A jewel of a book! A Christian book for toddlers that teaches, not preaches; that sings, not stings. From creation to the cross, with Grandma's and snails in between, "Love, That's Why," gets it right. Simple rhymes and vibrant pictures combine to celebrate the wonder of God's creation. Everyone I have shown this book to, from two-year-olds to a seventy-two year-olds, has smiled. I understand this is one in a series of books and music tapes that Henley has created for the toddler set. I am off to find more. You should too!

this is a great book to get children, I'll say 2nd to 5th grade, to read and understand important stories in the bible. It is a day by day reader that should take around 7 to 10 minutes depending on reading skills. there are some illustrations to break up the copy. stories that might appear in different chapters are combined and told in one chapter with references to other chapters. violence and sexual stories are removed/kept to a minimum. Something to consider... GOd is always referred to with a male pronoun. Great indices in the back for referencing stories.

Though I have the video, I thought I'd write a review because the music is so cute and cheerful. My 2 1/2 year old son isn't too interested in most videos, but this one captures his attention; he often does the song motions along with it. I think the audio alone would be fun, too, as long as someone is showing kids how to move and play to the music. For example, one kitchen band song talks about "let's play a muffin tin!" and such. My two kids and I raid the kitchen and make a kitchen band. Another song is about "dancing/tiptoeing/hopping/etc in a ring" where the kids can move around in a circle and do the motions. This could give ideas for a church nursery or play group. Some songs are praise songs ("Praise Jesus! Praise God! We are the kitchen squad!"), so this is definitely a resource Christians will enjoy more than those of other faiths. Few of the selections are non-Christian. This is fun, sweet music!

I ordered this book in hopes that I could use the ideas in the book as lesson for childrens church. The book has lotso f idea but most of them only take a few minutes to complete. A good suplement book for any bible lessons.
