Hippo is always finding new ways to be healthy. He also tends to over do healthy things. This book shows that you can always be doing to much of anything, even if it's for health. Hippo wants to jog so much for health that he tires himself out.
His friends try to stop Hippo when he begins to huff and puff, but he won't stop. In the end, something shocking happens and than Hippo doesn't look so health! I recommend this book for education...

I think the Sweet Pickles series is a must for all kids. They are fun books that kids will pay attention too because of the stories and the illustrations. I read them as a child, then read them to my little brother when he was young, then to my little sister, and now I am trying to acquire the whole series for when I have chilodren of my own.

Excellent book for those children wondering where babies come from. Tactfully shows children all the various ways they may have heard before. In the end, the importance is that we come from Mommies. Very cute book.

I read some of the Sweet Pickles series as a kid, including, "Yakety, Yak, Yak", and my siblings and I found them to be funny and entertaining. We still remember them today. :-)

Despite the blindingly obvious fact that Moody Moose suffers from Bipolar Disorder, Healthy Hippo, the town "doctor" prescribes buttons to treat her symptoms. BUTTONS! This misdiagnosis should come as no surprise considering that he fails to recognize that Goof Off Goose clearly suffers from narcolepsy, Yakkity Yak from attention deficit disorder, and Responsible Rabbit from obsesive compulsive disorder.

For children just beginning to read, this book provides a nice place to start. Although, the book tends to text itemize almost everything seen on every page, which won't necessarily lead to increased word recognition or vocabulary building.

But, I read it with my 4 yr old, and it was fun to simply see how many things we could identify on the pages. Plus, the bear family--the main characters readers follow through a day in their life--are lovable.
