Insightful book about modern worship
First off, I must admit that I enjoy reading Jack Hayford's books. He takes a very common sense approach to the Bible, Christianity, and faith. I think that he does a better job than most other pastors of giving practical insight into Christian concepts. In this book, his focus is worship and how it can change our lives.

I enjoyed this book the most because it is a no nonsense explanation of worship. Basically, Dr. Hayford is hoping that this book will help start a reformation of worship in today's Church. Throughout the book, he tries to confront many traditional notions about worship, and its role for the believer, and the Church. In some ways, this book may challenge you, especially if you come from a very traditional denomination. I know that in my case it has made me take a hard look at my role in daily worship, and during church services.

Dr. Hayford's basic premise is that biblically based worship is the vital key to the success of any church. He goes into great detail about what worship is, and is not. Various topics he discusses include musical worship (songs), prayer, communion, and tithing. He uses various examples from the Bible (Abraham, David, Samuel, Peter, and Paul) to illustrate many of his points. Also, he tries to clarify misconceptions about worship that many believers (including myself) may have. For instance, he explains why worship is actually designed for our benefit, and not God's.

I highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to find out more about worship, and how it can impact your walk with God. I think that you will find this book stimulating, and cause you to examine your own worship practices and effectiveness.

Worship His Majesty: How Praising the King of Kings Will ...
This book is great! I wonder why no one has written a review, after the time this book has spent in the market. The book took its theme from the famous song "Majesty", composed by the author himself, and tells about how worship is a two-way interaction between God and men. God is worthy of our worship, of course, but worship is not only meant for Him. God has made worship a way men can receive the blessings and fullness of life from God. The author took several significant examples from the bible, like the lives of Abraham, Moses, and David, and showed how worship had brought them to receive God's promises in their lives, despite their "humane" errors and limitations.

This book should be read by everyone who desired to know God more, and learns how he works in the lives of men through their worship. Hey, there's a whole lot of things we don't understand about worship. This book will shed some light to that. Praise God!!

A great book to enhance worship of the King of Kings
Jack Hayford has a gift for drawing the reader in and focusing him on the true meaning of worship. A great book for daily devotions, or use in small groups. Each devotion includes a scripture verse from the Psalms, a short reading written by JH, a few scripture references, a prayer and some thought provoking questions. A great book.

Excellent start to build strategic systems of your church
I got this book 2 years ago and it has been a prized reference for me. The ideas presented in the book will challenge old paradigms and stir up strategic thinking & evaluation of your church. Daniel Brown will bring you into thinking of designing a process that transforms people's life (as in a river) instead of just focusing on programs, attendance, performance, series of unconnected events just to attract people (as in a lake). If you are serious about strategizing your church to transform people's life, get this book.

Practical Guidance for Living the Spirit-filled life, daily
Pastor Hayford's 30-plus years of experience in local church ministry, coupled with his ability to communicate God's Word with clarity and passion, uniquely qualifies him to write this wonderful book on Spiritual disciplines. More than just a book on the disciplines, this text gives an expository analysis of the Lord's call to His twelve disciples to follow Him, and shows how we can do the same, every day in every action. By far, the most practical approach to fasting, prayer, and worship that has come along in many years.

Great help in restoring the fallen
I highly recommend this book, not only as an individual who has read it and found many helpful antidotes in ministry, but also as someone who has used it in order to restore others who have fallen. This book offers hope to those who have struggled with past issues and failures, and gives helpful, practical guidelines and theology to help return and person not only to active ministry, but also to active living. I am trying to locate another copy of this book, so that I can pass it on to a friend, because of the helpful content.

It's a must buy.

A fabulous Bible!
Every time someone sees my Bible, they want one! Finally, my spiritual guide admired it and I gave up my tattered copy to him. Now I'm replacing it with the exact same one. This Bible has MANY useful study features. "Word Wealth" (for key words) discusses the root of the Hebrew or Greek word and the word's various uses throughout the Bible. There are extensive footnotes on nearly every page giving additional information and background on key verses; the section on God's covenant with Abraham, alone is worth the price of the book. In addition, there are maps, timelines, comparisons of the four Gospels---all in an easy to read format (NKJ version). Each NT book is preceded by a discussion of the authorship---my only complaint is that these discussions don't go deeply enough into this topic. Also, it's a good size: by no means small, but compact enough to haul with you to church. Several scholars teamed on this Bible, which is written to match Hayford's beliefs (I would say that it supports a conserative, not fundamentalist, viewpoint). To better benefit from all the information packed into this Bible, take the time to read the keys and symbols at the front of the book. This Bible is sturdy and well-bound: after several years of regular use, it had experienced no binding problems whatsoever. Overall, a fabulous Bible that you will use for years to come, with study aids that will enlighten and enrich.

Jack Hayford
As a leader of an all women's Bible Study home cell group I have to say this book is excellent. It has been well received by the people and it has excited us all to be able to get so much information in one package. Jack Hayford's reputation as a writer, teacher, Pastor, and spiritual leader is world wide. He is a master of communicating the Gospel to seekers as well as believers. This book provides one with an excellent accounting of the synoptic Gospels. It leads one step by step to the understanding of Christ's journey from Infant King to Human Sacrifice. It is an awesome and humbling to be able to see God's plan.

Helpful for its insights
Jack Hayford's style is conversational, rather than "preachy," as he guides the reader to a closer spiritual relationship with God, through Christ. Recommended reading for all "Christians under construction."

Understanding the work of the Spirit in your life
Pastor Jack has again, used his gift to pen an very necessary work. There are many converts to Christianity that were the cast offs of society with very wounded pasts who need freedom from the bondage of their past lives. Pastor Jack describes beautifully how the Holy Spirit comes along side of us a directs the reconstruction of our new life in Jesus Christ. If you are wanting to overcome the wounds and hurts of your past, this is a MUST READ!

A Book not just to be read at Christmas Time
As its tiltle suggests, this book is primarily centred on Mary the mother of The Lord Jesus Christ. The book comprises four parts: "The Idea of Incarnation" "The Maid and the Miracle" "The Way Miracles Happen" "Learning to Grow with a Miracle"

From reading this book, it's apparent that any attempt to suggest that Mary was, or is a Saint is very much diminished, but by the same token her humanness and her ordinariness are accentuated. The book is interspersed with personal accounts of how aspects of Mary's miracle have been applied to circumstances faced and encourages the reader by covering areas most believers have encountered.

At the back of the book, there is a section entitled "Questions for Reflection" where you can be open and honest with yourself and allow the Holy Spirit to minister to you.

Jack Hayford has another winner!
This book was so encouraging to me. I love what Pastor Hayford had to say here. The discussion centers on Mary, the mother of Jesus, and shows how God can take the ordinary things in our life and make a miracle happen. If you have felt lately that your life is mundane or going nowhere, then you need to read this book.
