A fast tale of action and romance in the old west
This is a page-turner depicting the battle between the sexes as the main characters take on an impossible task going up against killers and rapists. One of the best Westerns to hit the stands in a while.

Jack Kerouac's Duluoz Legend: The Mythic Form of an Autobiographical Fiction

A New Kerouac finally emerges
This book is among the first to finally piece together a coherent path in Kerouac studies. Jones's book thoroughly delves into Kerouac's Proustian-like epic approach to the Duluoz legend. It is so refreshing to emerge with fresh ideas apropos Kerouac's technique verses the over zealous biographers and cultural blow-hards who pipe in regularly on the Beats. Much of Kerouac's real life had little to do with Beat ethos, and much more with that of the writer. What the author provides is much more than a run-down of the authobiographical mystique that Kerouac injected into his work, but moreso, the complexity of a narrative that turned American literature on its end. This book deserves much more attention and suffices itself as the most import and vital accomplishment in Kerouac studies to date. It will far outlive much of what has been written about one of America''s most misunderstood novelists.

A fast-paced adventure told with humor and style
I enjoy a good, off-the-beaten-trail type of western-adventure story that rings true and upholds the tradition of good over evil. The characters come to life on the first page and refuse to fade into the sunset even after you put the book down. This is an enjoyable tale--one of the best I've read lately. But you should read THREE ACROSS TEXAS first for this one is the sequel and while it stands alone, you'll find greater pleasure in it after reading TEXAS.

Exciting, Real Adventure
A fast-paced, wide-open space adventure with a no nonsense young woman and a boy trained as an expert with a Winchester traveling across the wilds with a somewhat slow-witted but kind giant of a man who can stand feet-to-feet and fist-to-fist with the best of them. A must read for the western fan.

Hard to put down
If you enjoy a good western adventure story don't miss this one. The characters are real and dead-serious in their journey to seek revenge for the killing of their father and sister. Though young, Jonah Fletcher is an expert marksman with his father's Winchester and his sister, Katrina, two years his senior, is the "boss" of this trio of unforgettable characters as they blaze their way across the vast plains filled with dangerous men and rough weather.
