These Books Make Sense!
Great books for kids between the ages of 8-12, with cool characters like Benny, Jessie, Violet and Henry. this four kids lived in a boxcar until their grandfather found them and brought them back to his home. The neat thing about these book is that they're mysteries, and the mysteries actually make sense! SO i advise all grandparents, parents, uncles aunts and brothers and sisters to buy this for the little ones.

Mystery and Hurricane
I enjoyed this book. It is a mystery during the hurricane season in South Carolina. The mystery is about the Alden children looking for a pirate treasure but someone else is looking for it too! Who do you think will get it? I think you will like this book because it is a mystery to solve and you learn about hurricanes.

A great mystery
This book in the Boxcar Children series involves all of thesame characters in the Alden family. In the beginning of the book, the children learn their grandfather will be traveling to Washington, D.C. for business and the children will get to go too. But because the grandfather will be busy during the day he has arranged for the children to stay at a bed and breakfast. While staying at the bed and breakfast the children meet many fascinating characters who all become suspects in the disappearance of items from the bed and breakfast. The children also make friends with a girl named Almira who is being followed by men in dark suits and sunglasses. While you enjoy the mystery you also get some great information about Washington, D.C. The children visit monuments and museums and share with readers some of the wonderful sights they see. It is a great book to read while studying Washington, D.C. in school. I highly recommend it - my third grade class really enjoyed it.

Very accurate.
My children have always enjoyed the Box Car Children series of books. As a hot air balloon pilot, we could not ignore a Box Car Children book with a balloon theme. I found the accuracy of the text to be very true and also a good source for children to learn about the sport of ballooning. I did some researce about the author and found that she died years before sport ballooning became popular. The "mystery" to me is "who wrote this book"? It must have been a balloon pilot or a balloon crew person. To find out what a balloon crew person does...read the book.

More mystery-like than others
Interesting.Gives me a much stronger "mystery" feeling than most of the others. That is not to say that it's better. My impression is that the emphasis is more on the story than on the Alden children. It is interesting anyway... :)
