Napoleon Hill is one of the most inspiring teachers and speakers on the topic of personal achievement in the 20th and now the 21st Century! This cassette was my introduction to this amazing man with an amazing mission given to him by Mr. Carnegie which consisted of 20 yrs of full time research and application without any compensation. When he speaks, you know it comes from the autority of someone who knows first hand of what he speaks. These tapes are by Napoleon Hill himself which helps you catch the incredible enthusiasm he has for this topic. It is information that is applicable to any area of your life. This is the best tape series to give you a trial experience with an inspiring, knowledgeable teacher. If you want to learn more from him after hearing these tapes then purchase "The Science of Personal Achievement" (6 cassette series). Again Napoleon Hill is the primary narrator with only brief introductions by another person. I have learned how to influence my life toward positive outcomes through the positive steps he outlines. He makes you aware that choosing to think differently can make a major difference in the quality of your life. It's been one of the best purchases I've ever made!

I was initially reticent about buying this course, since I didn't want to find out that I had just bought a re-hash of other Napoleon Hill books. I was very pleasantly surprised with the textbook (I own a used copy, the 1983 Educational Edition), which contains a LOT of new material, and I actually had several "A-HA!" moments that gave me a greater understanding of "Think & Grow Rich" & his other titles; an example this new material I found is in Lesson 6: Personal Initiative, paragraphs 107-128, a VERY detailed account of how a fellow named E.H. Brett came up with an idea, made a definite plan with which to carry it out, and then went on to carry it out step-by-step...and the steps are right there for the reader to follow! This book is worth every penny of the price, and I believe it's worth a LOT more than that - I'm already applying it to my career, and it is making a big difference in how I plan each next step in the achievement of my goals. As in other books by Hill, he often restates the importance of the Mastermind Principle, Personal Initiative and the other lessons in his philosophy; rather than being simply repetitive, each mention fits well within the context of each lesson. In all, Napoleon Hill's ideas are best described as being wonderful instructions for learning how to express and act on your ideas and goals in a clear, step-by-step manner; yes, it can be applied to money, and most often is, but it applies to any goals, no matter what they are.

A must have for any sales professional. A timeless classic to liten to several times a year.

The first book and the only one I know that is so sinus and complete about something that so many people want - to grow and get rich. Napoleon Hill is the first person on earth ever that studied the philosophy of money making, something that no body teaches no one in any school, et every body needs so much to know as much as possible about it and in the 21st century even more. When he wrote this book at the beginning of the 20 century there was no way to make your income grow every month by your type of work the income was linear - but nowadays we have the MLM marketing system, so that one can focus on a monthly target rather than a fixed amount of money he or she would like to achieve in a given amount of time. ...

If you've read Think and Grow Rich, or any other of Hill's books, these tape recordings of Hill speaking live will set your heart on fire! I am writing this review after being throughouly disappointed with Grow Rich! With peace of mind.

I am a 20 year old adult, and I am so frusterated I am at the point of just giving up. I don't believe what Napoleon Hill writes is fair.

Here is why:

The chapters, entitled "How to Transmute sex emotion into achievement power", is a complete minomer. NOWHERE, and I mean NOWHERE in this chapter does it actually say HOW this is done, or tell you what steps to take to gain mastery of this practice.

For readers who are unfamiliar with Dr. Hills claims, he says that "sex" is the biggest driving force for human beings, and to hardness this power would be of great value to your goals and achievements because it would act as an energy source and catalyst because of its motivational power.

I do not have a girlfriend, and I am a virgin, and I would like to harness the power I've accumlated after not giving into pure physical temptation, as Dr. Hill states happens often with more "naive" humans. I was so excited reading this chapter and seeing all the benefits that Hill describes, but feel like crying because Dr. Hill teased me so bad and never gave me ANY clue as to how to harness this power. I am so frusterated that I honesty do feel like criyng. I mean that. I strongly dislike authors who make great claims about how wonderful it is, but offer absolutely no practical advice that your average Joe can put into effect immediately. I wish Dr. Hill would realize that just saying "Learn to transmute the power of sex, and you will be surprised at the accomplishments" is a HECK of a lot easier said than done.

