A different perspective
This is my 7 year old son's favorite book at the moment, which surprises me, because it's about a man who retires and fulfills his dream to become a hot dog man!

Not something every 7 year old can relate to, but it's a well told, interesting little story.

We see Stan's hopes that his new business will succeed. We watch as he shows compassion for a poor family, and when a snowstorm threatens school children, we see just how wonderful Stan really is.

He's a very likeable character, and spending the day with Stan is like spending the day with Grandpa.

Lovely story and easy for beginning readers.

good book
This is a level 2 easy reader about a man who retires and becomes a hot dog man. A very cute story about a man and his wife. My 7 year old enjoyed reading this book.

A happy feel-good throughout
A refreshing change from Disneyesque "children's" stories that seem necessarily to involve death, destruction, orphaned babies, violence, or assorted misfortune. This book offers page-after-page of a good-hearted story about a good-hearted man. Exactly the book you will want to read with your 3-year-old fresh out of the tub.

great kids book
Such a shame the book is out of print. I was looking to get a new copy because my two boys wore ours out. Funny pictures, simple text, they love to read along and join in with the oh no!

Imaginative and Fun Book
This book (Is there an Elephant in Your Kitchen) is fun to read and fun to hear. The pictures are funny! The text moves right along. The kids in playgroup gather quickly when they see that I'm about to read this book. They interact with the story, shouting 'yes' and 'oh no!' at the appropriate places. I am saddened to see that this book is out of print.

OH NO! What a delightful book!
My husband and I have read this book to both our are daughters during their babyhood and toddler years, and they loved it! The bright illustration of silly seals taking over the park, and the anticipation of yelling "OH NO" when the seals are discovered adds to the delight!

Your Out of Here!!
I didn't particularly like Here Comes the Strikeout. I thought the reading level was a little higher then what they said it was. It was also a little long and I don't think it could keep a child's interest. Young children are mainly looking at the pictures and this book didn't have good pictures that really illustrated what the book was trying to say. I would recommend with book for first graders maybe, but not kids younger then that. The vocabulary is simple but some of the words in sentences are quite tongue-twisters and I think this will get children discouraged if they can't say them. All together, I really don't like this book for young children.

Baseball and Inspiration
Nobody gets anything right the first time, except those kids you never really liked anyway. So most children will be able to relate to Bobby, and how he struck out a good 21 times in a row ... after getting some good advice (and practice) from a friend, baseball has some potential for him. Kids will be inspired to keep trying at anything they've been having trouble with in life, especially if they love it deep down and heart, and really want to succeed. Where there's a will, there's a way. Go Bobby!

Gets young sports enthusiast into reading!
This book was action packed for a young reader book. It got my son to put down the ball and read enthusiastically! He read with more excitement than I had ever heard from him. If you are having trouble getting a active young sportsman into books, give this one a try!

THE MISSING BALL GLOVE
IRONIC AND FUNNY (AN I CAN READ)READER. OLDER IS USUALLY BETTER. IT'S CUTE AND IT'S ANOTHER GOOD BOY BOOK. THESE OLDER BOOKS ARE JUST BETTER FOR THE OLD FASHIONED FAMILIES AND MOST HOMESCHOOLERS THAT I KNOW. THE MYSTERY WAS SOLVED, BY THE WAY.

A Timeless Treasure
I won an autographed copy of this book in 1982 at a 'Tricky Tray' in our local elementary school. When I brought it home it was a big hit with my children. Read, reread and always handled with great care because "she" had signed it. After a while my childrens taste in literature moved on and this book was put onto the book shelf awaiting a new reader.
I gave this book to my second grade granddaughter this week to read and she has not dissapointed me. Too Many Rabbits is once again being read to many times and enjoyed immensly by yet another generation.
We have all loved Miss Molly and her rabbits. Miss Molly has shown us caring and compassion as she learns to live with her many rabbits. She has shown us problem solving in her humane way of placing these same rabbits in another home when they have become to much for her to handle. I highly recommnend this book for other young readers.
