I purchased the Insider's Guide after months of frustration and failure to even get a pharmaceutical sales interview. I simply did not know what I was doing! After reading the Insider Guide to Pharmaceutical Sales and following the instructions on networking and passing interviews, I gained a position with a pharmaceutical company within 6 weeks! It took three weeks to get through my interviews. Jane certainly knows the industry! Most of the questions from the guide were covered during my interviews. The in-depth pharmaceutical sales questions and answers from the guide were extremely helpful! All of the questions and answers are specific for the pharmaceutical sales industry. Without the detailed answers and examples that this guide provided, I doubt that I could have successfully "sold" the product during the interview.
Thanks so much Jane for delivering exactly what you promised!
I was surprised that the pharmaceutical company who hired me would ask so many questions that relate directly to what a pharmaceutical sales representative does, but they did just that. When I read all the questions and answers in the "Insider's Guide..." I thought that surely no one could be expected to know this much information about the pharmaceutical sales industry, but they do expect you to know the information. Fortunately for me, I was prepared!
The Insider's Guide was by far the most comprehensive guide that I purchased and contained the most relevant information for passing the interviews. To all of the aspiring pharmaceutical sales reps, my advice is to purchase this guide and then follow Jane's instructions to the letter. Even if you have a degree in English like me, you too could beat out the competition and win the pharmaceutical sales position!

The Nancy Beth Cruzan case took the better part of ten years before resolution. The lawyer who fought for her right to be disconnected from the feeding tube was William Colby, the author of this outstanding book. Those of us on the front lines of trying to help families prepare for the issues they will face at the end of life will find insight into the ramifications of that case, as well as grist for the mill of the work that we are doing.
Colby is a highly readable author (at times, I felt like I was reading a Grisham novel), the Cruzan's case is deeply compelling, the story is truly tragic, and readers will come away with an appreciation of the law and concepts that are involved in pursuing these matters. There are several important story lines running throughout this volume: There are the lawyers, one who pulls an unexpected punch; the politicians, aiming for re-election; the Cruzans, especially Nancy's father, Joe, a salt-of-the-earth laborer, broken to the core over the loss of his little girl; a common sense probate judge, just trying to do the right thing; and the right-to-life movement (with whom we generally have sympathy, but not in this case). Indeed, under the skillful telling of Mr. Colby, law itself becomes a character, fickle at times, inflexible at others, and, at the last, compassionate.
ElderHope heartily recommends this excellent book.
His success as an attorney and an author parallels his success as a husband and a father. Congratulations Bill! You've done beautifully in all areas.

Our forefathers, with courage and genius, created the most immitated society the world has ever known. How proud and fortunate this audio book makes one feel. I'm committed to listening to it with my teenage nieces and nephews on a "captive" drive sometime. It'll be a great topic for discussion.
Although (as Bill Bennett rightly points out) our founding Fathers (and Mothers) often fell far short of their own ideals and were profoundly skeptical about the potential of people to do the right thing, they also aspired to a kind of virtue on Earth that combined true nobility of spirit and deed with good relations towards others.
Bennett has put these ideals into the following categories: patriotism and courage; love and courtship; civility and friendship; education of the head and heart; industry and frugality; justice; and piety. You can dip your inquisitive toe into any of these, whenever you want. .... I suggest that in addition to buying a copy for yourself, that you plan to give this book as a gift to your children and grandchildren as they reach the age when they will begin to make important moral choices for themselves. .... In most cases, I felt like the material here was stating timeless principles that do apply today ....
Bennett does a nice job as editor in explaining the context of each passage. His love of these people, these ideals, and these words is obvious. It will move you. And hopefully inspire you to follow the good advice in those words.
Nicely done, Bill Bennett! This is a good use of history . . . to help us learn not to repeat the mistakes of the past needlessly.

Wolfe has a stunning visual style - his animal shots appear to be more portraits than wildlife photography. I found myself wondering how he could have possibly captured some shots. Better still, he captures them in their habitats, combining landscape with flora and fauna as only he can. Animals from virtually every climate are featured: desert to temperate zone. For the true animal lover, he includes briefs on each animal species featured, much in the way most modern zoos do. These are combined with essays from respected zoologists like Jane Goodall.
The net effect? A beautiful, high-quality photographic collection, wrapped in an interesting and informative package. I recommend this highly to lovers of photography, animals, or show-off quality coffee table books.
Check out his other works as well. Stunning.

If you notice right below the reading level for this item, it says "Hard Cover". So I thought that this was the edition that includes the cassette. It does not.
The book seems great otherwise, but you MUST know French and be able to read music though. It is difficult to know what tune you should be singing in if you can't read musical notes.

The main question with using the "Iliad" is class is picking a worthy version in English. The Lattimore translation is certainly above average, but I think the Fagles translation is far and away the best available (hence the one star deduction for this translation, which I have been compelled to use in the past) and I would not really consider using anything else in my Classical Greek and Roman Mythology course. I also like to use the "Iliad" as part of a larger epic involving the plays of Euripides, specifically "Iphigenia at Aulis" and "Trojan Women," as well as relevant sections from the "Aeneid" and other sources on the Fall of Troy. But the "Iliad" remains the centerpiece of any such larger tale, mainly because of the final dramatic confrontation when King Priam goes to weep over the bloody hands of Achilles. Not until Steinbeck writes "The Grapes of Wrath" is there anything in Western Literature offering as stunning an end piece.

This is not just a *Tiger Beat* oooooo & ahhh, look at him book. Quite introspective as to what a royals life entails even at an early age. But, ok, he IS cute too! Authoress Valerie Garner interjects interesting factoids. Enjoyable addition to bio collections.
