This book has totally changed my life. RT Kendall offers an amazing piece of work that, as you discover from the book, was born out of his own personal experience. The book is full of practical teaching about what our misconceptions of forgiveness are and what true Godly forgiveness is. This is not a book that tries to being a complex formula to forgiveness but rather it tries to explain from biblical concepts the importance of choosing to forgive those who have hurt us and our loved ones. I read it on the recommendation of a friend and have been thoroughly blessed.

This is an awesome book. R.T. Kendall goes beyond just forgiveness here. He shows us how God not only wants us to forgive, but to take it to the next level which is to bless those we have forgiven. He provides insight to why we may be holding grudges and understanding to why some people have difficulty in forgiving and how we can handle it. I definitely will re-read this one over and over.

At first I thought, what more can they say about forgiveness? Well, lots! I would title this book, "Total Forgiveness, Your Final Acid Test". It is excellent! Very thought provoking.

This is a great book. James Kennedy is used by God to spread His life saving message.

This was one of the best books I have ever read. It is very thought provoking. It is frightening when you realize the decline in the morality of our nation. This book has changed my thinking. I am not as complacent as I was. I am not going to sit by and wait for the someone else to make a difference. I intend to live my life as a woman of integrity. With God's help, I will make a difference . . one life at a time. I believe that if you read this book, it will make you a better person.

Charlie Jones shows he is a master of cutting to the chase and teaching us the lessons of History that are found in the individuals that make it. Read it and see why Charlie is one of my heroes. Now, do yourself a favor and order it. While you are at it, buy a copy of "Life is Tremendous." It Is and the book is too.

Christians (and all those otherwise calling themselves by that name), will either read in the delight of joyful affirmation--or take serious account of what they should be doing already...(the book's title). Written from the heart a man solely devoted to God, this book is filled with spiritual knowledge, guidance, and "pearls." Recommended for ALL "children of God."

This is the book that convinced me to homeschool. It looks at the failure of the public school system in teaching our children, statistics regarding teachers, increase in crime, SAT scores, etc. and the political issues driving the public schools. Great book.

Book One of the "Winning the Battle" series, Running Deep: A Novel Of Submarines, SEALs And Souls by Robert Evan Stevens is a tense, deftly written nautical thriller with a cast of characters possessed of hidden secrets, agendas, doubts and fears. A superbly presented, high impact novel that capture's the reader's attention and holds it fast through trauma conflict, Running Deep is a very exciting read from first page to last.

Dr. D. James Kennedy's, TURN IT TO GOLD offers a wealth of encouragement in a back-to-basics style. The chapters are each self-sustaining, but come together to lift the reader in a way that soothes the spirit and re-ignites a fire of hope in the weary heart. A great pick for anyone who is at the end of his rope, but also a nice re-read any time encouragement and perspective is sought. Dr. Kennedy empowers the reader to become proactive in his circumstances by CHOOSING joy over sorrow, faith over worry, and hope over despair. Though now out of print, it is worth finding, one to keep and one to loan (you won't want to part with yours! ).

Having just finished reading this helpful work on forgiveness, I can attest that it clarifies many difficulties that modernity has caused in viewing the problems of sin, personal offenses, and reconciliation. I certainly did not agree with everything he wrote--he distinguishes punishment of sin from ongoing consequences in a way I don't believe the Bible teaches--but overall he has written a very straightforward, helpful book. The chapters are brief, the language is easily understood, and his thoughts progress in a logical fashion. Recommended.

God forgives us conditionally, upon our repentance. God does not hold us to a higher standard than he holds himself. We forgive others in the same way God forgives us.

The authors do a fine job of discussing the many questions raised in our minds about forgiveness, and they look at the whole of Scripture to find answers. Unlike some books based more on pop psychology, this book is true to the Word. God's way is a lot more freeing than the "pretend you've forgiven when you haven't in the name of love" approach often advocated today. The best book I've found on forgiveness.

As a pastor of 22 years, I have preached and counseled these principles. Guilty consciences have been relieved and offenders have truly repented and became willing to re-establish credibility. American evangelicalism needs this book! A must for anyone who ministers to people--including dedicated laymen.

This is the very best book I have ever read about forgiveness. For years I stuggled with forgiving people who did not think they needed forgiveness or who would not ask. I did not see anywhere in scripture that I must forgive before others ask for forgiveness. Finally, Jay Adams writes a book that reveals everything I believe God tells us about how we are to forgive.

Every pastor and church leader should read this book. I have not met a pastor yet who teaches the things Jay Adams reveals in this book. True forgiveness is powerful and must not be given lightly. Few people understand this. True forgiveness does bring healing, but few people understand how to get or give true forgiveness. This is a MUST read book for every Christian, even if you have read every book available on this topic. If you want justice and true reconciliation but have been told you are unloving and unforgiving, read this book. I finally have peace knowing that I do not stand alone in my beliefs about godly forgiveness.

This is a pretty good book on how to do door-to-door "friendship" evangelism. I used this as a text book in a Evangelism class that I took at Lee University, and greatly enjoyed it. The book is designed so you could take the information you learned in this book, and train others with it.

My only complaint about the book is that it does not encourage people to be a little more aggressive in their presentation of the gospel. If one is not careful, and simply tried to use this book as the only method of presenting the gospel to sinners, then one could end up reducing the gospel to "Jesus is my buddy, Jesus is my pal, Jesus makes me feel good."

I would recommend not using the outline for presenting the gospel very strictly, but simply as a basic template (which is good at incorperating all the basic elements of the gospel).

Ultimately... my opinion is that this is a great book, and every church would do well to get this into the hands of their members.

Easy to read and has step by step instructions on how to share the gospel

I am not surprised by the lack of Amazon reviews of this book compared to other books in the Christian arena. Christians love to stockpile knowledge for themselves to better their own lives. When it comes to actively sharing that knowledge with others, however, that's often too uncomfortable. In short, Christians shy away from the topic of evangelism, hence the lack of reviews.

Yes, this is not only a great evangelism work, it's also a wonderful apologetics primer. Evangelism and apologetics are closely related. The minute you step into the arena of evangelism, you will be called upon to defend the Bible and this book is a terrific resource on both counts.

As a past Evangelism Explosion senior trainer I can attest to the effectiveness of the principles in this book. Dr. Kennedy guides the reader through a conversational process that will have you leading others to true assurance of salvation.

I now belong to a cell group church and I find it interesting that cell church writers seem offended by Dr. Kennedy's approach. I use it in conversation in the hope that I can lead people to discipleship through my cell group.

Others criticize the EE program for being too "canned" or lengthy. Dr. Kennedy addresses both of these issues in the book. Nowhere does Dr. Kennedy say that the outline has to be used in it's entirety and the same way for every person approached. The basis of EE is two simple diagnostic questions that begin a beautiful outline. How much you add or delete from the outline in the course of a conversation is limited only by the amount of time you wish to invest in the person you're dealing with.

A third criticism has to do with repentance. The EE program deals with this topic quite clearly. If people are not hearing about the biblical need for repentance, the problem is not with the EE program but with those presenting it.

The two diagnostic questions mentioned are perfect tools to deal with the American religious mindset but I admit, they may fall short in other non-Christian cultures. Nonetheless, Dr. Kennedy has managed to reach his goal of obtaining EE "missionaires" in every country of the world.

Don't believe the lie that says you don't have to evangelize unless you have the "gift of evangelism". Christ's call to preach the gospel is not a suggestion, it's a command. C'mon pastors, what are you waiting for? If just one person in your church catches the fire of this program, those who visit your church will never be the same!
