An amazing story of survival.
Very compelling story. Seems like taken from a dream. It's amazing how much can a human being endure, and it is equally amazing what level of cruelty and sadism can man invent.

A good self-help resource
Practical experience and basic concept of imaging equipment theory, function and repair. Lots of valuable information on installation, calibration and quality. Could be a good book for an associate degree program in biomedical or clinical technology or for someone already working in the field who would like to migrate into imaging repairs.

More than just a kid's book
You might want to dismiss this as one of Bradbury's lesser works because of the simplistic plot and writing style but that would be a mistake. What we have here is one of his most important books and one of his best. Taking cues from Dickens, Bradbury writes a timeless tale of Halloween that isn't carried along by dovetailing plottwists or dense knotted prose but simply a quest to save someone and the boundless exuburance of children. I literally finished this while waiting for a class to start and when I had a few pages left and class started I sat there and finished the book. Once you start reading it you can't stop, the momentum of is one of constant motion. And it's not a kids book, sure the themes of innocence are there but also are the more serious topics of death and darkness, as seen through the filters of a child. For all it's length it's a perfect book for the most part and one that deserves to be read every year together with a bunch of people. On Halloween of course

Perennial favorite for this dark time of year
Every year, every single October, I reread this book which my parents gave to me when I was a young child. It is lyrical and evocative of the time when we were children and thought of Halloween as magical. The streets of the town as Halloween begins, the haunted house where Moundshroud lives, the ancient rituals we are led through by Bradbury, the travel through time and history, the underlying message that death will eventually come for us all -- it is ominous yet strangely comforting to read every time. It is not like his other books, but it is a must-read for all of his fans.

Absolutely Gorgeous!!!!
I first tried to read this book when I was around the suggested reading age (about 12 years old). Now that I'm 18 I finally tuly appreciated this masterpiece. Never before have I seen the true essence of Halloween captured on paper so perfectly. Life and death, night and day, Autumn and Summer, courage and friendship, Halloween and all it's components are presented to the reader in fantastic imagery that will transport you back to those Halloween nights that we miss so much. The nights when you could taste the magic in the air. Bradbury is an artist and these 145 pages are his canvas. If you are a true fan of Halloween or want to become one this book is for you.

pass this one.
This book can be characterized as a list of attached examples, or a collection of notes. It is difficult to follow and not thorough. Rather than explaining concepts the authors give examples, one per chapter. Furthermore, most of the material is repeated in each chapter since they apply to all the examples. This is a book made in a hurry by compilation of the authors notes. My major interest was in AMT implications which were ignored. After trying to read it for 2 days it went to a corner of my bookcase.

Disagree with Westborogh review - Good Book
A reader from Westborough reviewed the book and did not find it helpful, I disagree. I think the book is intended for the reader like me who has a limited knowledge of their options. In addition, the stories/examples within the books were the best part of the book. If you have an advanced knowledge of options this book might not be right for you, but if you need a simple, easy to read and enjoyable overview of options - I suggest you read this book.

Great Book
I was lost with my options until I read this book. I feel that I am able to guide myself through the maze of options with help of this book.

Good Reference
This book is good for a quick reference. It is filled with sketches that are grouped into categories (chairs, tables, beds).
It can help you identify the style of a piece of furntiture, but doesn't help authenticating the piece.

Hundreds of detailed drawings!
Excellent and easy to use reference book, illustrates styles in thier purest form. Does not treat the subject of authenticity but notes characteristics and idiosyncracies of various examples.

Not What I was looking For...
I would not say this book is terrible-there is alot of good stuff in the last few chapters to educate all-I was just a little disappointed in what seemed to me the long drawn out story of Ms. Ross. I applaud her for her courage to reach out to those in need and share her experiences but, I think less of her story would have gotten the point across.Maybe someone who is in a situation similar to hers would find some comfort here. There is alot of information in the later chapters for therapists who are unfamiliar with suicide grief to benefit from and would greatly help those in need with such.

A Bright Beacon
"Life After Suicide: A Ray of Hope for Those Left Behind" is a bright beacon on a dark subject. The colorful cover caught my attention--yellows and pinks and an inspiring sunrise. So it is with the contents of Ms. Ross's personal account of her husband's death. Her writing is clear as *white glass* in helping those of us struggling to move on after losing a loved one this way.

It is close to the anniversary of my mother's death. Yes, she comitted suicide--alcohol and pill overdose. Do you know how hard that is to type? Or say out loud? The guilt, the grief, sets in and replays throughout the years as relentlessly as crashing tides washing debris upon a desolate beach. Debris that must be delt with. Either tossed and forgotten or picked up and treasured. As quoted in "Tuesdays With Morrie"--death ends a life, not a relationship.

This is a blessing of a book. Collective stories of others, careful research into the subject, ethical debates over the stigmatism of suicide, and even the dealings with the coroner and police--makes this a complete suicide survival guide. I would think this could be used by anyone dealing with this issue; nurses, funeral homes, hospices.

"Ray of Hope" is a cosmic path towards healing.

Thanks for your interest & comments--CDS