I first read this book at 18 now Iam 42. Their is alot of information to digest in his books. I didn't understand him at first but over the years you start to see what his teachings mean. Yes you will stray from his teachings,but I always come back to his books. You will become more wise,insightful,you will take a better look at yourself and your life. If you are a person that wants a better life,this book and try his others to see which others move you!

In short, this a good read for anyone that needs an uplifting attitude adjustment. The book may seem a little dated but its message is timeless.

This, to me, is a good example of a book that is primarily premise. The idea of London being broken up into little city states is amusing, but Chesterton doesn't do enough with the comic possibilities. It was difficult for me to enjoy this book, while constantly being reminded of "Passport to Pimlico," a much more whimsical take on the notion.

The theme of the Napoleon of Nottingham Hill is that it is better to live a short exciting life than a long boring one. GKC would argue that the moment when you are most lucid and the world is convinced that you are mad is exactly when you are the most sane. The Napoleon of Nottingham Hill is the story of how an irrational war among London's suburbs finally gives meaning to the lives of moderns who have become so board with living. The book also explains what humor is and how man can stand proud without sinning. If you read one book by GKC, let it be this book.

Although this book was written over 60 years ago the principles are timeless! I first read this book back in 1977 and went from a $4 per hr job to a $2,000 income from a part time business, from a 3 yr old Ford Pinto to a NEW LINCOLN MARK V. New Self-Esteem and Aliveness. I have met and known many successful people, including millionaires with net worths upwards to a 1/4 of a billion and they all attribute Think and Grow Rich as having a major role in achieving success. Truly an all- time classic anda must read for anyone serious about success. I also recommend "SUCCESS THROUGH A POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE" by HILL & Clement Stone and "THE MAGIC OF THINKING BIG" by David Schwartz.

In 1992, I suffered three major crisis; loss of my job, marital seperation and loss of a loved one. These elements put me into a tailspin financially and emotionally. THINK & GROW RICH was one of two books that I read at that time and significantly turned my life around! I found myself with no money, huge debts, no friends and no job. I had lost my self esteem and felt powerless. The principles in Think & Grow Rich gave me the how to turn mylife around. After applying the technique descibed on page 36, opportunities began to come to me. Within two weeks, I found new employment actually at a higher income than before. I started a very successful part time home based business, within two months, all bills were caught up and within six months all debts were paid off! With a better attitude I started to attract new people into my life. I went from a extreme negative attitude to a positive attitude, from a negative cash flow to a positive cash flow and from a life of emptiness to a life of aliveness. I believe that THINK & GROW RICH is the very best self developent book of all time! I also own the 8-cassette tape program/course and highly recommend it to everyone. I mentioned that THINK & GROW RICH was one of two books that turned my life around, the other book was More Wealth Without Risk by Charles Givens which is to personal finance what Think & Grow Rich is to Personal Success. I make it a habit to review both books and their tape programs continously and get continued results and ideas.

For years I was stuck in a dead end position. I have a B.S. and figured that would be enough to attract opportunities to me. After talking with our companies V.P. he suggested that I read "Think and Grow Rich" He told me that the most successful people he has met, including the President of this company highly endorse it.The book had a immediate impact and positive affect on my life and carreer. Within a month I was promoted to a management position. That was after working for this company for 6 years and going nowhere. The principles in the wonderful book really do work. I am now recommending this book to all of my people which is incredible because prior to "Think & Grow Rich" I never would have considered reading, let alone recommending the positive mind books. this one is definitely different! I also recommend "SUPERSELF" by Charles Givens particularly for any management or sales person who wants the maximum in personal! effectiveness. And by the way, Superself is also a favorite book at the company that I work for!

This book brought tears of joy to my eyes as I read a story about an acorn on page 115. It was a simalar happening in my life. This is another Great book by Napoleon Hill that I have added to my library of my most prized collection of Great works of the masters

This book is a must read aside from your bible. It will absoultely and totally change your life. How I got through life without this book is incredulous. Do yourself and anyone you love a favor and get this book, and read it at least every 6 months. You will never be the same again.

My initial interest with this book was purely for personal gain, i.e. to get rich! After all, isn't that what the cover implied? However, as I read, my attitude rapidly changed. Financial wealth is just one of the twelve riches in life that Hill so eloquently discusses. The power that exists within each one of us through self-discipline and determination is literally life changing. This is a lifelong study book!
