,epidemiology or what os ever.basicaly you need to page all 3 last editions to get a clueabout what you were looking for.

The only drawback in this excellant series of books is the long interval between volumes.There should be an on-line site for these books to alow regular udates of new practices and proceedures.

This book has a relevant importance in Veterinary pratice in Brasil (my country). Vets all over the country, especially those who wants to know wich medicine to use, how to use and how does it work, believe this book is essential to their daily practice.

It's a nice little book, that's it. It has some poems about Tolkien and his world with no rhymes (mostly) and some quotes. Some older people or some professors :) might like it, but not me. The only reason I gave it three stars is because it had two funny poems in there.

An essay of Auden's does appear in the book. It is in fact, a hodgepodge of Tolkien related material, mostly essays (including a short biography) but also stories set in Middle Earth, songs, poems, word games, and even recipies written by other authors. It is an interseting look at Tolkien fandom. I found the black & white interior illustrations simply breathtaking the first time I saw this book. For me, it is the most important Tolkien related book not actually written by him, and the one that is most worth having. I found it at a library over ten years ago, and recently gave up hope of ever seeing it again, but here it is.
