This book should be part of the curriculum in high schools
As a teacher, wife and mother, I truly had a ball reading this hilarious, yet highly instructional guide which was illustrative of the REAL CAR-BUYING EXPERIENCE. My husband is a car salesman and has not read the book yet...he should. It would give him a new perspective on how to approach his next sale...Thank you, girls for the delightful, very useful summary of what I did'nt already know even though I very well SHOULD HAVE, considering we are a true CAR-ORIENTED family.
why can't men read this too?
This book was given to my wife as a birthday present from the principal of the high school where she is an english teacher.I read it and I was very inpressed. It actually helped me a month later when I went to purchase a vehicle for myself.Either change the title ladies,or include the men-we need help too.Anyway, thank you -it is helpful, and a great read.I am a sergent in the police force, and when I first brought this book to the station,my buddies kidded me--later, they thanked me and bought it for their wives.
WHY DID YOU WAIT SO LONG TO WRITE THIS?
Read a write- up of your guide in a New York periodical. I bought it the next day. FANTASTIC! My husband loved it as much as I did. We can't wait for your next book to come out.THANK YOU LADIES!

A well-researched, thorough discussion of a complex issue
Jaffe, Wolfe & Wilson provide readers with the necessary information to understand the dynamics of domestic violence & its impact on child witnesses. They provide multi-level assessment and intervention strategies for professionals to address this complex issue & give hope that we can help to end the intergenerational cycle of violence. All of their work is well-researched and clearly written. An excellent, ground-breaking work.

A cool mix
This is collection of short stories that offers a wide mix of speculative genres. Fantasy, SF, horror, and just plain weird. The stories run the gambit and most are good. "Jeo Defined" and "Moon Warrior" were excellent stories and well worth purchasing the book. Even just the so-so stories were enjoyable and all the authors are names to keep a look out for. In the end, this is a book of up and coming writers and a few of them will no doubt be big names someday.
A Great Read
I didn't know what to expect from this collection of short stories but I was happily surprised. The stories cover a wide range from fantasy, science fiction, and horror to those hard to classify strange stories. Each one is worth reading. My favorites were the one about a radio personality who was singing the Siren's song and the one about a criminal who is forced to undergo "augmentation" to control him. Some wild stuff for a great read.
CONTINUUM: Roleplaying in The Yet

I like the time travel mechanics, but the world didnt hook me
This game has presented the best mechanics on time travel RPG's to date in my opinion. There is no comparison to any other game or system, period. If you want to play with time travel this is the game for you.
The world however that the game is set in was... a bit boring for me. I didn't like the political groups that the characters had to join, the history was unimpressive and seemed half baked, and I was left with the thought "ok, I can travel through time... now what?" I needed a little bit more to understand the motivations of these beings. More of an enemy to oppose.
Great for ideas, not for play...
This book has some great ideas to use in a time travel game. For example the idea of the "yet" - things that you learn you must do in the future to avoid paradox. However, if you use all the ideas the game becomes too complex and difficult to play.
An insightful view of timetravel
This is an excellent book, one of the best RPG's that I've ever seen. I picked this book up at GenCon 1999 and I can't wait to pick up Narscissit (a companion game book) this year. What makes this book so interesting is that it doesn't limit the players or the GM, if you've seen it it happened, if you don't remember the event, it is in your YET, (the required future) otherwise it happened. The book goes on the assumption that the universe just "is" there aren't any rules to control what spanners do, there are rules of conduct as in any society, but no "can'ts"
D.H. Lawrence on Screen: Re-Visioning Prose Style in the Films of "the Rocking-Horse Winner," Sons and Lovers, and Women in Love (Literature and the Visual Arts, Vol. 12)
Published in Hardcover by Peter Lang Publishing (1999)
Amazon base price: $59.95

An insightful book for literary film buffs
What goes in to translating true literary works into cinematic images? The author of this fine new book neither pretends to know what was on D.H. Lawrence's mind when he penned works that would become classics or what was on the minds of directors who crafted some of these work into films. Instead, she offers something more valuable: an almost scene-by-scene assessment of book/movie translation. She astutely looks at what was on the page of "Sons and Lovers," "The Rocking-Horse Winner" and "Women in Love" and the images that were use to convey (and sometimes) alter meanings on screen. It goes without saying that true Lawrence fans will find something interesting here. But this study might also rivet any serious, maturing film director or critic. It contributes meaningfully to our consideration of 20th-Century artistic vision and expression. And fortunately, the author writes clearly and with sharper opinion, than many academics. Dozens of black and white film stills also help us see she what she saw.

Lightweight overview of domestic violence practices
A sadly lightweight overview of domestic violence procedures in the U.S. and Canada. Interesting reading for anyone who wants some indication of what's being done in the field but for any serious academic use this comes off as lacking. No index, not enough referencing and non-academic, may be of interest as a starting point but could have been much better.

Too basic-not advanced enough to address Level 5 questions.
The math cards did not go beyond the minimal presentation of the concepts. They do not prepare the student to answer the more difficult questions on the test.
